I think it’s connected because I think if there’s any flaws in his games it’s going to be athleticism. While some have just assumed he’s an elite athlete because of how dominant he was in college, there are people who think he’s just an average athlete. You can see on tape that he doesn’t have burner speed like BTJ or A.D. Mitchell, and his 3-cone might not have been what some would thought. Personally I think he might have tested similarly to Michael Pittman.
A lot of times when players opt out of specific drills, it’s ones where they may not perform well. I just wonder if he just wanted to keep the number 1 receiver hype he’s had since last offseason and so didn’t want to give people any numbers that may open up a conversation. If you look at Nabers, Odunze, and even BTJ stats for last season, they all matched his production or bettered it in every category. Sometimes the things that separate prospects who have similar skill sets and college production is athleticism. Let’s see if Nabers test as well, but I think Odunze is the better athlete.
If you're going to be the first non qb, why do anything?

With the Bears getting Keenan that means they likely will view picks as more important than another WR. If there's confidence Bowers would be there at 15 then that would be great. But this team needs a true alpha pass catcher and Odunze is a guy that doesn't usually drop to 9. This is coming from an Oregon season ticket holder

They haven’t had much impact as of yet.
Ogletree only played one year out of two. And Pierce, for all the complaining people do about him, is averaging 15 yards per catch after his two seasons. Plenty of people now want to see Pierce and Ogletree with Richardson throwing to them.
I'm not saying they are bad players, I'm saying they haven't shown enough impact to say we shouldn't draft their position in the first.

"We need to be more explosive"
Ballard quote
IMHO that means a field stretching WR
We can get that in round 1 or 2
I see playmaking FS, Stud DE, dynamic WR s as a MUCH, MUCH, bigger needs than a CB or TE in round 1
My hope is that we grab a DE in FA (prolly not gonna happen)
My hope is that we come out of round 1 with Brian Thomas or AD Mitchell
My hope is that we get one of the FS in draft, or in FA
I watched both players vs Alabama this year.
Brian Thomas had a so so game, he was MOSTLY shutdown by the Alabama DBs
Mitchell was many times uncoverable and made the Alabama CBs that will be first round
CBs look stuck in glue
Bowers is great to think about, but it looks like Ogletree will be playing this year, not as good as Bowers, but
there was a chemistry between AR and he, early on
We don't have a real explosive pass catcher on the roster. Ogletree, Pierce, etc have no impact

yes we can agree to disagree, Franklin is ours all he knws is INDY … yu reward your own now, could he have been nxt to him maybe but he’s not worth conversation of the debate of potentially not paying zaire. that’s a horrible message to send …
panthers or jets haven’t improved, panthers were fortunate enough to receive the 1st overall pick that they can’t even use lol so idk how successful of a team was built w luvu bring soo extraordinary lol
I'm not saying I don't like Franklin, but reward your own for what, missing the playoffs for the 3rd straight year? Has anyone on the team won the division?

Ballard trades up in the draft before he trades back.

My two big hopes. I'd lean Bowers. Been doing 3 round mocks and really liked this one
Bowers
Edgerrin Cooper
Sedrick Van Pran

The reason I think it's later is because he mentioned the depth when they picked Pittman in the 2nd and he's obviously happy with how that worked out, so may go with the same mentality of getting a WR in the 2nd.
He also mentioned guys like Lamb and Jefferson, who are a clear step ahead of MPJ, who went in the first.
I know one thing, we'll get a WR in the first or 2nd. I think there is also a more than typical chance he moves up to get someone he covets.

My biggest issue with this is it promotes click bait journalism which stands against what the site sold itself on

I've gotten Sunday ticket for years. Usually have one tv with the Colts on it and one that I have on redzone most the time, but also follow fantasy players or games I'm more interested in. Works well

Hot take, but I think you can tell right away if they have the potential.

Yes. Honestly, I’m actually IN the start Minshew crowd, but only for the first four games, or so… And while it might happen, I’m not expecting it. I’m just modestly hopeful. But I don’t have my hopes up.
I think there is enormous expectation and pressure to push AR to be ready. I’m not a big fan of throwing QBs into the deep end of the pool and telling them to swim or sink. I think patience is critically important in this case. There's a big difference in the way they're handling it re his confidence in my opinion. They're basically saying they expect it to be rocky, and that's OK. Takes pressure off of him

Not sure why we traded back there. We have 5 picks left. No way all 5 make the roster.
More shots I guess as he likes to say.
You move back when the quality of the group of players you want will be there still.

that would make the most expensive guard tandem in the league I believe. his contract was dictated by being a tackle
Is him at RT and a rookie guard cheaper than him moving inside and a rookie deal RT?

The draft was strong. But the decision not to draft a G or C was troubling. This was a HUGE need. You have to believe that a vet Guard is on their radar. Or better be.
My thought is that they want to get one of these guys at RT and slide Smith inside

I’d rather have Richardson over Levis.
The Colts must have had the same concerns I did, because they had their pick.
Richardson was a good choice.
That said, we cannot overlook the fact that Steichen is a liar. It’s something we’re going to have to adjust to. We’ve had several years of an honest Ballard. Steichen is not going to be truthful. It’s a trait we should all be concerned about.
I know the shots are coming my way for saying this, but if you think about it… It’s deserved.
Yeah, little bit of an ego on you.

I wouldn't be surprised - at all - to see the Colts trade down and accumulate more draft capital.
I think they can pick up a quarterback later in the round - and - add additional pieces for our roster.
Would LOVE it if they are able to draft Marvin Harrison Jr - at some point - in the draft. How cool would that be?
Would be pretty cool to draft someone not in the draft

Kittle, Grover and Mack would have been an epic 4th rd.

The edge rushers in this class outside of Young are really disappointing

Only worry with Herbert is he decides to cash in one big contract after his Rookie one, then rides off into the sunset to Attend Medical School... I believe that's his ultimate goal.... or I'm completely making up things I think I read somewhere... lol
The last part. I'm an Oregon season ticket holder and follow the team closely. No mention of that from a legitimate source.

I can see Herbert being like another Joey Harrington.
Please show me the similarities aside from their college uniforms

There are worse things than staying put right now. If JB improves things are great. If he does poorly, they'll be in the same position next year to get someone.
That said if someone they covet is there, ho get him.

There's no way around it now. He has to go.
