  1. Our 2010 #1 - Jerry Hughes (at least he has a sack this year)

Next pick - #32 NO - Patrick Robinson (corner) - 5 games started this year, 2 INT

Our 2009 #1 - Donald Brown (doing better this year)

Next pick - #28 BUF - Eric Wood (center) - injury prone starter

Our 2008 #1 - Traded for Tony Ugoh

Next pick - #27 SD - Antoine Cason (corner) - took two years to become a full starter

Our 2007 #1 - Anthony Gonzalez - Could have been good if he had stronger knees

Next pick - #33 AR - Alan Branch (DT) - did not become a starter until this year

Our 2006 #1 - Joseph Addai - Decent runner, Excellent blocker

    Next pick - #31 SEA - Kelly Jennings - not a starter

It seems we have just been picking after the talent drops off for a few years. The picks after ours have not been effective.

Has anyone heard of these guys?

  2. This only affects us in the HIGHLY unlikely scenario we trade the #1 pick (or even MORE unlikely scenario that we don't get it). It in effect pushes all the other players back a spot (someone you thought would be picked at #10 will be #11).

I see us keeping the #1 and taking Luck, St Louis getting the #2 and picking up a WR, and the Vikes getting Kalil with the #3.

  3. I want our front office to get as many chances as they need to evaluate how Peyton is progressing. If he is not ready to go, I don't want to pay him the money he is lined up to make. PERIOD. Peyton is the Colts organization's Golden Boy, but I don't want to pay a man in street clothes that much CAP. This is a business decision, and I would have tried to rework his contract after the SECOND surgery!

I hope he comes back and blows the record books out of the water, but I still don't want to pay him until I know he can play.

  4. Many fans don't mind losing this season because to many fans this season doesn't really count. Without Manning, what does this season matter? The Super Bowl is out of reach at this point...

I would rather we win at least two out of the last three games, but still retain the #1 pick. Many see this debacle of a season to be what we needed to bring changes to this organization. Our front office has grown complacent over the years, and now they are being forced to wake up.

I find it hard to hope for a 16-0 season when my team is already 0-13... That does not make me less of a fan... I want to see my team in the best position to succeed in the long run, even if I have to cheer through a winless season.

  5. QBs hold a lot more value in this league than DBs do. Carson Palmer was traded for a First AND a Second round pick yet Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was dealt away for practically nothing. I consider DRC to be a better player for his position than Palmer right now. If we take Luck AND HE PLAYS TO HIS POTENTIAL, he is a better value than any defensive player in the draft. We still have other picks to add talent to the team.

  6. I'd say there are more players locked into the first round than just Luck but that's a different discussion. I realize all this, that things will change by the end of the year. I realize some players will rise and some will fall etc. I was merely trying to point out that, as of current projections, the OPs mock was rather unrealistic. However if, by the time April rolls around, each of the players mentioned has dropped the 1/2 to 2 rounds from where they're projected now and we can draft them in the positions listed then by all means...assuming we'd still want to draft them if they fell like that because falling multiple rounds typically is not a good thing.

But hey, if we're going on the "no player is locked into a round" then here's my mock draft:

    round 1: Morris Claiborn

    round 2: Cordy Glenn

    round 3: Michael Floyd

    round 4: Manti Te'o

    round 5: Quinton Coples

    round 6: Brandon Thompson

    round 7: Mark Barron

I assume you pick up Luck as an undrafted free agent?

  7. Pollak is still young (only 26!), and is showing promise in a lot of areas. I think that in five years or so, a line of Costanzo, McClendon, Kirkpatrick, Pollack, Ilalana is going to terrorize people.

On a side note, if Mr. Waylon does not want Mike's autograph, that's his matter. If Mike goes on to turn out to be a pro bowl caliber player one day, he may regret it. There is no reason to fly off the handle about the subject. Mike is a big boy, and I'm sure he can take a little rejection.

MOST OF US FANS ARE STILL ROOTING FOR YOU MIKE!

  8. It's not that our second and third string guys aren't as good as other teams second and third string; we just have a tendency to pull people faster than other teams. The Rams had Bradford and Cadillac out there against our second and third string for a while.

We try to get our young guys playing time against veterans, and it pays off when we have a season like last year when everyone went down with injuries! Our fourth string DB's still played well enough to get us into the playoffs. That is why we will rarely win preseason games.

  9. Ochocinco isn't a traditional "deep threat" but where the Patriots were weak last year, as evidenced by the way the Jets played them in January, is outside. Welker and Branch are more or less the same type of player. Tate is unproven, as is Taylor Price. They needed a solid outside receiver, someone a little bigger than Welker or Branch who could keep the corners near the sidelines and complement the strength of the Patriots "between the numbers" passing game.

And I have a room he can rent for a mere $5,000/week.

Who let this man in the room?

  10. I'm getting superstitious about this. Everytime I buy a jersey for myself or my wife, the player leaves the team. I have a James, Stokley, June, Harrison and Sanders jersey. All bought the year before they left! I will never buy another jersey unless it's custom!

  11. Manning

    Edge or faulk

    Harrison, Wayne, Brandon stokley

    Dilger and Clark

Tarik Glenn, Ryan lilja, jeff Saturday, jake Scott, Adam meadows

Freeney, the goose, booger, Chad bratzke

David thornton, mike peterson, Cato June

Any corners (maybe even Nick Harper)

    Bob sanders and mike doss

  12. The perfect scenario would be for Kevin Thomas to turn into the next coming of Deion Sanders, but in reality I'm fine with Powers and Lacey. Lacey and Tryon are close to equals in my book, and I don't see why everyone's hating on Lacey. The kid is going to develop into a quality starter. Lacey needs to develop a better press and get better at recognizing play action and double moves, but his coverage is solid and he plays the ball well when it's in the air. I also think he plays the run better than Tryon (just my opinion).

Hopefully our line forces enough bad passes to make anyone look good.
