  1. Any guitar or music gurus on here have information on the Marshall 200 amp?

I currently can't play with my injuries, but I am slowly doing a notebook on Marshall amps of the 60's and 70's. I'm wondering if the 200 is closer to the classic 1959 SLP or if it's closer to the crunchier, meaner JCM800. If anyone has info, let me know, thank you.

Fun note - Out of the Past was supposed to star Bogart. He was locked into a contract at the time with Warner Bros so he couldn't do it. Mitchum was Bogart's own choice to do the film, and he pushed him to do it. Robert Mitchum was a pair with Jane Greer. Don't know how it would have worked out with Bogie, but it's still a fine movie.

That's a cool kernel of info about Mitchum there & I had no idea that Bogie was supposed to star in that film. That's for your motion picture recommendations & music recommendations completely. You have good tastes in less familiar masterpieces Bogie.

I'm being sincere in my praise here. No funny business. I swear.

I meant to say thanks for your recommendations & I trust your judgement in films & music completely. I need to proof read before I click send. LOL!

Catchy techno tune there Bogie. I like the older computer graphic in that video too. Keep posting rare gems like this one off the beaten path.

I learn quite a lot from you regarding anything keyboard related. It's not a genre I am strong in but I like your musical library choices anyway.

  5. R.I.P. Scott Weiland, very saddened to hear you are gone. 'Creep' was always STP's best hit.

First Kurt, then Layne Staley, and now Scott; all gone, and I'm only 33 years old. Shocking to see.

I respectfully disagree but it's a toss up.  Wicked Garden, Big Empty, Interstate Love Song and Plush were great as well

That's fine, take your time. I have the dimensions of the cover written in my notebook, so I can make some. They are like Facebook covers but slightly smaller. I made some for some friends on there last year, so I don't have a problem doing graphic work for you.

It's a cover of a folk song, I think....definitely a cover. Only played on the Ziggy/Aladdin Sane tours. Never was recorded in Studio sadly.

Regardless, I love the song. Love Love Love it. This version.....Bowie's.

  9. Congratulations Yahoo and NOLA writers! Your false reports on the firing of Rob Ryan, and the articles demanding his firing will now guarantee he won't be fired. Pat yourself on the back.

Motor Head's old drummer died. Ah man, that really blows. Crap, I'm depressed now. Thanks for the sad news anyway Bogie. I appreciate it.

Last week...Lemmy is done too. He nearly collapsed on stage a few months ago. Retirement coming for someone that don't want to retire.

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

The last time I saw Lemmy he didn't look good at all. So, you're right when you say he's done whether he's ready to wrap up his music career or not. Too much booze, brawds, & extra curricular activities I guess. You can't pretend to be a young man forever I guess. Just like with professional athletes, father time comes a calling. No exceptions even among heavy metal band leaders.

  11. This old man has such a wealth of musical knowledge. I could sit and listen to him for hourshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isyoPfvAfB0

  12. PURPLE REIGN: it's rare I ever watch videos of guitar covers, but this guy totally nails Prince's soloing stylehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_xSdP29JAI

It's an addictive song, though it's drawn out 8 minutes. I LOVED when he did it on the SB. Best SB half time show ever

    3. Jules

      Jules

Yeah we did get the best halftime show. And then got the Who vs. the Saints. We own the halftime stuff. The Prince Purple Rain thing was surreal at the game since it literally was raining when he did it. It rained hard that whole night.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

I liked that he started off with Let's Go Crazy and did that medley. I remember the rain, it was crazy. Prince is a phenomenal live artist. If he ever comes close, you gotta see him. You won't be disappointed.

  13. Have a lot to be thankful for today...especially now that the Saints have a field goal kicker.

And our kicker is sexy and a legend.

I can't remember the last time the Saints had a good kicker. Carney was inconsistent, Hartley was a joke, and that guy that missed the extra points this year, worse.

His character was very charming. I wonder what Hugh Laurie has been doing since it ended. I know he produced a Blues album a while back, and he's always got music projects going on. Very likable guy off screen.

  15. The new season of American Horror is an endless stream of shameless ripoffs with non stop referencing to classic Horror media

    1. Synthetic

Instead of the crying over shock factor, they need to be addressing how it rips off EVERYTHING from 1408 to the Shining to Village of the Damned to Hell Raiser 2

AHS lost me after season 1, the only good season...the rest so disappointing I couldn't finish season 3 and never went back. What a bummer, the concept was there.

    3. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Same here. I loved the first season but it went down hill quick. My friends and I have been writing a list of everything Hotel rips off, and we got quite the list going.

If owner Tom Benson is foolish enough to dismiss HC Sean Payton, I hope that Jim Irsay brings him to INDY for an interview. I like Sean even under Bill Parcells in Dallas & think he deserves to stay in Louisiana. He's a fine coach though.

    3. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Best game I've had in a long time. It feels great to beat the Falcons, better than anything to knock their perfect record down. I don't see Sean Payton leaving N.O. even if we have a losing record. He sealed in a tight contract. For him to go to Indy, I wouldn't be too happy with that.

    4. southwest1

      southwest1

Yeah, that game was vintage Saints with the Bayou Superdome Magic back Bogie! Sean Payton knows what the hades he's doing & I don't see a massive NFL regime change either. Drew Brees looked healthy to me man almost 2009 perfection like. JMO.

  19. Stanley Kubrick was a genius in geometry. Just watching 2001 A Space Odyssey all these years later made me realize how articulate his framework is to perfection with geometry.

Geometry or anything math related was never my strong suit Bogie, but I do agree that the thematic score was unforgettable & landmark at the time of it's release though. HAL was a cool computer villain voice too, but the human actors in that film never impressed me that much personally. I will admit that the director was creating images on screen never seen before & he deserves praise for that.

Very vintage Spinal Tap esque in terms of marking/promo stuff. I actually like lead vocalists in metal that actually try to harmonize vs shout lyrics & choruses. Thanks for letting me know this album is actually out Bogie. Major props for keeping me in the loop. You rock!

The singer is good. I like his style as a screamer ala Rob Halford. Very classic 80's style retro metal. It sounds so much like a modernized version of Mercyful Fate in their prime. Here's the full song
