  1. Yes we need to sign Blackmon or Diggs but maybe Scott saves us from using a draft pick for some young depth at safety ?
  2. I think the first mentioned but the MAC saga has me on the edge of my seat .
  3. Not something to count on but we do have this guy coming back this year..... https://coltswire.usatoday.com/lists/indianapolis-colts-daniel-scott-nfl-draft-things-to-know/?itm_source=parsely-api
  4. Who the heck knows and really what's the difference ? I was posting about the same to Restinpeace. It's free agency and all the premier players get crazy money. Two years from now the "extra money " we burnt in this deal won't mean dog poop. Next year the cap will probably go up a bit and a case can be made that we'll pick up an "extra " 8 mill. Don't forget we are paying off for cutting Leonard . We should have hardly any dead money next year. We can also save 6 mill on MAC which has been mentioned 79 times in this thread. I think this is a done deal as all these reports can't be erroneous ...can they ? Hopefully this is either a 3rd this year or better yet something like a 2024 and 2025 4ths. Im guessing this years 3rd and next years 4th and we get their 4th this year.
  5. Thank you and I should add to that the fact that I didn't realize Minnesota's other pick in round one is 11. So they could indeed trade up high enough to draft one of the 3 higher rated QBs.
  6. Yes , really hard to believe they want to roll with Sam D. They could never get up far enough to get 1 of the top 3 QBs and he seems to be clearly the 4th best QB .
  7. Could be they are trying to get into position to maybe take the Michigan QB ? Maybe another trade up coming ?
  8. We really don't know if Ballard is trying to trade draft compensation for a CB that will take 17 to 20 mill to sign.
  9. It's no different than ny other situation where a player is not happy with the money he's being offered .
  10. Your correct , somehow I forgot to factor in the 2.5 cap hit if released next year.
  11. Davis is basically a 1 year deal for 5.1 mill. It covers a glaring hole in the run defense when and if Grover is not on the field. It's really not 14 mill on a back up interior lineman. I understand your point but I think you are overestimating the cap allocation spent here. He's tried to provide depth with 5th and 6th rounders and really has wiffed badly . This draft is said to be really weak in rounds 4 through 7. So Ballard spent 5 mill to be on the safe side and filled a hole.
  12. He's certainly not perfect. That's why he's a back up that's scheduled to make 4.7 mill. Not a lot considering Minshew is 2 years at 24 mill and Darnold signed 1 year for a legit 10 mill.
  13. Nelson seems to have chronic health issues that have affected his play and Buckner is getting a little old in the tooth . I think Smith is the least of the 3 "evils."
  14. I think it's been years since the Colts kicked the salary cap can down the road ? I think if they were to % gears now , Smith would be the most likely .
  15. Spotrac shows us with 32 mill for the top 51. I'm thinking that when the contract details came out on the last few signings , the 2024 cap was lower than expected ? By those numbers we have more than 17 to 20 mill left or am I reading Spotrac incorrectly ?
  16. Titans have over 70 mill in cap space. They will sign Simmons or trade for Snead .
