SYou know I read that phrase & yet I still know some announcer will still say "With Dez in the lineup & the matchup nightmare he typically is for DBs, is Dallas truly done?"

You watch some caboose hole up in the press box will say this next week. Mark my words...It reminds me of a Monty Python film called "The Meaning Of Life" where a patient is hooked up to a machine that goes "ping" or beeps to show hospital administrators that this treatment facility bought the most expensive machine possible for a patient's welfare to keep them alive. There's only 1 problem: The overpriced toy doesn't work & it still 'pings' whether the patient lives or dies.

That's how I feel about the Cowboys: NFL analysts & broadcasters give Dallas their 'ping' seal of playoff approval even after the league has declared them legally dead on the table. Ping...See what I mean? I give up...

So you're comparing the Cowboys to Monty Python? That sounds about right. Seriously. I liked "The Meaning of Life." Monty Python was always one of my favorite shows.

As long as Dez plays, there's a chance, right? Probably if you live in a fantasy world with unicorns and rainbows and such.

  2. One of the most consistent players on my teams has been TE  Delanie Walker. He has been THE playmaker for the Titans, but I'll be benching him this week against NE. I hate to bench someone who has been so good, but I don't trust that matchup at all.

I'll be starting Eddie Lacy, and hope that he continues his streak. He can't quit now.

Adrian Peterson is back I my lineup. I like him against Chicago.

I'm not playing for any large amounts of money, so even if it doesn't work out, it's no loss. I'm doing it mostly for fun.

  3. I doubt Pagano's contract will be renewed. I don't see the team going far in the playoffs; there are too many good teams

. I would be surprised if the Giants let Coughlin go. After last night, they are tied for first in the NFC East and have a good chance to win the division. Even if they don't win, the Giants organization seems to like Coughlin. There were rumors of him being on the hot seat before, and nothing came of it. I think he'll be their coach until he retires, so little to no chance of him becoming Indy's coach.

  4. I'm seriously thinking of starting Jameis Winston vs NO. The Saints' defense is practically non existent even with a different coordinator.

Thoughts abut LeSean McCoy vs Philly? He should get a lot of carries against his old team and will want to show them up. But if the Eagles' defense suddenly shows up, it could be a problem. Both teams are in the playoff hunt.

Also, Antonio Brown did great last week, but this week with Cincinnati he faces a tougher challenge. Should I still consider starting him? Divisional matchups are sometimes tricky. Thanks.

  5. The Bears placed Bennett on season ending IR, so he's out vs. Washington. Not sure about the rest of your line up.

He's not on the list, but one TE I've had in my line ups is the Titans' Delanie Walker. Despite their record, Walker has been solid in fantasy throughout the past several weeks. He gets most of the carries, and has produced some nice numbers. (Just don't blame me if he fails to produce for one game or so. LOL.

I've had Adrian Peterson in my line up, but he hasn't done very well those times. I'm probably going to bench him, though I hate to say it.

  6. Did aliens take over the Patriots? They're down by three touchdowns to one of the worst teams in the NFL. Some fans have already left the stadium. The game isn't over, but NE just isn't playing well, and they can't stop Philadelphia.

  7. The last play should be reviewable, but I think they still would have with held it. The call wasn't bad; it was a facemask, even though the defender let go immediately. The referees aren't to blame here; Detroit let Green Bay come from behind and couldn't stop Rodgers in the end. Detroit let this game get out of hand when they had a solid lead. No one to blame but themselves.

  8. I'm also starting Hilton vs, Pittsburgh in one of my line ups. The Steelers have mostly been better against the run than the pass. (With the exception last Sunday against Seattle.-don't know what happened there.)

Cooper seems a good option; KC hasn't done well against WR's.

Which is a better choice for TE on Sunday and Monday Primetime?  Coby Fleener vs Pittsburgh or

                                                                                                                 Jordan Reed vs Dallas?

  9. I'm not sure about this game. Their defense has stepped up, and Pittsburgh doesn't have much of secondary, but there could be a lot of passing yards.

Also, the Colts haven't had much of a running game, everything depends on passes. Can Hasselbeck out duel Roethlisberger? (If Ben plays.) Also, Hasselbeck's win streak may not last the rest of the season. Not saying we can't win, but I'm expecting Pittsburgh to play a tough game.

  10. Why no credit for the best scoring defense in the NFL?

Not sure what you mean. Denver's defense has been in the news because many of their games have been won because of it. New England has remained unbeaten because of offense, defense and taking advantage of other teams' mistakes. They utulize players in such a way as to get the best out of them and come up with wins.Giivng credit tot eh team as a whole and for coaching.

  11. I have to choose someone for my weekly football picks, but this is close. They're playing in Denver so the Broncos have homefield advantage.

The Patriots are riddled with injuries, which could be a factor.

Denver has one of the best, if not THE best defense in the NFL.

Patriots have a past record of playing well against second string quarterbacks.

Going with Patriots just because of coaching. No matter, they still find ways to win and I'm thinking it will continue. However, a Denver victory wouldn't shock me just because NE is vulnerable to a loss sometime soon.

    Should be a good game.

  12. I' like Brett Favre, and was glad to see him honored. I don't know what he was doing when he kept changing his mind about retirement, but I won't go there. At least all seems forgiven between Favre and the Packers.

I think it's overreacting to say that it was disrespectful or shameful for the Packers to lose last night. This was a divison rivalry, so it was bound to be a  competitive game. I doubt that Favre felt dishonored by the loss. I picked Green Bay to win this game, but it didn't take away from the halftime events. To imply that it did, is far fetched IMO. A win would have been good, but things happen.

I would laugh if Washington ended up winning the NFC East. The way it's going, this coudl happen.

  13. I like Palmer vs, SF and have him in my line up.

I'm also starting J Allen. It might be risky since Baltimore has nothing to play for, but Cleveland has given up a lot of fantasy points to opposing running backs, so going that direction.

I'm not sure Rawls would have another break out game like last week. He might do OK against Pittsburgh, but probably won't score as many points this week.

It's just the way I feel, but I wouldn't trust any of the Eagles in my fantasy line up.

Good luck with your choices, Narcosys. I'm hoping I do better than I did last week.

  14. Fantasy football is getting challenging. I check the match-ups, but sometimes it still doesn't work. For example, who knew that Lacy would have such a good day against the Vikings defense? Then there 's the Raiders..... I had some of them in my line up, expecting a good game against Detroit. Then they crash and burn. At least I didn't have any Eagles players.....

Also, with all the injuries, one never knows when one of their players will get hurt. Oh well, I'll still continue playing just to see how it goes.

  15. Sunday Night Football analysts were questioning whether there will be a "quarterback controversy" in Denver now. There is no official word on that; just opinions about what might happen with Manning out. It sounds to me like they're trying to make a larger deal out of this than is necessary. Denver has not committed to Osweiler and has made no statements regarding the issue.
