I thought this was a 4 win team to start the season. From my perspective, I really enjoyed watching them overachieve most of the year. I had no emotional buy-in for the last game, I just enjoyed a meaningful January game knowing this team wouldn't go far thereafter with a W. I had super low expectations all year and rather enjoyed the season. Steichen is a gem, Gus is a good DC (I would like to see more timely blitzing), and Ballard needs to make an impact in 2024. I'm a Ballard fan, full disclosure, but you are what your record says you are and we're far enough into his tenure now that he needs to put up in 2024 or we need to weigh options. Minshew may be the best back-up in the NFL but he lacks physicality, not strong enough in the pocket or arm strength, but great number 2. Pittman earned every penny, 28 needs to stay healthy, Buck is the best player in the NFL that nobody respects, and I love Q, especially on the pull plays. I think Mallory may be sneaky good in the future , Downs is so refreshing to watch, and I see 14 on the bubble, just not enough production...maybe that's because of Minshew's limitations. Our young corners show promise but need to be more physical in the run/tackling game, especially 40. To me, AR is a considerable question mark still if Minshew can take this team to 9-8, I would expect AR to do the same or better with a year of coaching under his belt. How about this...do we draft a QB if a good one is available? Anyway, relative to expectations, for me, it was a good year...I'd hate to make a habit of low expectations. Go Horse!

There's too much we don't know about the internal 'goings on' I doubt this was rash or spontaneous in any way by either party.
