  1. Experts are comparing Russell Wilson to your Drew Brees. Short and small in stature....but athletic, with excellent leadership qualities, and cerebral.

It's too early to write the book on any of these young QBs....but I think Wilson is the real deal and the Seahawks are gonna be in the playoff conversation for a while, even if I can't stand them.

It makes no sense at all to compare him to Brees, and yeah Saints fans constantly try to compare them. Brees does not do any of that running around, and he has always been a pocket passer. Everytime there is a short QB, they want to compare him to Brees. Before him, when Colt McCoy had 1 good game, that was the first thing I heard about him.

  2. I can't even watch games with Saints fans, I think I could put up with this guy more than I can my own fan base. This may sound bad but I had the most fun watching games with a Bills fan. Never did I have to hear excuse after excuse after excuse when our teams lost.

  3. Can you even believe they gave him a 5 year contract extension? He looked just awesome covering Vernon Davis the other night.

GB don't have a clue what they are doing.

Number 1, Ted Thompson never hits free agents, and he gave this guy a 5 year extension to do nothing on defense. Don't even get me started on the big extension they gave Finley after last year. 2 catches for 45 yards in his last 2 playoff games. He drops pass after pass, throws his QB under the bus.

All that "rookies build talent" look at their defense. Yeah....Clay Matthews is the entire pass rush. They looked great the other night leaving 20 yards open for Kaepernick to pick up a first down. Their defense has been a joke 3 out of the last 4 years. Only one season did Capers actually do something with them, the year they won the Super Bowl. 2011 they were worst in the league, and this year they weren't all that good, that playoff game proved it.

I don't see GB doing it anymore. i think they are going to regress next year. Their defense will continue to get worse, and a much tougher schedule.

  4. Say it ain't so! A colts fan that likes the Patriots?

I still hate 'em! Respect the heck out of Belichick and his ability to stay on top. But I hate 'em. Go Ravens. I always pull for the team that knocked out the Colts anyway... unless its the Pats.

Dude you haven't seen nothing yet till you meet Saints fans that I know, who are rooting for the Falcons because they are still torn on how "the refs made us lose against the forty whiners in the playoffs! we beat ourselves!". At least the Pats aren't in your division anymore. it's pretty sad seeing fans that still think the Niners are our sworn enemy, to the point they would sell their souls to the team they claim to hate the most just cause they are still upset over a game we gave to them last year with 5 turnovers.

  5. This post and some of the responses that followed <Jules> gave me a good laugh.  Most Colts fans here could give two flying fig newtons about the Falcons  Bogie.  :funny: Okay I'll go ahead and crown em for ya...man.  Feel better?

Sureeee I think you guys get a kick out of having a loud mouth, very opinionated Saints fan on your board such as me. Oh and on top of that, one that can't stand his own fanbase. If I have to hear how Saints fans are rooting for Atlanta, or another crazy laughable conspiracy theory, I'm going to have a heart attack. That one about Brees being paid by someone behind closed doors to throw picks all season did it for me.

  6. Patriots 27

    Ravens 24

    49ers 45

    Falcons 17

The 49ers are going to overwhelm Atlanta and down right destroy them. ATL's defense gave Russell Wilson his first 300 yard passing game and almost a 300 yard one. They got shredded bad, nearly giving up 500 yards to those guys. SF's defense is built for beating teams like ATL with that Dan Marino passing crap. It will be close until the most overrated quarterback in the league starts throwing picks as he did last week.

Baltimore, I just don't know. I feel like they got robbed last year. Refs called back 2 Brady picks, and then in the end when they should have won, WR drops the ball. I want to pick them so bad but I just don't know about this. I think it's going to come down to one turnover, and the team that gets it will win.

  7. 8-0 at home where they get all the calls, including that horrible one that screwed GB out of the game.

    3-5 on the road.

They are an offensive juggernaut until they are on the road. Their only road wins came on an OT game against a poor Miami team that they should have blown out, and the 2 massive blow outs against bottom feeders Buffalo and Arizona.

  8. The only Patriots SB win that I felt really at ease about was the last one, against Philly. Granted, it was a tight game. But the sense the entire Eagles team was giving off was that they were just glad to be there after coming so close in however many straight NFCCGs.

It was an exciting ending for sure, but they seemed too happy at the end. You're glad to escape with a win, yeah, but I think a more seasoned playoff team says, "Holy crap, we almost blew that and this only gets tougher as you go."

Just not feeling it for Atlanta this weekend. I could be way off. I don't know.

Three or more is probably too much, I'm going overboard there. Maybe 10 points. I don't think it'll be very close.

Watch, now the Falcons roll 'em, lol!  :D

Andy Ried made that Super Bowl a lot easier for the Pats. I didn't give Philly a chance, I wouldn't have gave them a chance against Pittsburgh either that year. Granted, NE out played them and rightfully won, but I thought Philly gave up on that game with the poor clock management late in the game once the Pats got up to a 10 point lead. That's Andy Ried in general though, he don't know how to do any clock management at all, he will let it run.

  9. I got sick of it hearing it for weeks how this was a Super Bowl team, when they couldn't even beat Green Bay without one of the worst calls ever going their way.

Are they a good? Sure....are they that good? Hell no.

I got sick of hearing it. They scored 50 points against teams that didn't even make the playoffs (Arizona and Buffalo), then the Niners had a really bad game on the road. Did anyone really look at these guys on the road? They were all set to crown Russell Wilson the next greatest QB ever, and while he's done a good job, I wouldn't be shocked if he regresses next season.

Their defense was good but totally not the #1 rank they got. Similar to how smoking awesome Pittsburgh's #1 defense was last season when they had horrible games, and ultimately did not deliver in the playoffs against Tim freaking Tebow.

I think Seattle will regress next year. Remember Shaun King? He was great with Tampa Bay for a season or two then no one knows what happened to him he did not live up to the expectations. No I don't think Wilson will fall like he did, but I wouldn't be shocked if he don't live up to the hype next season and Seattle goes 8-8.

As much as I hate Atlanta, I don't know how we'd really be feeling if the 12th man that should have lost to GB earlier in the season and has a tremendous amount of luck made it to the NFC Championship. It's funny how easy the media forgets that game, and was dead set on calling them a Super Bowl team.

The future of the West is in the hands of the 49ers and Rams. I honestly think that the Rams are going to become a big headache for those guys. Jeff Fisher is already 1-0-1 against them, and just to think. Spags had that team for 3 years and couldn't do nothing with them, in just ONE season Fisher has put a new mentality in that defense even without having defensive coordinator Gregg Williams all year. They have all the draft picks that Synder gave to them for drafting Griffin, so they have a good measure of material to continue to work and build up. Also Fisher don't have Bud Adams there to throw a wrench into things with something stupid like Vince Young or spending all their money to keep an arrogant guy like Chris Johnson who did nothing after he got his money.

Did anyone deep down even want to root for Seattle? I think Packer fans know how it feels to be screwed by the 12th man.

  10. Atlanta is ripe for a massive letdown, IMO. They all looked like they had just won the Super Bowl... dramatic ending, I know, but I don't like the Falcons' chances against the 49ers next week. Not at all.

I was 1-for-3 on my divisional round predictions but already would go with SF by two or three scores in this one. Maybe more.

Well to them they just did win the Super Bowl. They won a game thanks to Pete Carroll's stupid decisions to not kick a field goal before the end of the first half, and then him trying to ice the kicker. That dome was in complete silence as Seattle was scoring, and scoring and now according to their fans they are the kings of the world that they barely beat these guys, who I'm going to be honest; shouldn't have even made it this far. Seattle is not a "great" team by any means.

They are going to emotionally drained and completely worn down next week when Harbaugh's team rolls through. He out coached all these great coaches, and Mike Smith is not a great coach. Just a year ago he was the * of the league that gave us a win against the Falcons by going for it on 4th down at the Falcons 30 yard line in OT, Saints went on to win the game. So I would expect him to do something really stupid again.

The Falcons will get their passing stats like Green Bay did for some time, but it's not going to matter, cause they'll be playing from behind and trying to play catch up with these guys the entire game.

I wanted this game and I got it. Everyone is ready to crown Ryan as the next Manning or what ever, watch them disappear next week when he gets his skull crushed by the same defense that beat Brady, Brees (Twice), Rodgers (Twice) and Stafford.

  11. The division argument isn't pertinent. Once the Pats win their execrable division they go on and dominate in the playoffs.

Mannings playoff teams are a farce.

You're right, I started to think and the 49ers all those years won their division, it wasn't that tough until the late 80's when the Rams and Saints had teams that actually challenged them. I guess you could say the Niners had it gift wrapped for division titles up till Jim Mora and Jim Everett were challenging them, and even with that it didn't stop them. I don't remember Atlanta ever giving them any trouble winning the division back then. Even with the easy divisional wins, they would dominate in the playoffs.

  12. Say what you want about the AFC East, the Jets are always a top defense.

They were a top 5 defense this year, and this year they were also a butt fumble team.

And they were STILL a top 5 defense despite it.

The AFC East may not be the NFC North but it's not the Jaguars and the Titans and the 2000 Texans.

More over, your point is mute because the post-season success is there.

It isn't like Brady is pillaging the AFC East then going one and done a record 8 times like Peyton Manning

AFC South, until 2 years ago was basically a roll over. I'd take the AFC East over them as being a competitive bunch. And you are right, the Jets may have been a mess but their defense normally is pretty good.

  13. And every time they hit him you will likely :cheer2:  :cheer:.

LOL poor Matt Ryan. I thought he looked so nervous at the end when Seattle scored that TD. You have to admit. He HAD to win this game. Had to. Sad but true. If not his offseason would be a living you know what.

They can mail Pete Carroll a thank you card, he gave it to them by trying to ice the kicker. Has icing the kicker ever worked??? I'd love to see the statistics on this because everytime I see them call a Timeout before a kick, it's always GOOD.

  14. You know something?

Atlanta has the 24th ranked defense in the league.

They are 21st vs the rush, and 25th vs the pass.

And GB was ranked what 16th and they nearly massed 600 yards on them?

Don't be shocked if they have another big game and beat the living crap out of Atlanta. I would not be scared if I was a 49er fan. They blew a 20 point lead. Physically, the Seahawks out played them and wore them slap out. They had little to no pass rush at all, and that's pretty bad considering how average Seattle's offensive line is.

49ers are going to blow them out bad. That defense is built to shut down the one dimensional teams that try to make their QB Dan Marino with no run game. Turner will not be able to run against them. They shut down Brees, Brady, and Rodgers twice. Matt Ryan is not even a top 5 quarterback, watch him drop back and throw a bunch of interceptions in this game.

Harbaugh will have nothing to worry about. They let Russell Wilson tear them up and gave him his first 300+ yard game, god knows how bad Kaep is going to destroy them.

Anyone that thinks they are matched up well with the 49ers top ranked defense, is insane. Atlanta played ONE top 10 team all year. ONE....the rest were average and below average teams. They finally played a good team and they blow a 20 point lead and would have lost if Pete Carroll wouldn't have called a time out. This is a gift for the 49ers. They struggled against tough defenses like Seattle and St. Louis, but Atlanta has a very weak defense. Kaep is going to explode on them like he did the other night against Green Bay.

And to all you "Saints fans" that are selling out to root for Atlanta, you should know our dome is much louder than theirs. I'll never forget that 2010 playoff game. Once it became 28-14, all the Falcons fans left, and you could actually hear "Go Pack Go" louder than anything. They'll clear out again once it becomes a 14 point game.

  15. There is no way Matt Ryan and Atlanta is beating SF next week.

Harbaugh over Sean Payton - Look Saints fans too, they love complaining about this game and coming up with their laughable conspiracy theories but Harbaugh absolutely 100% out coached Payton. As soon as Thomas went down we stopped running the ball and went into Dan Marino mode with Brees throwing 60 passes. You seen just how scared Harbaugh was of the Saints defense when Alex Smith did a bootleg run play for a touchdown. We wouldn't have came back in that game if their offense was scoring like they did last night.

Harbaugh over Mike McCarthy - TWICE. McCarthy is not a great coach IMO. Last night, he totally exposed that one dimensional passing game. They LET GB run the ball, they did. Look at the stat sheet, they let them run it because they knew they wouldn't keep up with it, and they were all over those great WR's. They had them covered left and right.

Harbaugh over  Smith ALL THE WAY.

Look SF has beat all the best QB's in the league they have played. They beat Brees twice, absolutely dismantled the Saints and made us look like garbage both times. The first time we were only in that game because Alex Smith and company couldn't do anything until the 4th quarter. The second time around oh you saw...you saw how it worked. They beat Rodgers twice, and they beat Brady. Matt Ryan is nothing. The Falcons blew a 27-3 lead today, there is no way I am picking them to "shock the world". Watch what happens when Roddy White pushes off next week, they are going to slam him in the face. They have never been hit as hard as the Niners defense likes to hit. I am serious, look at them. They made the Pats look bad for most the game, they absolutely tortured GB on defense. They destroyed the Saints. Atlanta is going to get their butts handed to them on a silver platter next week.
