  1. You're picking one of many absurd picks. It was silly top to bottom
  2. Huh? They aren't engaging in long term fair deals because they can't. They want to get paid elsewhere rather than sit around and wait for free agency
  3. Cincy is about to pay $85M a year for two players. Makes things hard
  4. Finally watched and surprise, nothing in my mind changed. He said what I expected. He likes our corners- means he doesn't feel like he has to pick one, but I think if they love a guy like Mitchell, they'll get him. Said he defaults to moving back, but if they see a special talent at a reasonable price they'll get him - he's willing to break character for that right guy, just like he did with DFo. I still feel like the odds of moving up are the highest in his tenure outside of last year, simply because of the talent in my eyes
  5. That wasn't it. AJ Green was above him. But the drop-off was HUGE. There were two absolutely elite dudes and then nobody. This draft is similar but different in my opinion. There's 3 guys in the Julio/AJ tier but the drop-off isn't anywhere near the same, though in my mind it's still significant. But in that draft it was Julio or nobody.
  6. Not sure why I'm saying this - likely because I am fresh off a happy hour. But I freaking love DFo. I've watched him since he was in HS pretty closely. Him and Arik Armstead were in the same recruiting class. AA was looked at as a generational OT prospect while DFo was a good but not great DT. They both were immediately in the 2 deep at Oregon, but DFo was better from the first snap, both as 34 DEs. DFo stayed an extra year and played something like 90 snaps a game as a SR. I'm blabbering, but he's been such a joy to watch for the last decade plus Side note- if we get Troy Franklin I'm going to lose my s%&#. And if it happens I'll tell my story of his dad and younger brother at a BBQ joint after his 2nd college game
  7. And I'd argue the top 4 WRs under 25 were all first round picks.
  8. Yeah I was unclear on that, my bad. To me there's a difference between total resources and 1st round picks. Meaning we'll have a high end cap hit on the lines typically. But I don't think he's shown he's opposed to drafting any position group in the first
  9. Oh, he's biased towards the trenches without a doubt. But that doesn't equate being against a first round corner or WR to me
  10. If I were to make a bet it would be on DL, but that's just based on odds. Don't see any value though. I only see one corner they'd take, a WR or TE likely only if we move up which I think is more likely this year than most but not enough with the odds.
  11. There's a ton of conjecture here based on a guy that has shown no positional bias and whose last 1st round pick as part of the Chiefs was a corner
  12. Meant to say he's taken one corner and one WR in the top 34 ^^
  13. By my count Ballard has taken 6 picks in the top 34 and 1 has been a corner. #34 for both. In the top 50 he's taken 4 DBs / 3 corners. 1 WR in the top 50. Is he against 1st round WRs too? I don't think he's done anything to show he's against 1st round corners. Or any position. He's never picked the same position twice in the first. The Nelson pick makes me think he doesn't have a ton of positional bias early.
  14. Because they locked down a position group more or less before the draft and wanted to give themselves to get a bit more aggressive at any point if the opportunity comes, likely next year
  15. What doesn't make sense? You can use it any time over the next 3 years essentially and the $7M in dead applies to the last cheap year of AR's contract. It gives you flexibility with no downside. They could roll 7M over until 2027 if they wanted. All it costs is Irsay's cash
  16. If we got Nabers for a future 2nd I'd be so far over moon
  17. It's not just that he had a better career, but he special right away. Brock was the best offensive player on an absolutely loaded team against an elite Clemson defense in his first hand as a true freshman.
  18. Yeah it's just a weird argument. The team has a solid foundation, I don't think any position should be off limits outside of QB and RB in the 1st for the right player
  19. My wife and I had been dating for a couple months before the Chiefs playoff game. Any chaos I bring, she can't say she wasn't warned
  20. I agree. I've spent plenty of time championing moving up to do so. But if they get a WR, move back from 15 or up from 46 if you'd like. Just don't pick one there Edit - Bowers would be an easy choice at 15
  21. There's no value. The big 3 are gone by 9 and then there's a huge cluster of talent. Value doesn't come back until at very least the mid 20s
