  1. And every cry was heard from every corner while I slept semi-peacefully. Bama lost, who cares. B$C$ is still rigged. They will find a way to make sure the SEC still wins it.

It's nice to see the underdog Tigers stun the Roll Tide faithful. Any given week, the media darling team can stumble, trip, & fall. A fascinating game to watch...

I don't care either way, but living down here says enough when they are still moaning about this game but don't want to talk about real issues that are effecting us. Football IS religion in Alabama sadly.

my dad recently had a minor knock to the back of the head and it caused a brain bleed. If you have persistent headaches see a doctor!

    3. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Oh wow that is scary. Main reason I haven't went to the doctor is I can't afford it, but if it's still bad by Thursday I will do what I can to check it out.

      Jules

Yeah Bogie don't let this go if the headaches keep going even if you don't think it is related to the accident and is the usual sinuses/migraines.

  3. Cover Time: What's your favorite version of the Motown hit "Money (That's What I Want)"?

I am not sure how to work on it lol. I did not know the Beatles covered that song but I really don't follow Led Zepp but it seems many many do.

I mean I did know the Beatles covered it...not Led Zepp.

Iggy & the Stooges version just to be different I guess. Honestly though, I love Buddy Guy's Blues version Bogie from "A Man & The Blues" album.

  4. Well, at least something good came out of today, 100 wats of pure Latin soul have been infused in my brain from a couple of amazing soundtracks

Have you ever heard the Wailing Souls? If you like Marley, they would be right up your alley. Michael Prophet is another good choice. I don't know Reggae that well, I picked up on those by accident a few years back.

Marley's son Steven is a fantastic guitarist and singer.

Latin eh? Carpe diem? The original source for this Latin phrase is the lyric poet Quintus Horatius Flaccus (65 BC – 8 BC), more widely known as Horace. The term is first found in Odes Book I:

      "Dum loquimur, fugerit invida

Aetas: carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero" which translates as: "While we're talking, envious time is fleeing: pluck the day, put no trust in the future." Okay, I got nothing. Ha! Ha! :D

  5. Lionel Richie just doesn't sound like Lionel Richie anymore. At least the Commodores albums still sound good from the 70's.

The Commodores do rock from that era Bogie. No doubt about it. Lionel Ritchie is definitely "Easy" baby. :)

  6. I hate TNF. Not only is it overkill of the schedule for $$$ but it's not even on cable. Not staying up to watch online either...

I'm with you on this 100% Bogie. SW1 & Cs4 just can't program my mind to watch TNF unless the Colts are on Primetime.

  10. Found one of my favorite records today. The Beatles' Rubber Soul. Their most underrated album?

    1. JPPT1974

      JPPT1974

Would say Rubber Soul would be up there as underrated for them. One Beatles fan to another!

    2. The Fish

      The Fish

There's nothing in the Beatles cannon that I would consider "underrated" considering how over exposed they really are. Rubber Soul is probably my fav by them though, though Drive my Car is pretty stupi eerr silly.

    3. Synthetic

      Synthetic

I always believed it was their first golden album. It was a huge step up from the previous records, but I call it underrated solely based on the exposure the more important albums receive. I love Drive My Car, but it needs more cow bell!!

Thanks man I really appreciate that coming from you. Music is my real passion, football and sports in general are far down the road. I started buying cds when I was real young and slowly drifted from genres looking at the best things I could get my hands on

Yes, it is quite reassuring to see a soldier return home in 1 piece both physically & hopefully psychologically intact. I worry about our armed forces men & women, PTSD, & what happens when the parades & public adulation stop. Nevertheless, a heart warming homecoming is always a nice thing to see. :)

My best friend, grew up together since the 5th grade. He's been stationed in Japan the last 3 years through the Marines, had not heard from him in some time and then out of no where he calls and says he's heading over. I could have done cart wheels if my back would let me!

Southwest I know what you mean. I've been following those stories for quite some time on PTSD's and some of the medical treatment for our soldiers. My friend is through the marines and has alr...

It's good if you like his funky stuff. It's got a real nice R&B rhythm that sounds updated.

Prince is a strange musician. I've bought several of his albums from the 80's and enjoyed every one of them but never could figure him out in recent years.

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

I agree Bogie ever since Prince dropped his name & became a symbol; I have no idea what to make of his musical creativity or choices. I still need to check out his new song. I have preoccupied with a family matter lately, but I will get to hearing the new track very soon I promise. You have my word.

You could never bore me Bogie. Besides, soothing Jazz & Delta Blues is music to my ears. It's better than a lot of garbage that passes for music today IMO. I like you because you truly appreciate variety among genres just like my friends Cs4, the Cardinal, CS, Gramz, Jay Kirk, & BrentMc11 etc.

Can't go without appreciating all music genres in the world, I've found so many gems in the places I would have never guessed I would find myself enjoying music. Modern music on the radio today is a huge disappointment, but thankfully we still have the underground bands that make up for it!

hehe thanks, couldn't resist it. 22.5 BILLION dollar contract with ESPN and the SEC. $$$$$

  22. Well I did it, The Colts won the Super Bowl in Tecmo Super Bowl. Closest Super Bowl I have ever played. 16-14, Colts win on a last second field goal. The Cowboys defense made it a very tough game. Offense was non factor as Aikman was shut down most the game, except Emmitt Smith had some breaks.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

No I don't know how to record games. It was a crappy game though. The Colts lone TD came from a blocked punt by some unknown DB by the name of Jason Belser. I blocked 2 punts, that was 10 points, of my total 16. Dallas could have won the game after a Jeff George pick put them at the Colts 30, and they got down to the 22 but Lin Elliot missed it. That set up the George drive that resulted in the 52 yard game winning FG.

  23. With 9 seconds to go in the AFC Championship, Moon in the shotgun, 4th and goal from the Indy 5 yardline, takes the snap, TOUCHDOWN. 24-24. OT commences....Oilers win the toss, 3 passes put them to the Indy 45 yardline, Del Greco to kick them into the big dance, and it's wide left! Jeff George marches them down the field on 7 plays and Biasucci kicks the game winning FG from the Houston 20, and the Colts are in the Tecmo Super Bowl!

That's Atlanta for ya....they do not know how to close games. Don't help either when your coach is Mike Smith that thinks every single play should be a pass. He got out coached bad in this game, as predicted.

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

The Falcons cannot win with an aggressive team that punches them in the mouth. If Matt Ryan had won that game, the monkey would have been lifted from his back, now it jumped right back on with a tighter grip.

    4. Jules

      Jules

You are right southwest. He did not deliver in the second half of the game at all. Too many people do not deliver lately IMO though in big games. Sigh.
