Again put up decent numbers at his pro day.

Meh...seems like an UDFA. Would rather grab some high upside players...instead of bidding to sign them in UDFA.
Shouldn't have to worry about being out bidded. Seems like we have quite a few dollars left over from free agency. Lol

Decent pro day numbers. 30 on the bench!

Love this pick! Any reason for the slide?

We drafted 3 DBs last year
also lost two good ones in Davis and Melvin.

Better to get at least something now then cut him later. Disn't see he as a good scheme fit now we're doing a 4-3.

I all for competition but it seems to me we now have competition at OL, DL and RB and every other position is getting a pass. This LB and CB cores we have right now is feeling pretty safe and in all honesty they shouldn't. I know philly did stuff like this but they had established players already in the fold before they started and our cupboard is damm near bare.

Scales was 3rd on my wants list right now.
-
Could also see WR Cobb with this pick. Seems like the colts had some interest in him.
-
Let's take a chance and grab CB Holton Hill. He's got great size and talent. We need a player that can step into that 2nd CB spot next to Wilson and I hope he's our guy.
-
I like a Kelly and Mack 1-2 punch. Kelly runs with so much anger and some of the stiff arms I've seen him give are the best in the business.
-
Still have Meeks and Holton Hill out there. I would love to roll the dice on Hill. Think he's a 1st round talent with small character issues.
-
The more I hear about Landry's nagging injuries the more I want to pass. Can't afford to whiff on any of these 2nd/3rd rounders as they will be asked to jump in and start day 1.

He dropped because of being flagged for medicals by some teams...I say pass.
How legit are these issues. Guys are playing banged up all year. Is it some degenerative issue?

Another OL at this point would come at the cost of much needed defensive help, IMO.
Once Ballard gets his guy at #36, I would not mind moving down a bit in round 2 from #37 to somewhere else in round 2 and picking up an additional 4th. There will be talent left on the board. That additional 4th can be used on a later round OL, IMO.
Rumblings are the Chargers are looking to get ahead of Denver to draft Rudolph they got the 48th but think they would need to sweeten the deal with something on top of their 4th.

Guess there are some rumblings that the Chargers are looking to get ahead of Denver to draft Rudolph. We could be a team that they're looking to work with. They have the 48th pick. Would the 48th, 119th and a 2019th 4th be enough for you guys to pass up some of the talent at the beginning of this round?
-
I like Leonard, Baker and Warner as day 3 guys for OLB. Even O'Daniel would be an upgrade. Not too high on Jefferson.
At ILB Jewell would be a good day 3 guy or even Scales late would be great.

One of my friends asked me this question and I couldn't give him an honest answer. I just said, "probably Nelson". My opinion at least.
That's funny because I would or gone Chubbs. Never thought Landry would be here on day 2 and Ragnow and Price would both be gone. Loving the pick of Nelson in hind site with what i now see on our board for day 2.

Peeny was a reach but Pitts pick of Edmunds was mind blowing. He was very much a Day 2 guy and even using a 2nd rounder on him would be a reach. Could of picked up Eric Reid in FA and they would of had a better player then the guy they drafted.

I have my 2nd round mock going:
33) CLE - Connor Williams
34) NYG - Will Hernandez
35) CLE - Derrius Guice
36) IND - Harold Landry
37) IND - Joshua Jackson
Skipping ahead, I’d be choosing at 49 between Mairice Hurst and Anthony Miller (really under-rated). Probably Hurst.
RoJo with the last of the 2nds if we lose out on Guice and go WR with our 3rd (should be a good amount of talent left on the board).

It would of been interesting if both Chubbs and Nelson were there @ 6 and who Ballard would of chose.
-
36 Landry
37 Sutton
48 Jackson/Oliver/Davis
67 Baker

Just wondering what everyone is thinking Ballard's approach will be to prospects with red flags. Guys like Holton Hill, Callaway, Key, Guice and Hughes. I personally would love to take Hill with a late 3rd if we can get one or our 4th. What's your thoughts?

Guess the Giants are saying Barkley is a "near perfect prospect". Anybody else thinking this is blowing some smoke to see if they can pressure the Browns to take him and get Darnold to fall to them @ 2?

Ya it's really bad. Turay at Sam and Leonard at Mike make no sense. Also keeping Simon at LB and not in Hunt's spot is a huge miss as well
