  1. I'm in disbelief that our fans are dissing this team.  Sure, we may have not done well tonight, but all in all, we have way overachieved over and above anyone's expectations.  Now is the time to let them all know how much we appreciate all the wonderful winning moments they gave us this season... I'm sure they are much more disappointed in the outcome than anyone of us could possibly be.

    Lets all just hug

  2. Besides the awful INT's, punting on 4th and 1 down by 21 is absolutely atrocious coaching. Inexcusable. I'm still in disbelief.

I was in shock over this too. Add this to his terrible time management and shaky assistant coaching staff and I have to wonder if Pagano is the right guy at all.

  3. >Reitz

    Why

I dont understand the whole Holmes and Reitz inactives as well. Kinda just think this Holmes must just blow chunks. He needs to get those pics so many other garbage players have had over the years. Perhaps Mcglyn has the last and only copies now ;)
  4. I believe division winners in each conference play against each other every year.  So Colts vs. Pats is likely to continue for several more years.  We are on top of our division and are continually improving while the Pats run their division.

Miami should be poised to take a run at that division, not sure what Buffalo is and the Jets, if they get improved ball security and better decision making from their qb, they have the ability in another year or 2 to dig into that division topside as well. Buffalo is just a place where players go for a big payday evey once in awhile and then never get heard from again.
  5. Him and Landry were my two favorite additions at the beginning of the year. He has shown more than enough that he is worth the contract we gave him.

I was glad to see these 2 signings too although reviewing them at this stage of the year, Landry has been just a smidge above avg and really hasn't given us the big impact plays we should be getting from that spot imo. If we had a competent RG, we might have even better play from Cherilous than we've already seen but I like he has given us to date.

  6. My respect fornthe pats come from such excellent coaching of this team over the years. They may not have always had the best talent as some other teams but they had a well built oline, a smart qb and bb getting players to be in position in a system regardless of skill set level. Brady has played with some pretty low name wr's over the years whom do just enough to move chains and get close to be able to score. The defense he fields just makes solid plays and are always in positions to make plays. Its amazing how many cb's he has fielded over the years and lb'ers to the system that just look way better than they are because of the way they are coached up and put into the proper spots to succeed mostly. Simply incredible. Not saying they wont win or lose but with bb, that oline and tom throwing, the pats have a chance to win every year and as a colts fan, that has been frustrating that I have respect their game that much

  7. Manusky defense has been too vanilla and its too predictable. Every team we play knows were gonna play man coverage 95% of the game and they beat us with rub and crossing routes. Now, he doesn't have a good d-line to work with but he still has to switch it up sometimes.

He needs to call more zone blitzes and sometimes drop a DE in coverage over the middle and blitz a ILB. Or overload blitz to one side dropping Mathis, Mcnary, and RJF in coverage and blitz Freeman, Redding, Werner, and Chapman to confuse the defense. Rex Ryan is great at disguising and mixing up coverage, Manusky needs to do more of that.

When I watch this defense play I just think meh. With that and his past history of such mediocre defenses, I could certainly be fine with not having him back next year and looking into another 3-4 defensive minded coach with moxy. Manusky is not the worst dc but he certainly hovers around average imho.

Yup. And there are meetings throughout the week when Manusky and Pagano talk about the defensive game plan. That said, I really hope that Manusky is gone after this season...I want him back with the Chargers. :D

My concern with this statement is about pagano. He was supposed to be the saviour and defensive guru for our team and we have seen about as much vanilla defense as you tend to see in preseason games. Maybe pagano is nothing more than a beneficiaries guy from the prior dc of baltimore because this defense has shown little in the way of disguises and hybrid play. So either pagano isn't really that defensive guru, isn't able to get manusky to change or we just are at the talent level to play this avg. Of course I always look at what BB does with players off the street and he gets them into positions to just make football plays, it just makes one wonder, does BB just make things so simple for his system that it works while everyone else tries to get so complicated that it fails?

Short of it is that I feel like manusky could be replaced and we wouldnt even notice it and possibly get upside with new blood

  8. I want no part of this alcoholic on our team or driving god forbid within our community. We had to make an example out of him, because he involved our team and name. The group madd would‘ve came down hard on us, if he wasn‘t canned. Yes, i am aware that he wasn‘t driving...this time. What about next?...

O judgemental are we? Alcholic and you know this from his medical history? And I don't care if MADD, SADD, PETA or any other hypocrictical organization doesn't like someone the colts sign or resign, its not there business and if they have a suite in the stadium, they can choose to give up their seats. People are so dang tightly strung anymore that they are so worried what everyone thinks about them. Jeez, we are such politically correct wussies in this country anymore, no wonder we have fallen off the ledge.

Now the reason I wouldn't want him back would be he threatened the police officer, not because he said he was a colt. If I was a colt and got in trouble, better believe I'd mention it too

  9. True, but there is no doubt the patriots secondary will try to mug and hold our receivers early on in the game.

    Thats the way they play.

Belichick will take full advantage if the refs dont call the penalties.

And a good coach will get as much out of the rules as the refs will allow and adjust from there. The one thing tony dungy did not do and it cost us plenty of post season wins although we didn't have press corners back then either but they mugged us and let their guys run clean. I'm not sure we are much further with heavy press guys at this point of the season. I think pags will test the level of the refs allowance to defend though.
  10. I dont know why read option is such a dirty word amongst some of you. It's not like we are basing an entire offense of it like some college team. It worked.

The play against the 49ers wasnt the same.

Because there is this thing called internet ego and everyone has to be right whether it's legit or technically speaking. I'm more like it was a great play that got great results at the right time. I do wished they had a few designed runs for luck just to keep that upfront in the minds of the rushing defense.
  11. I was there and yes there was booing at halftime as they were going in, I was one of them. My boos were directed at the defense but overall, the whole team recieved it and played better after the int luck threw right out of the gate in the 3rd q. And yes, they deserved every boo plus some that they got, they did not play up to NFL standards at home.

  12. Me and my buddy contemplated taking off after the halftime and then seeing the pick out of the gate, it was hard to sit there and watch what had been a pretty crappy defense and some spotty offense up to that point. But I have never left a game just because they are behind or ahead and I'm glad we stuck to it Saturday. All I could think was we would start scoring but would we stop them from scoring with enough time left to pass them up and making it meaningful. Top 3 games I have ever seen from these colts and the crowd was loud most of the night and certainly loud in the 4th quarter when it finally became apparent this game could be won.

  13. Yes that is true but he has 29 receptions and 1 TD. Got to give him some credit at the very least.

And I think the best way to play him is pass short and let him run, rather than let him run long then catch.

It was always a low risk high reward sort of deal. We didn't pay an over the top amount for him. This was a prove yourself year for him and sadly he didn't but now we know what he is capable of. His occasional drop didn't effect us too badly considering we went 11-5 and we have a playoff win.

Yes low risk and cheap enough pay. I do think a more seasoned OC would have done the short slants and short passes to maximize his talents because in Oakland and now here, he has proven he isn't a deep threat guy becuae his hands/eye coordination doesn't let him succeed well enough but he has been able to catch most of the quick passes or the screens. Idk why we didn't draw up more of those plays for him instead of the long passes that he kept dropping. I would keeep him though for right around league minimun but not much more.
  14. One thing I have noticed is he is a good blocker. Think it might be an idea to move him to TE on a few snaps, may create mismatches? i don't know.

Plus i'm sure one team will sign him with his speed, plus his hands aren't that bad. Could still be good for about 20/30 catches a season. Only thing is how many drops will he have.

What do you mean his hands aren't that bad, his hands have been his worst attribute. Thats not a good thing for a wr. I think if we kept him for special teams and toss in a few plays for him that are quick slants or short crossing routes, he could be successful but to have him run deep routes and expect him to catch it, thats just unrealistic from what we have seen all season. The fact that Pagano gave him sooooooo long to prove he was bad instead of going to any other wr, that might be enough loyalty for DHB to come back and rebuild from special teams and up instead of trying to prove it from the wr spot. Too much pressure for him I think.
  15. I've said it before if winning the Super Bowl is the only way you think you had a good season then you are going to be disappointed just about every year you follow your team is going to be a bad season.

Enjoy the ride.  Honestly if anyone had told you about midway through the fourth quarter of the Saints game two years ago that the Colts would win 11 games the next two seasons and make the playoffs both years including winning the division the second year and they were going to do this after cutting Peyton Manning and gutting the roster and there was no way to get around either of the later two things which of us wouldn't have signed up for that in a heart beat?

Honestly our fan base is so spoiled at times I am not sure how other teams fans put up with us.  We had Peyton Manning for 13 years one bad season and then got Andrew Luck and some complain like we've been the Jags for the past 20 years.  We've 10 or more games 13 of the past 15 years.  That just doesn't happen in the NFL unless you are the Colts or the Pats.  Look at KC would you like to trade places with them?  They haven't won a playoff game in 20 years and haven't been to the Super Bowl in since Super Bowl IV.

Some fans just need to enjoy the here and now and not have such crazy ridiculously high expectations that unless you win a Super Bowl you are displeased with the season.

I am a paying fan and it is always the teams expectations that they make the super bowl or the season was a failure. They say it all the time. I have the same expectation. If they do not make it to a super bowl, the season was for nothing. My season ticket is $1260 every year. My post season tickets come out and cost me more so yeah, I am kind of invested in the team and expect some form of reward at the end. If I was a fan who sits at home and not paying for season tickets, I would probably care less whether they made the super bowl trip or not perhaps but it is what it is. not jumping off a bridge though because they didn't make it.

  16. You're either not a Colts fan or one of the worst fans out there.

It is really difficult to sweep your division no matter how bad it is. How many other teams did that this year? ZERO!

The Colts weren't handed 6 wins.

Okay Arizona and St. Louis "throttled" us.

We barely lost to Miami and SD.

The Cincinnati game was still very winnable especially had the refs not handed Cincinnati 7 points.

If this team is not for real, how do you explain us sweeping the division, and beating Seattle, Denver, and San Francisco?

Pretty sure I am a Colts fan or otherwise I have wasted a lot of cash on my season tix over the past 17 years or so. As for the worst fan, I am sure there are far worse out there than me. So you must think the AFC South division is a strong division, right? Playoff contenders at all 4 teams? I can sit here today and say I honestly have no idea how we beat Seatle or how in the world we beat Denver but we did and thats great. The fact remains, we don't have the best of coaching right now in all phases. Pagano and staff have done well in the fundamentals of not turning the ball over and not causing penalties. Pagano has not figured out how to and when to use time outs correctly near the halves. Pagano either has directed his coordinators to use certain players when its clear to almost everyone else but him that certain players have outplayed said starters. So you can be the pom pom holding fan who sees the glass half full and let me sit back and see the glass half empty and we can walk our separate paths just happy little clams. One  of us is right, who cares.

  17. Year 2 of a complete rebuild and we have won 22 games. Sorry, Im not going to complain. I have the feeling if we had won all 32 regular season games and went unscored on, you would be complaining about the other team getting an occassional a first down.

If you can't see their are flaws in the coaching or the way they have called games, *, they are a young coaching staff and have improved towards the end but they have had several WTH moments so far. If they put out the line up of Satele and Mcfly on Saturday after the struggles these two clowns have had together yet watching Reitz and even a new OT play gaurd better, I will have to again question what they are doing/seeing that we fans are not. Saying they have had some questionable coaching decisions is far from calling for their heads or anything like that so maybe you could back off the hypebole just a bit. js

  18. Even when we played Denver this year..

The crowd was so loud I actually felt like I was at the game.

That was an energized crowd that day for sure. Not much sitting down all game. I like it when you can't hear yourself scream although it hasn't happened in this stadium, that last playoff game we had at the old dome, that was LOUD!!
  19. I wonder how effective Redding will be after the shoulder injury. Being out a few weeks should at least have given his old legs a rest and give him a bit more pep in the tank maybe?? What worries me the most is if we have to see Vaughn out there on the defensive side of the ball. I'm hoping the treatment that Davis had on his groin all week holds up for at least 4 more games :)

  20. Right..we were given 6 divisional wins in a division most pundits said we would finish 2nd or 3rd in. Can you please explain how we won the other 5 games (San Fran, Seattle, Denver, KC, Oakland) Also you didnt address least turnovers in the NFL. Did the other teams give us a break there too?

Jags are bad, Houston won the first pick in the draft this year and Tennessee just isn't there in talent yet and their coach was rumored to be on the hot seat. That's 6 easy games I don't care what pundits predict, they are often wrong. I honestly have no idea how we won against Denver, Seattle or San Fran but they did and congrats. They almost got beat by Oakland. By Oakland!! Miami beat us at LOS. Arizona throttled us. St. Louis throttled us. Cincy throttled us. Sad Diego beat us soundly. Only the last 2 made the playoffs of those teams that beat us. Game plans and adjustments sucked.

What I will give the coaching credit for is the discipline to make as few of penalties as they did and not turning over the ball. I do give them credit for getting the team prepared following a loss as well. Some good fundamentals coaching. Decision making however I question. They have resisted in playing the better olineman and stuck with satele at center when he clearly has been garbage for 2 seasons. We continued for too long to use trich properly to what our line can block. Just kept running him straight into a solid wall of people for losses. Defense stayed in man even in the face of getting beat on every play in several games. Just stuck with it when clearly they faired better once they got into some zone. The coaching either isn't getting on the coordinators and for into them to adjust quicker or they are telling them to stay the course. Either way they took to long to adjust. Past 3 games have been against teams not so great and I put KC in that group sort of; paper tigers IMO. We are going to trot satele out there at center when we should be putting Mcfly at center and reitz at LG with Thorton at RG but they will use Satele and Mcfly because they are stubborn/stupid. Coaching is young and they have improved near the end of the season so I give them credit for that and hope with an offseason together they can fix some issues of play calls and personnel. I hope they can have honest discussions of who is best for this team moving forward. We shall see. If Satele is still on the 2014 roster that will tell us a lot. And get rid of the FB spot, it's a wasted position for this team the way it's constructed.
