  1. If Ballard moves up to draft Bo Nix , I will donate $1000 to your favorite charity.
  2. You lost track of our thread I believe. That was sarcasm.
  3. I guess you can make a case for drafting a kicker as Gay missed some FGs ?
  4. Hard to get your point as there is no need for the Colts to select a QB at pick 1.15. Sure , you can make a case for anything., IMO , it would take Ballard having a lobotomy to do so. What QB at 15 would possibly be a better prospect than AR ? I understand what your saying as your really not smarter than I am . What i'm saying is there is no case to select a QB at that point in the draft . It's laughable as it would be QB # 4 or 5 in this draft. Comprende ?
  5. If it's a million to one , how would you make a legitimate case that QB is a "valid" need at pick 1.15. When Mahomes sat on the KC bench in his rookie year , did anyone think QB was a "need ?" I get your point but don't agree that QB would be a need for the Colts. I do agree that you can make a case for OL , DL , LB and secondary. TE only if Bowers fell.
  6. Barring a significant injury to AR , I would lay 50-1 that Ballard will not select a QB at 1.15. No ... make it 75-1 .
  7. I agree he was good in his first year after signing the extension. I guess you win some and you lose some. He was no doubt a great player and appeared to be a great teammate also. I just think he got a little carried away with the "chip on the shoulder" thing.
  8. He underwent ankle surgery but did play in 2021. In any event , any reasonably intelligent person would not be dissing the Colts for cutting him. He was terrible and proof of that will be his 2024 contract or lack of it.
  9. I don't think there's any question that there will be some players with great value in the 9 to 12-13 range. With 4 Qb's likely to go in the top 10 , seems like we should have a great TE , WR or edge player that should drop and be available to us with maybe a small move up ? What could throw a monkey wrench in this would be if some of the OT's dropped . It's an awfully deep OT draft and this could happen . So maybe instead of trading up , we might see just the opposite ? Wouldn't surprise me to see Ballard trade down with a team that might want to move up for a LT that dropped.
  10. By the charts , our pick 1.15 and pick 2.46 would get us to pick 1.7 value. If we side pick 15 and pick 82 , it would bring us to pick 1.11 or 1.12 value.
  11. It's not that simple. If Gay makes the FG , Texans don't start at their 47. They gained around 20 yards and kicked a long FG. How do you know what transpires if Gay makes it and the Texans start at their 25 ? Probably much different play calling . Maybe they get nothing , maybe they still get 3 or maybe they score a TD. Also the clock management and play calling for both teams could be different if the score was different. No...?
  12. Those are my 2 most painful Colt losses. Another play in the 95 game was Q Coryatt dropping an easy int that would have stopped Pittsburgh's game winning drive.
  13. Good post , I was going to mention those edge players -glad you did. I also agree with you that at 15 , a really good player should "drop" to us. Now that the agony of the "bad throw-dropped pass" is over , I'm thankful for the loss. With needs at edge , wr and cb , we should fill a big need with a top 10 player. This would be very unlikely if we held the pick around 20-21. Also , let's be honest , where were we going with Minshew at QB and add to that injuries to Brents and (again) Smith ? Plus Taylor was banged up. Painful but productive loss IMO.
  14. Not real "classy" for him to make these remarks about a team that paid him all that guaranteed money when he was injured. Really a pretty bad move by the Colts and Leonard gave them pretty much nothing for those 10's of millions. Played on a level of a PS player. I always thought a lot of him but this "chip on my shoulder " stuff is a little "worn out" ih this case. Colts certainly didn't do him any injustice and hopefully he will keep his mouth shut in the event he gets another sack where he was unblocked.
  15. What in the world happened to Thomas ? Looks like he never played a down of football in his life. 1 snap was 1 too many.
  16. We probably would be playing Cleveland without Smith , Brents and maybe even a banged up Taylor. It stings badly but we were going nowhere anyway . At least we picked up 5-6 spots in the draft. We could have an elite WR , Edge , or CB drop to us.
  17. Why do you say "it's quite a stretch." I can understand maybe thinking it's photoshopped but I don't understand why you are saying that .....

  19. I guess after this discussion , NFL coaches might consider ditching that tackle eligible play ? If OL , sometimes back-ups , are trusted to catch short passes in game defining moments , why is it absurd to trust a back up RB ?
  20. I agree . We at best could make it to the 2nd round. More likely 1 and done. Very doubtful Smith would have been back and probably no Brents and more Baker.
  21. The play should have gained around 5 yards.
  22. My goat of the game goes to D Baker Jr. On that final Texan drive , his awful attempt at a tackle turned a 3rd and around 14 into a 3rd and 4.
  23. Sorry but I'm not buying 98 out of every 100 bets on this game are placed on the Texans. Here's one I found that's quite different . Plus I would think the % of money bet is more important than the % of bets. Simply because the smart action would tend to make larger wagers than the general public. https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/nfl/public-betting-trends/
