"Vikings" returns Thursday, Feb. 18, 10:00 EST. on the History Channel. Going on its 4th season. Will be good to see Ragnar and Lagartha return once again. i no longer have the History Channel, but episodes should be available on the History website.

"Vikings" season 4 is as good as ever. I never thought that I could actually feel something for Floki. (Thanks, Helga.) The Bjorn story line is interesting. He is proving to be a leader. Just don't get rid of Ragnar anytime soon.

I'm feeling a bit down. My favorite TV show, The Blacklist" had its finale Thursday. Was on for 10 years and I got attached to the characters. I miss Raymond Reddington and the rest of the cast. The show had wonderful acting and exciting plotlines. RIP Blacklist and Reddington.

Blacklisters: the show returns Thursday, April 7 @9:00 EST on NBC. You're all invited to Liz and Tom's wedding, if it actually takes place. One never knows what will happen.

Congratulations to the Broncos! Did the reporters really think that Manning was going to announce retirement last night? Had to laugh at some of those those questions: Manning handled the whole thing graciously.
I also want Von Miller to sign with the Colts. (Not happening, though.)

Counting one-two-three. How many minutes until the "Fire Pagano" threads start? I think they're staring now.

Go Raiders! Take care of business on Monday night!
-
Good week. The Colts won, Titans lost, and the Raiders beat the Broncos! Denver's defense kind of collapsed.
-
Without Talib Denver isn't the same. He is the vocal leader and intimidator of that team and can cover anyone by himself. Von is the best player but Talib is more vocal. Anyway I agree, this has been 1 of the best weeks in my fandom sports history with the Cubs winning the WS, Colts beating Aaron Rodgers, Pacers destroyed the Bulls Saturday, and the Titans and Jags go down in flames.

I had a dream where I was at the Superbowl and the teams playing were Green Bay and Buffalo. Location was in Houston, ad the score was tied 6-6 at halftime. I work up before the game ended, so don't know the winner. Premonition as to the next Superbowl? Not sure, but the dream seemed very real.

I just finished reading Anne Rice's newest Vampire Chronicles book "Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis." I don't know where she is going with this new one. I don't care about the replimoid creatures, and I miss Lestat being the Brat Prince he was in past books. I read the whole thing, but this latest just didn't cut it for me.
-
You could try reading it; maybe you would like it more that I did. However, this isn't the same as her former Vampire Chronicles. This is kind of a mixture of science fiction and gothic. Much of this book relies on the explanation of cells and genetics. Depends on your interest in those kind of things.

I just finished reading the book "Claude and Camille (author is Stephanie Cowell)" about the Impressionist artist, Monet. It explains his paintings and his relationships with other artists and his one love, Camille Doncieux. Anyone who's admired Monet's water lilies and Gardens at Giverny might like this book. Very well written.

I'm not sure what to think about this season's "Blacklist." Red is great, as usual, but the show has gone way off with Liz going rogue. Something is bound to give; Liz can't keep this up without certain circumstances. I liked Tom, what am wondering if he is worth all the trouble.
-
I'm really liking Famke Janssen in "The Blacklist." Her character has some traits similar to Red's. Next week is the season finale, and the previews look good. Still not sure about Liz, but I think that eventually we'll find out.

I've been reading Stephen King again. Just finished "The Stand", and am currently reading 'Misery". For those who are into King, I'm pondering now what would happen if Trashman man met Annie Wilkes. Then there is Randall Flagg. Maybe I have too much time on my hands......

I've been reading Terry Pratchett's "Discworld' novels. They are recommended for anyone who enjoys fantasy mixed with satire. Strange characters, imaginative plots and very entertaining.

It's been overlooked, but the music industry has been in the news lately.Rod Stewart getting knighted and Bob Dylan receiving the Nobel prize for Literature. That's the first time a musician has received the Nobel prize. Congrats to both of them!
-
Whoa, Rod Stewart got knighted by the Queen? Not too shabby.
Patrick Stewart, the actor who played Jean Luc Picard on the TV series 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' talked about the process once. The most alarming thing is the invitation comes with no fan fair & could easily get thrown away as ordinary junk mail or shredded if a person isn't careful. Also, that you must bow to the Queen & not speak aloud until she formally addresses you the honoree personally.

Jules, you're good at predicting NBA games, have you ever thought about fantasy football? You might do quite well there.

My thoughts going out to your mother. I hope that she has a swift recovery. Don't worry about posting much; your family comes first. In the meantime, take care of yourself.

@southwest1 I have not been on here much lately. I had no idea your mom had suffered another heart attack. I hope you are doing okay, I know your family has been through a lot these past several months. My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend.

New episode of "The Blacklist" starts tonight, Jan.7. @9:00 est, NBC. I've seen a preview, and it looks good. Can't wait to see Reddington again!
-
Reddington returns Thursday 10:00 est. on NBC. Who's your daddy? Good shows to watch this week with 'Designated Survivor" and 'Blacklist." I'll have to skip part of the Thursday night football; can't miss "Blacklist."

RIP Anne Rice. I loved her Vampire Chronicles and Witching Hour books. There will never be another Lestat.

Science fiction fans: a recommended read is Dan Simmons "Hyperion" series. Starts with "Hyperion"; The Fall of Hyperion" ; "Endymion" and "The Rise of Endymion." It was written in the 90's, but should still be available. One of the best series I've ever read., just brilliant. It needs to be read in order; otherwise would be a bit confusing.

So sad to read about the wildfires in Tennessee. I visited Gatlinburg years ago, and had a wonderful time. The area was so beautiful, and it's difficult to imagine that almost everything is destroyed. I hope that eventually they can rebuild it, although it might take a long time.

Strange games today. I thought Jacksonville and Chicago were considered to be top defenses. What happened to them?
