  1. It’ll cost a LOT more. Way outside my comfort level. And even with 9 sacks I have zero interest son paying ANY nose tackle that kind of money. It’s not an anti-Wilkins thing, it’s being against paying ANY nose tackle premium money.
  2. I don’t get the comparison to signing Gilmore at 10 mill per 2/20, with trading for Sneed and paying him $15-18 mill. That would be 5/75-90. That’s something Ballard has NEVER done, so I don’t see it as a “very Ballard move”. I think Zack Hicks and Jake Arthur have made a VERY weak argument.
  3. I understand the concerns about Stewart. Your points valid. That said, I have no interest in ANY Nose Tackle at that kind of money. $18m is a complete non-starter for me. $10-12m is where my comfort level lives.
  4. How can Wilkins be a good fit for the Colts? He would likely cost $18 mill a year. I’d prefer Grover at $12m per. Id have zero interest in Wilkins.
  5. The Bills are cutting White because he tore an Achilles late last season. He’d likely miss some of the season and then not be 100 back to normal when he was playing. Much like Dayo his first year for the Colts.
  6. I think this story is badly over written. The Colts showing interest turns into “serious” interest within the story based on nothing. I think the chances of trading for Sneed are very, very small.
  7. I think Chinn is a strong safety and not a free safety which is what the Colts need.
  8. I think if that were true, the Colts wouldn’t have put the tag on him. The tag will keep offers either to a minimum or teams will just lose interest. Isn’t this pretty much standard around the league? Maybe I’m just misunderstanding your point.
  9. FWIW: The projection on McKinney is in the neighborhood of 4 years and about $56 mill. $14 mill per year. Just saying if that’s true, I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much.
  10. Perhaps you have stats to back up your claim, but coming out of college contested catches was considered an elite quality for Pittman. That was hi-lited the day he was drafted. And I think route running was also a highly ranked skill. The first three I grant you. For what it’s worth, these last few years, as we’ve been debating what Pitt is or isn’t, I’ve been saying Pitt is not a WR1, but a high level WR2. I hope we work out a long term deal that’s win-win for both sides.
  11. If these are the only two choices, then Bowers. I don’t think Ballard wants to spend Pick 15 on a corner. Maybe if the Colts trade down once or twice but that wasn’t offered as an option.
  12. The story I read about the Chiefs is that they’re not willing to trade a 2. They’re willing to trade a 3, but that’s it. And I don’t think Ballard has any interest in trading for a corner that will likely want a contract of roughly 15-18 million. I don’t see Ballard ever paying any corner that kind of money.
  13. Supe…. I think you’ve misspoken about Ogletree. In your post you’ve called him the Colts highest paid tight end. He’s not. Not even close. Ogletree makes roughly $960k. But Granson makes nearly $3.3m. Just wanted to give you a heads-up. I don’t know if that info changes your thinking at all?
  14. No worries. Funny, I never thought of you as old and cranky. I’m 67. You’re older? Is the 49 in your name your birth year?
  15. How did I start my response. “You’re free to disagree. That’s fine.” I thought I responded with respect to you. I thought we were having a conversation. I appear to have rubbed you the wrong way. I’m sorry. That was not my intention at all. You’re a long time favorite poster if mine. I was not trying to give you a hard time. Hope you’ll accept my apology?
  16. Yes, much less coach speak than normal. Answers were much more forthcoming and revealing. He was more relaxed. Glad to see it. Thanks for the link to the presser!
  17. You're free to disagree…. Thats fine. But it feels like you responded to your own claim for me. You listed two lawsuits, and added neither amounted to much. What does that tell you? I suppose anyone can sue these days. But the outcome is another story altogether.
  18. FWIW: In his press conference this morning Steichen was asked about his tight room. And he mentioned liking it and named Mo, Granson and Mallory. Im not saying that means Mo is a lock to be kept, but it would seem to be encouraging.
  19. Lawsuit? A team — any team — can cut a player at any time for any reason. There would be zero grounds for a lawsuit. If AO is eventually cut (which I’m guessing he won’t be) he’d be claimed by another team and his career would go on.
  20. FWIW: This is an updated valuation. As recently as a few weeks ago Spotrac’s projection was 4/90.
  21. Not to downplay the seriousness of what allegedly happened, but for the Colts, I’d say this is very good news. My view is AO is a diamond in the rough. Hope this post is acceptable.
  22. Last year, one of the hottest topics of conversation was the unusually large class of tall corners with very long arms. The number of corners who were 6’ tall and their arms were 32” or longer was crazy big. This year is the exact opposite. I went through a list of the top corners and only two were both 6’ tall with at least 32 inch arms. Just two. One was a Bama kid, the other was an unknown from a smaller school. There might be a few more but all I saw was two out of the top eleven. That’s it. Makes me think in part that’s why the Colts took 3 corners last year. The scouts likely knew this year was going to be very very different.
  23. Hey! I’ve been driving mostly Corolla’s for years. They’re reliable and dependable. My current is a hybrid and I’m getting 52 miles per gallon! A little respect please!
  24. Thanks for that. And yes, I wouldn’t be surprised if Wilkins gets something close to that. Sorry for the trouble.
