Hit me up some time and we can discuss music! I love chatting about music with people on here.

  2. Retro throwback week for Halloween - Mercyful Fate and Black Sabbath. I forgot how fun melodic metal albums were.

Yeah I agree, I thought when Twiggy came back Manson would be himself again but that wasn't the case.

I just respect how smart Marilyn Manson is. Metal guys always get dismissed for how sharp they truly are & MM is definitely 1 of those cats IMHO.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

He's very intelligent, indeed. Put a lot of great messages on his earlier records.

He gets dismissed cause i think people are intimidated by him.

  3. Golden Dawn comes tonight, Ministry marathan before Halloween

I listened to all of them since I was young. Throw in Manson and Thrill Kill kult, along with a few other lesser known ones like Revco

    3. COLTS449

      COLTS449

Yeah, but I like Manson's older stuff a lot better. I love Pigface too.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Pigface rocked, I used to follow Martin Atkins after he "sold out" lol

  4. The Cthulhu is real. It's chillin with Xenu....somewhere.

last I heard, Cthulhu was spotted in his underwater city of R'lyeh. Maybe reading the Necronomicon.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

He moves from place to place, I need to check out that book next.

  5. Zelda II - Most underrated Zelda game period. The black sheep label is seriously uncalled for.

    1. Jules

      Jules

whooo hooo Zelda! I still love the music lol.

    2. Synthetic

      Synthetic

The music in this one kicks total butt

  6. A rediscovery of art. How relaxing drawing and painting can be.

  7. South Saturn Delta - Oh my an actual Hendrix cash in with good material. Midnight/Midnight Lightning are real winners on this record.

    1. southwest1

      southwest1

Hey Bogie, I'm not an expert on Hendrix musically, but if you say it's good, I definitely need to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

  8. Mothers of Invention - Absolutely Free....why oh why didn't I discover this when I was younger?

      Synthetic

Well don't drive listening to the final tracks, you might swerve from laughing LOL

Most of the album fades into one another with the shorter songs, great record though! Plastic People and Brown Shoes are my favorites on this album so far in a day

    3. Jules

      Jules

I am for sure getting it sometime sooner then later hopefully. OMG yeah I was going to drive listening to it. lmao.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

If you're going to buy it, may want to get We're Only In It For The Money with it. Pretty sure those albums go together, I don't have it yet, it's widely considered his best album

  9. Anyone know what Todd Coontz is a Dr in?

It's false advertising. You would think they could get in trouble for it.

I need to make my own web site to goof around with these guys.

  10. Just received the best birthday gift I could imagine - in less than 3 days after sowing the seed. Gibson Les Paul Studio - Alpine White and Gold Plated, the most beautiful guitar I've seen in forever

Yes, sometimes this world can be very depressing. Please hang around Bogie. I'd miss not having music & movie discussions with you my friend.

It always bums me out when people I really enjoy are no longer here. It still blows losing Williams & Bacall so close together because it feels like part of your youth dies with their final departure.

    4. southwest1

      southwest1

I will wait to see this James Brown King Of Soul movie on DVD as well. Bogie is right though. We appear to be a motion picture pattern of Marvel graphic novels film adaptations right now almost to the point of over saturation like a wet wash cloth that you cannot ring the water out of. Yes, I recently saw "Guardians Of The Galaxy," but if actress Zoe Saldana wasn't in it; I would have never seen it.

I'm going to use ET to blame for things I don't understand.

From an archaeological stand point, the explanations blamed on aliens make little sense if you go through the cultures of these places.

    3. Jules

      Jules

DUDE...aliens for sure. Man. Pass the bong. Aliens....lolz......

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Aliens created bongs that they gave to ancient people. That's how Native Americans learned what to smoke and what not.

  15. Edmond O'Brien - a decent actor that fell off my oldies radar. D.O.A. was pretty good for a public domain film. Thank you someone for the Internet Archive.

Cracked was an American humor magazine. Founded in 1958, Cracked proved to be the most durable of the many publications to be launched in the wake of Mad magazine.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Too hot really, good thing we got rain, hate to see another bad fire on the count of dryness.

  18. Isaac Haye's Live At The Sahara Tahoe just moved way up on my "to find" list

    1. southwest1

      southwest1

Got love Isaac's seduction serenade from his old man to a female musician called "Rock Me Baby" Bogie. :) "Ain't No Sunshine" isn't bad either IMO.

    2. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Rock Me Babe is on there, both those songs are. i listened to disc 2 earlier this week and I want to get my hands on it bad now.

If I ever had a baby I almost would want to raise him/her in another country but many would kill me for saying this. But, it is true....

    3. Synthetic

Congrats on becoming an uncle Bogie. I'm happy for you because you are gonna expose this kid to some great music over the years. Nice!

  20. Neil deGrasse Tyson is quickly ranking high on my favorite people list. I love this guy for calling out movies for their scientific inaccuracies, this guy is the bomb.

    1. TrueBlueHorseshoe

      TrueBlueHorseshoe

He's an incredible educator, capable of making even the most complex concepts graspable to the average individual.

    2. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Yeah, that's what I like about him. Science is not my strongest subject. I'm more into philosophy and economics, socio-economics and political science/ideology. So listening to him from time to time is very useful in learning new things.

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

I missed the 13 episode "Cosmos" series & I have never seen Mr. Tyson talk about science other than a few You Tube videos. The line that "science is sexy" & that "science...can be in both your mind & your heart" is complete nonsense to me because science is a clinical discipline without emotion. It is not a religious, world changing experience. It is looking for formulas & chemical reactions that can be duplicated every single time without fail. JMO.

  22. Eric Clapton's solo records get too much hate for odd reasons. 461 Ocean Boulevard is not a bad album by any means, I thought it was pretty good.

Thank you Bogie for posting this status update. You are the best my man! 461 Ocean Boulevard does have timeless gems on it like: Motherless child, I shot the sheriff [a Bob Marley cover], Walking Down The Road, Let it Rain, & Have U Ever Loved A Woman?" I love his Cream era stuff too. The drumming is incredible on those early recording sessions! "White Room" still holds up today as a bedrock percussion classic. :)

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

Yes, I too hold David Bowie & Stevie Nicks in high esteem & that will never ever change either.

    4. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Everything about old Cream records was the bomb. Other than Hendrix and the Mothers of Invention, I can't think of a better third band in my psychedelic craze.

  23. That poor old Super Nintendo that don't want to play Super Star Wars or Donkey Kong Country 2 anymore....too much stress from hard games for the poor thing.

That's why I like you Bogie. You have an appreciation for vintage things like vinyl records & older video games. Modern doesn't always translate into better in the longrun. :) Plus, you are gifted in a wide variety of musical artists & genres.

      Bigger isn't always better either.

  24. Line 6 amps are not worth the money. Stick with Marshall, Fender, or better yet the cheaper Orange and Vox brands - clean distortions sound way better than these expensive Line6's.
