    Forty Years ago on Friday, July 16th Harry Chapin left us way too soon in a car wreck in 1981 at the way too young age of 38.  But his legacy and humanitarian efforts still live as we would not have had through his influence like "Live Aid, We Are the World. Farm Aid, Band Aid, and Hands Across America" in the 1980's as was a kid back in the day. For his efforts in 1987 he was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal on what would had been his 45th birthday on December 7th. RIP Harry only the good die young.

    Hello friends,

     

    It has been a while since I have reached out to some of you -- you know who you are. I hope all of you are well.


    This has been a pretty anxious time. I am thankful that there are forums like this one and the Daily Norseman (Vikings) to provide some distraction from everything surrounding the coronavirus and COVID-19. I'm wondering how coronavirus is affecting folks where you all live. Are businesses shut down where you all are? Are there any curfews or other restrictions? Are you working from home? What is everyone doing to pass the time?

      Indiana on lockdown starting tomorrow. Only essential businesses are opened.  I still go to work since I'm at a hospital in nutrition services, so am considered essential. I have no contact with patients, so am not worried. We take many precautions to be safe.  Also, I only work 20 hours a week. 

      I've been streaming videos online. Like that I can watch NFL game pass for free right now. Am enjoying seeing the games broadcast.

    The Colts have a young, talented team under great leadership. You should all be optimistic and excited for this year and the upcoming years. It will be a lot of fun. Go Colts!

      The Vikings had a very impressive game! Defense looked good and the offense took over. Dalvin Cook was on my fantasy team, and he helped me do quite well.

    Game of Thrones eighth and final season with only six shows. Enjoy them while you can.

      The premiere was very good. Not everyone is going to survive this season, if the show goes according to past seasons. I hope the dragons show up often; they're one of the best things about GOT.

    I'm cooking for 13 on Thanksgiving and had the menu all planned, list made, cooking timeline set.  One is vegetarian and I had plenty of veggie options.  I just found out another is both gluten and dairy free.  EVERYTHING has gluten and/or dairy. I am FREAKING OUT

      All potatoes are gluten free. Any vegetables are also OK. Cooking some without butter or any dairy should work out. Good luck; I could never handle cooking for 13 people. Hope everything works out for you.

    Going to Colts/Pats with my husband next month. LOL should I cover my eyes during the game or can an upset happen? Luck looks fine IMO, but Brady is some sort of freak ageless wonder that even makes Lebron James jealous.

      You mentioned that your husband is a Red Sox fan; is he also a Patriots fan? That would make for an interesting relationship if he were. haha Anyway, enjoy the game and I hope the Colts can pull out a victory.

      I play daily fantasy football, (fanduel) and always have Antonio Brown on my teams. I've found that one can't be sentimental with players or teams. The main thing is to win and get points. Sometimes you just have to give in and draft players from teams you don't like.
