  1. It breaks my heart to learn that Miami Vice is going to unneeded reboot that has a 97% chance of being bad.... I'm so sorry Michael Mann, Don Johnson, Philip Michael Thomas, Edward James Olmos and Jan Hammer...You did not deserve this.

  2. I really enjoyed seeing Wonder Woman. I didn't have high expectations but it knocked my socks off. I really liked this new actress they chose too, she is stunning. Also I didn't know heading into it that this film would have such heavy WWI elements with a background story but I thought it was great. I am not a super action hero expert or junkie either so as a casual fan I loved the film!

  3. The Heat bandwagon just got a big boost. Heat signed Kelly Olynyk to 4 years and 50 million.

Enjoy......Kelly O out and about in the club scene in Miami is going to really make things come alive there. And yes he does party. And he's huge. And stupid. And slightly psychotic.

Although this does help the Heat vs. Cleveland, since they always get rough vs. them.

Fireworks have made my cats act crazy the past 24 hours. Minnie LOVES IT. I have never seen a cat before excited by loud noises and fireworks like her. It's weird but refreshing at the same time since it's like watching a child.

I am not saying at all he is Lebron's level, duh. Nobody really is. Very very few. Lebron is a God among men. Just that I have seen legit video evidence that Hayward competes very hard vs. Lebron and doesn't stand around acting all scared of him like many others do. So perhaps next year Boston grows a pair vs. the Cavs in home games vs. Cleveland.

And they don't need PG to get that edge. I'm beginning to think the PG stuff is overblown. He does not perform well against LeBron. Even though he's faced him so many times, he's got an 0-5 playoff record vs him. He may have pushed those Miami Heat teams to a 7 game series, but he didn't come out the winner. I think PG is better off in OKC.

NBA players are treated like slaves....They're OWNED by the team that drafts them.

This is the thing I probably hate the most about the NBA. The "loyalty" thing...Just cause a team drafted you don't mean you owe them anything. I only ever see this in the NBA though...When NFL players leave teams and go chase rings or something, the fans usually root for them. Jets fans were rooting for Revis to get a ring with the Pats cause they knew he wouldn't be able to get one with their team. I personally rooted for Ricky Williams when he was with the Ravens in 2012.

I'd love to see Boston get over the hump and beat Cleveland. Someone's gotta do it. I love LeBron but seriously, I can't keep going these horrific Finals losses.

I think thats why I can't focus tonight.

I am not sure why, but Lebron is always like stuck in some Shakespearean tragedy play. Even his owner wrote him that nasty letter as if he was playing some evil villain role.

Anyway will feel better tomorrow night but tonight to me just kinda made basketball look pathetic.

I hope the Cavs can win in Cleveland but sadly they have been even worse in Cleveland then on the road this year.

It sucks, but it is what it is. The Warriors won 73 games last year, lost the Finals, then added Kevin Durant. Instead of overcoming their problems, they went out and got another star and made it unfair.

I don't get it. I really don't...apart from LeBron hate, this is like rooting for the 2007 Patriots. It's no different, they even have an undefeated streak going. The whole "best team ever" thing going.

if the Warriors do get a sweep, you're going to be "16-0 IN THE PLAYOFFS, BEST TEAM EVAH" rammed down your throat forever. Warriors fans will have 16-0 avatars all over the place.

This Cavs team I hate to say it was doomed before the playoffs evne began. We knew they weren't that good. it is the weakest LeBron led team of the current decade. They ranked 22nd in defense. But ohhhh myyyyy gooddddd they got KYLE KORVER and are a LOADED team. :excited:

Hate is more powerful than love. I have learned that with how pathetic LeBron haters are. They are rooting for the NBA equivalent of the 2007 Patriots just so they can hate on him. It don't get worse than that.

What's the point anymore? Everyone knew the Cavs were going to lose cause Golden State flat out ruined the season the minute they got Durant. Unless you get some personal satisfaction from watching one player loser to super teams, this isn't fun.

I seriously am done with basketball after tonight. Moving on to football and music stuff. Let the LeBron haters have their pathetic parade. it's really no different than rooting for the 2007 Patriots. They should be embarrassed, but hate does amazing things to people.

Hope you sleep well and I hope that concern was good.

Forget the Cavs and basketball. I know LeBron haters are enjoying this with their lists and talking about how people over the age of 40 are so smart and pretty much geniuses cause they're older than us (for the record; one of us here is 36 and the other will be turning 35 in 2 months, so bragging about being in your 40's isn't that far off since, since this is technically still Generation X. Unless you're a Baby Boomer, then you can pull that ageist "I'm smarter than you cause I'm older" crap. I wasn't born yesterday. I was alive and well in the 90's....). Enjoy bashing LeBron, cause no one cares anymore.

I don't know what to say about grunge music though that has not been said already. I hated them all at times and still do outside of Nirvana. Can't help it, Nirvana did click as a band and had chemistry and yes they made them good in the studio with production I know that. But, can't deny Nirvana did "click" and had something there for a while........since IMO they did. The rest in grunge I could always take or leave but I can't lie, sometimes I still kinda do like some Nirvana songs. Not all but some.

I'm writing up a music blog about debunking that whole myth of Grunge "killing" Glam Metal and just posted a little rundown. I've got a lot more added since then.

My goal is to write a thorough debunking of that, cause there is so much more to get into.

I still can't get into Nirvana. I'm almost in my 40's and I still don't get it. Nirvana sounded good primarily due to the production. Strip the production away and you get 'Bleach' and that album is horrible.

I think my problem with grunge in general is that I was always a metal head and the two do not mix at all. Metal heads hate grunge with a passion, and grunge guys hate metal.

Seriously, how can anyone root for this team? They're basically the NBA equivalent of the 2007 Patriots...I know LeBron haters live to see him lose, but god, this is like hoping the 2007 Pats go to the SB and beat down some quarterback in the NFC that you don't like. it's no different from that.

What the Cavs need though is someone to replace JR Smith.Get a legit GUARD. Thats why Wade at that spot would have worked GREAT if Wade went to Cleveland in the offseason.

Or........TT should come off the bench and you get a REAL center.

      Bad coaching 101 right there.

They could've went after Wade and didn't...Hell, Wade would've stayed in Miami had LeBron stayed, and they could've got Kevin Love too with the trade...That would be their big 3 right now.

I know Cavs treat Kyrie like he's some golden boy, but I'm sorry, but Kyrie is not greater than an aged Wade. Even an older Wade could still play defense....Kyrie is getting killed by Curry in this series.

It was a mistake to get Korver. Should have looked for a guy who could play defense instead of that stupid smuck.

Atlanta sports fans have been saying this since the night that trade happened. Atlanta's defense IMPROVED without Korver.

How any LeBron haters seriously hyped that guy up is such a joke. They made him sound like he was some superstar coming to make this "loaded" team they go on and on about. Korver is overrated as hell. They shouldn't have even went after him.

And no calls!!! He gets HAMMERED and no calls!!

The one in that video that made my jaw drop was when he got his tooth knocked out and the ref is standing RIGHT THERE and watched and he just turns to the ref and is like "what the F? you aren't going to call that a foul!?" and the ref just shakes his head at him. :woah:

That BTW is the Miami Heat without Wade or LeBron...Without either of them, they don't get the favorable calls anymore. That's proof right there, Dragic gets beaten down and abused and no calls. Miami don't have a superstar, so they don't get the calls anymore.

I feel so sorry for Lebron but seriously........what did he expect? I mean the writing was on the wall here too. If not for him and Love they get blown out even worse in this series.

Why didn't LeBron try to trade something big for Carmelo? You were high on this possibility and Phil Jackson did say he wanted to trade Carmelo and was into negotiations.

Other stars too...Paul George? Anthony Davis? Instead, LeBron went for Kyle Korver who we all knew wasn't that great and is proving it in the Finals.

LeBron deserves some criticism on this end too...This is what I mean, stay in Miami and let Pat Riley be the GM. Pat Riley knows what he's doing...And I have to say too, the Heat's coach is way better. I like Lue, but at times he looks CLUELESS. We used to make fun of the Heat's coach but he clearly knows what he's doing to take a team with no super stars and get the #5th ranked defense in the league.

Something no one ever mentions - that Heat team with the Big 3 all took pay cuts. LeBron, Wade and Bosh took big pay cuts and they had so much cap space due to this. The Cavs are in cap hell cause when LeBron brings in his buddies like JR Smith, Kyle Korver, and the others, they get PAID. They don't take pay cuts like the guys in Miami would do. Just shows where Pat Riley is better at this than LeBron.

Nobody I even know in real life (and they are Celtics fans) is even blaming Lebron. I have had people tell me Kyrie Irving is embarrassing himself. TT is just..........what the F is up with him? It makes Love's life brutal since I even have seen TT just standing there at times under the basket watching the game and not doing a F'ing thing. lmao I mean HELLO.......earth to Tristan?

Omg, Kyrie plays like a Kobe clone at times. Tonight I saw him doing the Kobe style iso ball, which is just a flat out bad idea, especially against Golden State where every freaking player on their team plays at an elite level.

What makes me sick is that Golden State was able to rest Durant, and then have a dramatized injury for their freaking coach and still win all these blow outs. They're doing stuff in the Finals they didn't do at all in the regular season. Durant wanted it easy and by god did he get it easy. He might even get Finals MVP now...They saved him just for the Finals. It's downright sickening.

Oddly though I ain't upset. I was kinda irritated earlier but I am not upset. Since I have even Celtics fans telling me "So.........does Boston have to get Anthony Davis, Carmelo, Jimmy Butler etc. to go along with IT to win a title?". lmao

Most people I know think this is a joke. My dad thinks it's a joke. Mark says it's a joke.

It's a joke since this Warriors team is still young enough to dominate for more seasons.

Some are going to eventually even say Kevin Durant is the GOAT. lmao

Oh that's adorable. lmao Will be the new Gospel for LeBron haters.

I can hear it already - "LeBron ain't the GOAT! He only has 3 rings! Kevin Durant is better than him! So what if he went to a loaded Golden State team, it isn't like LeBron don't have Kyle Korver, Kyrie and Love, and a loaded team!"

It's a joke, it really is...And how anyone can blame LeBron on this, well, that just proves all alone they are a hater. he is the ONLY one playing at a solid level....Kevin Love showed up tonight, no one else did.

Take LeBron off this Cavs team and they don't even win 40 games. Seriously, I believe that....It's not like Durant where his team went on a 14 GAME WIN STREAK with him pretending to be injured.

People are now saying Lebron is getting too old. lmao He isn't, You try guarding everyone and trying to score 40 points in a game and tell me how young you feel. lmao Sometimes in the second he even told someone "I got Steph" since GOLLY......who the F else can do it?

LeBron is the same age Wilt Chamberlain was when he was getting his butt kicked in the Finals every year by the Knicks. To make that comparison, he's not that old.....

The NBA is broken. BROKEN by Golden State. This is starting to look like the 90's when the Bulls had all the talent but even worse....The Bulls still had weaknesses but almost every match up in the Finals favored them in lineups. There is some serious breakdowns to prove the Bulls never got an opponent in the Finals who could defend in the paint, which was where they abused everyone.

This is worse, much worse...cause Golden State got Durant and then didn't even need him and just saved him for the Finals.

Dungy is like the most unappreciated coach of the 2000's. I see so many people bash that man as a coach and I just don't get it.

Take Dungy away, you don't win it in 2006. No way. I don't care about how bad the run defense was, they did improve drastically in the playoffs and Dungy tweaked it and fixed things up to work. He had a history of doing that in Tampa Bay.

I can't wait for the NFL season to come back. I miss the drama. lmao And at times, it's EASIER to deal with. You get those bad playoffgames where your team gets beat down or loses a close one, and it's just like going to the doctor and getting a shot. It stings, but it's done and over with. In the NBA, you have these agonizing series that just get worse and worse. It's like being slowly tortured for two whole weeks.

I'm just excited in general to get to watch Dak Prescott again. He was so much fun last year, and I am looking forward to spending the next few years following his career. For NFL:

The Saints are in trouble I see after today.

This isn't good for us...Nick Fairley might have a heart condition and have to retire.

      http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000813044/article/nick-fairleys-nfl-future-in-question-due-to-medical-issue

Huge blow cause Fairley was a great player with us last year and contributed greatly, as he became one of our bet pass rushers. I feel bad for him too cause he's from the Mobile area and he was on the 2010 Auburn team with Cam Newton who won the championship and he grew up a lifelong Saints fans and begged the team to give a chance last year. Even this year, he took a cheap pay cut to stay with us, so this is really sad for him. He WANTED to be with us, and had a great year and then this happens, ugh....

I haven't analyzed the Colts enough to know if or not what I want to pick them for a record. i need to sit down and go through their offense and defense like I usually do. I do think they improved a bit on defense from Ballard's moves. I'm just behind and in the dark over here with any real knowledge on all their moves cause I haven't been keeping up with them since the draft.

Oh I agree, imagine those two in Miami with that young core Pat Riley rebuilt.

Riley rebuilt them with NO super stars and just using youth in a matter of 2 years....That says a lot about him as a GM.

I'm done with this crap with LA. if they draft Lonzo Ball, I'm not rooting for them. Period. I at least have better standards than put my fandom behind a team that takes in LaVar Ball. I already got myself a Miami heat sticker to put on my notebook for 2018, so I'm taking my bandwagon to south beach and will be rooting for the Heat next year. My dream is for them to land Anthony Davis, but it's not even worth thinking about really....Golden State has ruined this league with getting Durant. They'll probably win it every year now for the next 5 years.

I love LeBron and all, but he basically just got screwed by bringing his friends into Cleveland who all got paid and then left him out to dry in the Finals. This is bad. This is 2014 Heat level bad. The Cavs look JUST LIKE that - old worn down players who contribute nothing while LeBron is trying and the only one really doing anything. Kevin Love showed up too.

If he stays in Miami, all he has to do is take a break for 2 years and Riley gets him a new awesome team with Dragic and those young guys, and YES Kevin Love goes to Miami too.

#1. His haters have been screaming for months about how this is supposedly a "loaded" team. Kyle Korver sucks....I dare anyone to come and try to act like he's some elite player tonight. Also, Kyrie is overrated, and all these guys that LeBron brought in SUCK in the Finals....Pull up their stat line from game 1. This "loaded" team put up just 5 points around him. Yeah, they're "loaded" alright....

LeBron basically just got all his friends a pay check. Oh and if anyone wants to suggest the Cavs some how "run the league' go look up their cap...The damage is beyond repair, they're going to be in CAP HELL very soon and things aren't going to be good.

#2. He was the only one that really tried tonight. Kyrie didn't. This "loaded" team around him sure as F didn't.

#3. This is all porn for his haters, and they can sit around and laugh about it endlessly, but seriously, what is so great about Kevin Durant getting a ring? He went to a loaded team. Golden State has ruined the NBA. Don't blame LeBron on that, blame the coward who wanted the easy path to a ring.

Most of these Golden State fans are not even real fans of them. They're just LeBron haters, including Kobe fans and MJ fans etc etc. They've been over the moon since KD signed...If LeBron James' career has taught me anything in sports, it's that HATE IS POWERFUL...People root for anyone to beat him, and this Golden State team is loaded beyond belief just to beat him.

For the record, this is the WORST LeBron led Finals team since 2007. Of course his haters have this mythology they've created about it being the "best team since the 2013 Miami Heat" but the stats don't say that...Cleveland ranked #22nd in defense this year. That is the WORST defensive ranking of a LeBron led team in the Finals of this current decade. Last year's Cavs ranked in the top 10. ALL the Miami Heat teams ranked in the top 5 on defense.

I feel sorry for him cause he has to lose to these jerks in California who are smug and arrogant as hell meanwhile all his haters who live in some alternate reality that we think he's the GOAT are whatever, now they get to sit around and laugh at a loaded super team that was built solely to destroy him. We'll have to hear about MJ and all the others, but they didn't have to face super teams built themselves specifically to destroy them. The only one you could make a decent argument for is Wilt Chamberlain; yes, the 70's Knicks sorta built their team around destroying him specifically and pretty much did that when they would crush the Lakers in the Finals. And Wilt also was widely hated and everyone loved to scream about him having "only two" rings, kinda like how that stupid ring argument is shoved at LeBron now for having "only three" compared to others.

He should've stayed in Miami....Should've stayed in Miami...Should've stayed in Miami. Pat Riley would've did better than what the Cavs have done. Kevin Love would be in Miami right now if LeBron stays.

  24. Grunge did not kill hair Metal: debunking the myth.

You've probably heard this myth your whole life how Grunge "killed hair metal" but I'm going to explain why that is a myth and more than anything a marketing creation to promote Grunge bands (specifically Nirvana).

Let's go back to the final years of the 80's and the early 90's. Hair Metal or "Pop Metal" or "Glam Metal" (whatever you want to call it) had just about run it's course in general...

By hair metal; this is a reference to bands such as Cinderella, Ratt, Poison, Warrant, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Loverboy, Honeymoon Suite, L.A. Guns and soooooooo many others.

At the height of the glam metal phase, most of the heavyweights of Metal who had been already established for some time and widely considered cornerstone bands of the genre eventually adapted to glam metal to sell more records. Judas Priest for instance released the album 'Turbo' 1986. Ozzy Osbourne also released a glam based album in that same year called 'The Ultimate Sin'. Unless you are a big fan of one or the other, these albums are mostly forgotten from their catalogs. 1986 was the height of glam rock, but it was beginning to fade out by 1990.

Going into the 1990's, most hair metal bands were left standing on their last leg and things did not look good for them; Poison was beginning to break up due to guitarist C.C. Deville's cocaine problems worsening over time, and Bret Michaels was beginning to develop the rock star ego or what is often called 'lead singer god complex'. Ratt was in trouble due to Robin Crosby's heroin addiction and more than anything, the band could never top their mega hit of 'Round and Round'. Warrant was getting sick after lead singer Jamie Lane had ate too much 'Cherry Pie' and the band lost it's minds, and using them as an example; most of these bands and the L.A. glam scene had become a caricature parody of their former selves.

There was also the underground "Thrash/Speed Metal" scene that began in the 80's, and bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax arguably had something to do with this, cause they were beginning to peak in popularity going into the 90's.

My point here is, most of these bands were already on life support before Nirvana even came out and grunge was marketed to the forefront. There were various underground scenes that were beginning to take over and could've easily been picked up and marketed by the music industry. Kurt Cobain admitted before that he got most of his ideas from the Pixies and Sonic Youth, who were big in the underground grunge of the 80's (R.E.M. also was a big underground band in the 80's with that "indie" sound that grunge is associated with, more proof that Nirvana did not create grunge). But further note; these glam bands were about to fizzle out regardless due to all their problems.

Heavy Metal was still a force by the time Grunge came out; the 'Thrash' or 'Speed Metal' bands (Whatever you prefer to call them) of the 80's were beginning to enjoy great success in the mainstream: Metallica's self titled 'black' album sold millions of records and to this day is one of the highest selling albums in lists. In 1992, Megadeth's single 'Symphony of the Destruction' hit #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and the album 'Countdown to Extinction' is their highest selling record of that decade; Anthrax's album 'Sound of White Noise' debuted at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 albums (an album they made without their lead singer from the 80's). And of course, the last surviving L.A. scene glam band going into the 90's was Guns N Roses and they were still selling millions of records during the height of Grunge. In 1993, Guns N Roses released 'The Spaghetti Incident'. The album debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 charts. That is an album that is mostly forgotten about, but it hit #4 and sold millions upon it's initial release. GNR is also an example of how self-destructive the glam bands were going into the 90's with drug problems and feuds with band members, setting up the table for their own destruction.

In 1994, while Grunge was still the main force to be reckoned with, Motley Crue released a self titled album without singer Vince Neil that managed to peak at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

So no, Grunge and Nirvana did not outright kill Hair Metal. It was already dying by the time they came around.

  25. Are you ready for the big battle again?

Historical underdogs take the stage soon.

(whoever made this, got to use it. It's ridiculously good)

Of course I have to post this again:

And whoever did paint what was painted on Lebron's house in L.A........I won't even say what I would do to that person or persons on this forum openly. Absolutely disgusting to do that to a good man like Lebron James. I think Lebron was shook up today and saddened and I think the team around him is going to rise up and now fight even harder for their leader.

Ugh I love Kobe but my God was he a frustrating player. When he was good he was very good but when he was bad you wanted to die. And he also btw when bad would keep taking shots all the time. Kyrie isn't a ball hog though.

But tonight the Cavs had loads of Kobe's on a bad shooting night chucking up shots that didn't go in. I was starting to have flashbacks..........it sorta looked to me like the Lakers vs. the Celtics in 2008 even.

Soooooo true. When he was off, he just wouldn't stop. That's where Kobe would frustrate me the most. The only time in his career he actually wasn't a ball hog, was the height of the Shaq era.

Kobe would do that though; keep missing and keep taking so many shots. It would make you want to punch the TV at times. I used to get REALLY mad cause he would do this when Odom was playing well. You mention the 2008 Boston series and I keep thinking back to that and I remember Odom and Gasol were playing really well and Kobe just refused to pass the ball to them at times, it was so frustrating. I swear there was one game in that series where Kobe was just BAD and those guys were playing great and he just screwed it all up by refusing to get them involved.

Probably why I cherish the Shaq years so much, those years, he actually would pass the ball and let Shaq do what he did best, and that was dominate and slam home those violent dunks.

It actually disturbs me since Kobe retired, there is this big mythology about him being the greatest scorer ever and the one about how he "carried Shaq" omg, that makes me want to punch holes in walls. That is so damn wrong...Shaq got all 3 Finals MVP's in those championships...Kobe had some memorable games in those Finals, but take Shaq off those teams, they would have never got there...Kobe's fans make Shaq sound like a scrub when they talk trash about him, it's sickening...Kobe didn't even get the last 2 rings, until they got him another awesome center (Pau Gasol) to help out.

I read tons of Cavs stuff on Kevin Love and they need to get off his aazzz at times. I mean do they even realize what position he plays?

Cavs fans treat Kevin Love like he is Bosh with the Heat.

But they seem to forget, Bosh wasn't an elite scorer...Bosh's job was to get rebounds, steals, and mostly, just play all around good defense.

Remember how everyone used to say Bosh was the overrated one of the big 3? Everyone acted like he was supposed to score gobs of points, but he never did. Occasionally he would get a big 3 pointer like Love does, but Bosh's sole job was defense. Bosh wasn't overrated, people just didn't analyze him as a defensive player.

I think Cavs fans are way too hard on Kevin Love. For the Bosh role, he does it good...he's not supposed to score tons.

Imaging though if Kevin Love could've went to Miami to replace Bosh, that would have been crazy...the Heat wouldn't have skipped a beat after losing Bosh.
