  1. Pretty sure Manning is the only QB to win three different divisions in his career. Brady is still stuck with one. :P

Manning has 9 total and Brady has 10 divisional championships. But they both can collectively thank the NY Jets, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, and Jacksonville Jaguars for that, at least in part.

  2. Eh, I think the thing with that is the fact that Rex Ryan is tied to Mark Sanchez, he was his first ever draft pick as a head coach. Mularkey, however, is not bound to Gabbert in any way. He could bring Tebow in to revitalize both the fanbase and the team. Tebow has one more playoff win on his belt than Gabbert, anyway...Lol.

I take joy in this only because it causes Steelers fans great pain. :)

  3. Completion percentage and interception rates aren't something that change when you apply them to a larger sample size by virtue of the fact that they are rates. If Griffin threw as often as Luck you'd be forced to assume that he'd have the same completion percentage and roughly 1.7 times as much yardage, TDs, and INTs. The kind of projection you're really hoping for is virtually impossible because of the number of dependent variables in the equation.

But you couldn't make that assumption because success rate and the number of attempts per game are probably negatively correlated.

I think that was hoosiercoltsfans point.

  4. This type of extrapolation causes some anomalies... for example in reality RG3 has thrown 5 passes over 41 yards, completing 1 of them for a 68 yard touchdown. With this type of calculation and using the other guys yardage attempts %, but their own ypa, that TD is stretched to 95 yards. The calculation gives him 68 yards divided by 5 attempts or 13.6 YPA. Using Luck's 1.2 attempts of that length per game(6) and that YPA computes that split as 1/7 with 7 attempts at his 13.6 YPA, coming to the 95 yard total.

Again, it's just a hypothetical look. So much is made of RG3, throwing short, and Luck throwing longer passes, which is a fair point, but this is a look at the guys own production, but only using the other guys passing attempts via the yardage split.

Just a look for those that are interested in the topic.

Wow. The real numbers are a great indication at how badly our screen game has been this year. I can't remember a single effective one off the top of my head.

  5. and by the way the way he was signed to the redskins should be considered tampering...i mean 5 minutes into free agency and he already has a 5 year $$$$$$$$$$ contract? wth?

and that thing about Ngata...i8 knew he was injured didnt know he had an MCL...thats just amazing that body and still playing with a torn knee? honestly i dont think we cant ask anyone to do that, thats just out of the ordinary.

He just wanted out of town for whatever reason. The skins basically offered him the same contract he rejected from us and he snapped it up.

  6. They're 2-3 and one game behind Sand Diego after playing a brutal opening schedule including 3 of the hottest teams in the league. If they beat San Diego next week they're first.

Seriously, they got gashed by New England, Atlanta and Houston but still had a chance to win in every game. They'll be fine. The back half of the schedule is much more friendly.

  7. He did admit it. He said he didn't think he did it at the time, but when he saw the game tape it was undeniable:

"As far as pushing the defender, I was caught up in the moment, playing football. At that point, it was just like backyard football -- find a way to get the ball. I didn't intentionally try to shove him to the ground," he said, according to the newspaper.

Errors like this are on the refs, not the players.

  8. I agree with those who say much of it is due to Andrew escaping many sacks.

Which begs the question though. Why can't an Aaron Rodgers escape the sacks as well? Is Rodgers just holding onto the ball too long?

I knew this thread would be an active one. :cheer2:

Maybe some day Rodgers will be on the same level as Luck (or is that the other way around). :)
