You didn't miss much. 1 thing he did say is, he has money to work with AR being under rookie contract. So maybe he will make more offseason moves which will please many in here.

Those rookie QB contracts really are great…San Francisco in particular is living the good life paying Purdy essentially chump change for the impact he’s having.

Great win yesterday by the way. If you guys beat the Ravens (assuming you play them), I will be really impressed and call your season a very good one at that point. I am fair about things as you know.

Yep, it’s either Ravens or Chiefs…Man if we’re able to pull off a win against either and punch a ticket to the AFCCG for the first time, I will get a Stroud or Meco tattoo 😂 And I’m not saying where!

I'm a Braves fan in baseball, and I remember in 2021 the Braves had the worst record of any team in baseball that made the playoffs and they won the World Series. Anything can happen. Of course the next 2 years we have the best record in baseball and lose to the Phillies in the divisional round both years. Sports are weird in the playoffs. You have a shot. Enjoy the moment!

True, true…once you’re in anything can happen. That’s what’s great about playoff baseball and football, I lament that the NBA tends to be so predictable on that note though 😂

Congrats on winning the division and winning a playoff game so far. Stroud looks great. Used him in fantasy bestball and he won me a decent amount of money. You have a great GM in Caserio, and your team looks miles ahead of what it was three years ago. Wish you the best of luck in your playoff journey!

If only I would’ve had the confidence early in the year to try and grab him to be my starter in fantasy 😂 Thanks for the good wishes, the AFC is loaded but hey, we’ll see how things go!

Good luck next week. With that said we have no reason to think that we can’t beat the Texans.  Nothing revisionist about resting your starters yielding horrible results. It happens every year.  Yes,  Stroud did look relieved.  You won’t be able to back into a division title next year.

Thanks, I’m sure the boys will be up to the challenge. I’m not saying that the Colts can’t beat us; I’m just saying give credit where credit is due. What starters did this incredible Cleveland Browns team with their terrifying defense and Cool Joe Flacco rest? We beat them fair and square, quite handily, after everyone and their mom said (and hoped and prayed) that we wouldn’t stand a chance.
Hey, we won the important games and earned a playoff spot. Jacksonville losing was just a Cherry on top. You’re right, strange things happen every year. Wouldn’t be the first time a team imploded the last game of the year with the playoffs on the line…

congrats on the win and finding your QB. Don’t mind all the Colts fans who are losing their minds. I for one want the AFC South to be successful, iron sharpens iron, and I’m sick of the rest of the league calling our division trash.

Thanks! And you’re right, iron sharpens iron. Playing against good, familiar competition multiple times a year can help make a team better. Like the days of the Steelers/Ravens/Bengals during the Roethlisberger and Reed years….

But he has beaten a real team. The Browns were the fifth-seeded team and had been playing really well, especially on defense. Most thought the Browns would win because they thought the Browns' highly rated defense would stop a rookie QB.

Stroud has shown more than enough. Had he lost yesterday, it would not have diminished how well he has played this year.

This. No one thought the Texans could pull it off, that the Browns were going to demolish us again. So much for that. Stroud is the OROY and has played damn good throughout the year. His poise and maturity is enough for me to believe he will continue to get better going forward and not randomly fall off a cliff like some people seem to think.

I think you guys are getting a little ahead of yourselves here. I wanted Stroud as much as any one on here did last year, but Richardson is the real deal anyways so it doesn't matter as long as both stay healthy there will be some epic battles between the 2 going forward. What outstanding stellar play did the texan make last week that prevented the 4 and one play from working????? I don't recall one, I saw a dropped pass by a WIDE OPEN Colt that would have been a first down and the drive would have continued. One other thing for comparison, people on here blab about the powerful Bengal team- you know Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Mixon, blah, blah, blah. Well in retrospect, the 3rd worst roster in the nfl(steelers) is in the same division as the Bengals and they have made the playoffs 3 times since Burrow entered the league to the bengals 2. Last nights game was more a testament to how bad the Browns are, with a qb signed off the street in November, than how good the texans are. Remember folks, we actually beat the browns, ravens, and steelers this past season, not bad with a back up qb for all 3 games. (yes, we did beat the browns, the refs suck).

Um…the Texans made several stellar plays throughout that game, actually, which is why the Colts needed to make the 4th and 1 (and to score, too) in the first place. We can nitpick plays and play what if, but Stroud and the Texans did what had to all game to win.
And let’s not be revisionist about this Browns team. Most thought the Texans stood no chance against Flacco Reborn and the number one vaunted Browns defense. But now that we made them look silly, they’re bad all of a sudden? Nah.

I think we will. I hope so and hopefully it is a good one. Do you like anyone in particular?

Penix looks great, but as someone else mentioned, he’s been playing for a long time. Bennett last year had the same issue but Penix looks like a better prospect in my unprofessional opinion.
I like Quinn Ewers but something about him is…I don’t know if I can see him as an actual franchise QB. Williams looks like the real deal despite his attitude problem but I haven’t seen enough of Maye to have a real opinion on him.

The Texans have their future QB. I hope the Vikings find theirs this coming year.

DeMeco Ryans may win Coach of the Year.

This upcoming draft class is supposedly very deep, so I wouldn’t doubt that you guys look into a possible heir apparent to Cousins.

Congrats, last nights game was a classic. We had you but couldn't get a 4th and 1. It looks like you may win the division. Jags are laying an egg.

Thanks. Yeah it turned out to be a dogfight, more so than I expected given how things went at the beginning. Congrats on a good season that was better than anyone predicted or expected y’all to have. And yep I’m keeping tabs on the Jags game at work as we speak 😂

Hey there, Qwiz. We see you after a Texans win? This Vikings fan is still active here. Too bad we won't be joining you in the postseason.

    (So many typos. Lol)

Hey how’s it going! Yeah I’ve been busier than usual but I checked in earlier this week in advance of the game to see how everyone was feeling. Good and mature responses from the posters here, I was anxious but this team is highly improved with Stroud and Meco and it shows!

I thought you guys were gonna be playoff bound when Josh Dobbs was showing out despite it being his first weeks with a new team! Sad to hear it didn’t work out, Jordan Love has come into his own it seems…

I'm not underselling AR bc the truth is he has accuracy issues. I don't think there is anyone who will tell you he is anywhere near Stroud in terms of being a pocket passer. I think it's something he can do in the future.  It would be foolish to draft AR and ask him to come right in as a pocket passer in the manner they've asked Stroud to do.  But this was not meant to be an AR versus Stroud conversation at all. It is a Stroud convo. And there's always room for an accurate pocket passer who can't run. Brady was just in the Super Bowl a couple years back. I don't think any team will bypass a QB who can't run that well but he is a beast at passing. There is room for both QB profiles.

Yep. It is okay to give one player his props without having to compare or drag down another player. There seems to be a myth that the pure pocket passer has faded away. The elite QBs make plays in the pocket and can get on the move as well if need be.

Stroud is 1 dimensional. That is the only problem I have with him. AR is Dual. If Stroud has all day to throw, then yes he is good. In other words, I don't trust Houston giving him a great line.

Meh. Just because he doesn’t like to run a lot doesn’t mean he is incapable of doing so. Any QB is going to excel if they have “all day” to throw, no one wants to be hassled in nonstop in the passing game. The Texans have already invested heavily in the O-line, through the draft and in free agency (Tunsil, Tytus, Mason, Scruggs, Green, etc.) They have just been devastated by injuries and still managed to destroy Jacksonville yesterday.

If Stroud had a good Line, I think he does have the potential to be good. He likes throwing from the pocket a lot. I will be rooting for you guys this week.

Ha, we’ll need it. The Jags are the big boys in the division now until someone else can prove otherwise. I think Stingley got hurt too so Trevor will likely have a field day with our DBs.

I know Colts have a tough game this week too, but the Ravens are definitely looking a lot more beatable than they have in years past. Good luck!

Stroud has been sacked 11 times so far. 5 by the Ravens and 6 by us. It is a matter of time something happens to him too. You can't take those kinds of hits every week.

Things will get better when the Texans get their actual starters back on the line out there. Having second and third stringers playing naturally leads to the run game suffering and the QB getting hit more.

I predict the Colts will win, but the Texans will make it close. Stroud is questionable to play.

AR has to protect himself better.  Hopefully, that will come with some practice.

Stroud had a sore throwing shoulder and was resting it, apparently. He’s probably going to start.

Basically, a new era for both teams. Sunday will be interesting. As funny as this sounds, this is a big game because the division is winnable. Titans are average now and although I think the Jags are good, they are beatable. We played them great for 3 and half Qtrs last week.

Yeah Jacksonville still has this aura of a team that’s good but is still new to it and may not be sure how to keep it sustained. They do have Pederson and Lawrence, so they’re definitely going to keep trending up. But you’re right, they aren’t the Chiefs or Bengals just yet.

Every time. I’m sure people will overreact with our rookies after every game… For the record, I think Stroud is one cool cat. I’m pulling for all of the young guys.

Yep, typical haha. People see some rookies come out of the great with all-time first years and start expecting it out of every guy, unrealistically. Appreciate ya man, I see Anthony is much further along in his development and gameplay than anyone could have expected. If everything shakes out right we could see these two going at it, along with T-Law, for a long time.

Burrow was getting plenty of flak in the tri-state IN-KY-OH area earlier this week. Lots of “gets paid and this is what happens” comments.

It’s all ridiculous. Both QBs will bounce back.

This is what happens. People sit around and wait for top players to have a bad game or two to come in and sentence them to death. Those same people vanish when the players get back to what we usually see from them.
