  1. Live albums are like movie sequels. Sometimes it's well needed with a classic and a band that can put up a good performance (Iron Maiden's Live After Death being the Godfather Part.II of Metal), other times you have to wait over 10+ years for the sequel to come about, as I'm learning with these Anniversary performance albums.

Cash live a Folsom Prison is definitely a classic no doubt. Good films & stellar soundtracks together are so rare these days because either the film or the movie score are not on the same level. It's extremely rare. Not like Eastwood in his early spaghetti westerns with composer Ennio Morricone. Those still sound spectacular today IMO.

I think I like more live stuff then I initially thought. I was not thinking hard enough or even far back enough at times southwest.

No I don't have nor have I listened to the Madison Square Garden album either but if I saw it I would probably pick it up in person.

I download bootleg shows all the time. I've got hundreds of them on flashdrives and CD's that I've been collecting for years. That's the only time I tend to worry about muddy audio and problems. Studios tend to clean them up nicely but still nothing beats a good bootleg from time to time. But I NEVER spend money on those bootleg live CD's online. Total rip off when you can download it.

WOW they didn't know what a cassette was? :O I'm at a loss of words. I hated cassettes so much. I never had to deal with 8 tracks, but I'm totally shocked that kids these days have no idea what cassettes are! They have it made with their digital stuff

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

I think a few knew what a cassette was, but clearly some people were at a loss for words. My favorite is still vinyl. There's just something so unique & landmark about record grooves & a needle that I love especially when the needle runs out of grooves & is over. Nothing else like it my man. I just prefer vinyl to digital sound wise I guess.

Vinyl still sounds best for outside quality though I believe FLAC has won my choice for the best audio quality as of now, just impossible to get codecs for it on ITunes and Windows media player.

I would have never guessed you were born that year. I want one of those 50's series strats bad! They are the only ones that come in Fiesta Red anymore, and you can easily pick up a Freddie King/early Clapton tone from it - and people say Les Pauls and Fenders are total opposites LOL

They both can be the sheriff for today, the deputy is still alive. It's always a good day when you see someone go to jail for tax fraud! They think they can hide forever

It's a nickname for my girlfriend's little brother. We call him Beeb cause he looks identical to him, same goofy haircut and all. He's 18, and he's not a bad kid like the real Justin Bieber, he's just too young to go to the clubs with us

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

Does your girlfriend's little brother like Justin as an artist? Does he realize that this comparison both musically & professionally is not intended to be a flattering one? Hopefully, he just ignores it & laughs it off as a friendly hazing & nothing more. I'm sure he's a nice guy though as you stated Bogie.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

No he hates him, he's young just his haircut makes him look like him. Its hilarious

Yeah Britney has attended a few games at the dome before. She was at the game where Brees broke Marino's record on MNF, but no pictures ever surfaced of her there, though it was definitely true. She attended some games from 2001-2003 too, and she auctioned off one of her jerseys after Katrina for a charity benefit (an Aaron Brooks one, can't blame her for that) so yeah she's totally a Saints fan

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

I think there was some pictures of her on the Breathe Heavy forum (Britney fan site) that popped up a few years ago, I can't remember for sure. That was a great forum for collecting remixes, but it had waaaaaaaaay too many kids on it.

  12. VICTORY: I finally have healthcare now and can afford to see a doctor. Finally getting the care to my back and leg that I have desperately needed for so long and able to afford to finally afford my meds. Valentine's Day love comes in mysterious ways

Yes it made an awesome Valentine's Day, I've needed to have my back looked at for over a year now, it's great to finally have it worked on again.

I love the new series of films too. I'm actually writing my dissertation on them.

They're all fantastic but I think The Dark Knight is the best one.

    3. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Hi, their albums are expensive. Just a tip, keep a look out for used copies on EBay. They are much cheaper than the usual 13-16 bucks for one of the brand new remasters.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

I have two of the new remasters from 2009 and they do sound great, but there really is no difference compared to the old EMI/Capital CD releases if you have a good output stereo. I play mine on the computer, and the older discs still sound great.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

I am glad I am not a billionaire, I would never want to be of bourgeoisie establishment, I don't think I would fit in with them anyway. I'll live but at the moment some things have to go and I'm OK with that, but by the looks of it I'll always be online ;)

I wouldn't mind N.O. as long as I'm in a good area and the Jazz scene there does keep me interested, but as far as the whole "I love the south!" thing goes, I'm a total 360 opposite from most people down here. My dream is to live in Carcer City Nevada or Miami Florida around all those beaches

That would be entertaining to see Bogie. If you need some reinforcements, I can come over & perform Jerry Lee Jones "Great Balls Of Fire" for your woman too. Do you have a piano? It's too heavy to carry on my back. LOL!

Thanks, I will check it out for sure. I have Jeff Beck's Blow By Blow, one of the few fusion records I fell in love with. I do like Wired a little more though, haven't checked out the other stuff Hammer did with him. Beck is a brilliant guitarist, for my money he's the closest thing to Hendrix there ever was.
