    Now what makes you think that Grigson needs to swallow his pride? He has done a great job so far and has alot of cap room to work with this up coming season. It's easy to sit in your chair and do some shadetree GM work without knowing all the facts. He took a team that was 2-14 to a wild card spot and then on to a division crown with a playoff win. All without some of his best players not on the field.

    You bring up a lot of points but times changes and good things do come to an end. All of the wins were great as a Colts fan and was sure fun to watch. The other side of the coin is the record in the playoffs. These losses can not be blamed on Manning but the buck had to be stopped somewhere. Irsay and all of the Colts fans were treated to fantastic QB play for 14 years. But the bottom line is one super bowl win with the caliber of Manning is unacceptable. 11 of the 14 years were greeted with maybe this year. I am sorry I cant agree with your assessment of Polian. He was a good evaluator of talent and made efforts but the bottom line he didn't know how to run the cap and business side of being a GM. He was not interested in changing with the game or it's players. He stubbornness with never varying to test waters for finding quality players put Manning and the Colts fans always wanting more. Sad part is Manning has to carry the badge of the greatest QB that couldn't win the big ones when they counted. That falls directly on Polain.

    Another plus to having a good running game is controlling the ball and clock. The other team can't score if they don't have the ball. Also the defense has time to rest and or regroup if needed. Yeah it would be exciting to see Luck throw the ball all over the place but as Colt fans we have all been witness as how that works out come playoff time. Very well written blog divineprodigy. In an earlier forum there was a debate on Luck throwing for some ungodly amount of yards and TDs. I will stand firm in my opinion of total ball control. Yes I would like to see Luck do very well but that is measured in wins, not huge QB numbers.

    Polian may have been one of the best at finding talent but his judgement can be in question in running the business end of a team. He also put all the eggs in one basket with Manning. We sat for quite a few years and watched as Manning would get the Colts into the playoffs just to watch a less than average defense and special teams play give it away. Were the Colts really that good? Regular season, yes. Playoffs, No. The Colts were REAL lucky to have the right to draft Luck after the total flop of Polians two QBs in Painter and Collins.

    *- You have no clue as to what took place. It was a joke that was played on the Steeler fan by his friend and the coach. The Steeler fan got to meet a couple of coaches after practice and got a free Luck jersey that he gave to his friend. It would be smart for you to know you're facts before running you're uninformed mouth. The steeler fan was told he would be escorted out by a joking Pagano. It was all done and said in fun with a touch of sarcasm. How dare you talk about the Colts fans after the way outside fans are treated in Pittsburgh. I was there a few years ago for a game and got threatened and had beer and trash thrown on me.
