I would have invested the resources in both free agencies and the draft differently the first few years. It’s too easy to pick specific players with hindsight, so I won’t mention specific players.
After getting a gift with being able to draft Luck, I would have invested heavily in the offensive line. The next priority for me would have been the pass rush and the defensive front seven. It’s pretty general, but I think concentrating more on this position groups would have built a better and more balanced team.

Another thing that doesn’t get mentioned much and don’t show up in any stat, is the fact that Luck (as far as I can remember) don’t have any almost interceptions.
Except for the three interceptions, there hasn’t been any throws where defenders almost get it, drops it, get in each other’s way or similar.
That to me is also a big positive that is promising for the future.

I not sure if I misunderstand you or not, but the link provided took into account a projected starting lineup. And Reitz can’t have been part of their projected starting lineup for the Colts.

Anyway I am not interested in starting a discussion and I agree that an offensive line needs time. The Colts have both several inexperienced linemen and have had several changes on the offensive line. So it will take time before they reach their potential, both as individuals and as a unit.

I don’t take any side in this discussion, but you at least should read and understand the information before you incorrectly comment on it. There are no way a Colts line with Reitz can be that young.
Castonzo (28), Mewhort (25) and Kelly (23) were obvious starters. On the right side they must have used some combination of Good (25), Haeg (23), Reitz (31), Harrison (25), Clark (23) and Thornton (25).
With a line of Castonzo, Mewhort, Kelly, Haeg and Reitz you get an average age of 26.
So clearly they did not have Reitz in the projected starting lineup they used to get an average age of 24.6.
The starting lineup against the bears had an average age of 24.8.

But then why call the timeout? Calling the timeout gives them time to remove the snow, which was what they did. I remember hearing Tirico saying that he gave a reasonable explanation for taking the timeout, but that doesn't make sense to me if that's what he said
As I understood it, they were talking about why Gruden didn’t take a timeout to try to ice Vinatieri. He said he didn’t want them to remove the snow so he did not call for a timeout.

Normally I agree with most of what you say but I think some of these grades were a little too generous.
This makes me wonder what you have to do to get E or F.
I also wonder if you took the penalty on a field goal attempt, that gave the Steelers a first and goal (ended up being a TD), when you gave the special team A-.

Yeah our only TD given up over 40 yards was is Jacksonville. But the longest pass against denver was like 20 yards, there was none in Denver 40*.
That’s true, but that wasn’t a deep pass. The pass couldn’t have been more than 10-15 yards or so, most of the yards were after the catch.

Hey man I get it ... Grigs and staff are giving this "guy" every chance in the world to MAKE SOMETHING BIG HAPPEN. ..
But it's been a year now .... "a YEAR" and it is safe to say... Trent is who Trent is... and that is nothing special.
I said in my previous posts who I would like to see... . and he is on the roster .... not off the street.
You also said in that post that anybody off the streets could play as goodl as Trent and it was that statement that I really don’t agree with. And you are not the only one who have made similar statements.
Tipton and Herron played well in PRESEASON against second and third stringers.
Boom has looked promising and I agree that he should get a few more chances to see what he got, but if I were Luck I would rather have Trent protecting me and be my safety valve than Boom.

Bradshaw is better than him in every facet of the game
Bradshaw is already playing as much as Trent and I think his workload is as it should be. It is better to keep him fresh and hopefully healthy.
And I was thinking more of all the posters who say anybody of the streets can play better than Richardson.

Ya he had an ok day, but the thing is he is just a guy. Indy could get his production from ANY RB off the street.
I would really like to see these great RBs off the street that a lot of you are talking about. The ones who can get a 4 ypc or better, are some of the best in pass protection, are very good as receivers out of the backfield and don’t have any big red flags (of the field, injury or drugs).
And none of the 32 teams have any room for these great RBs on their roster, there must be a lot of great talent at the RB position in the NFL right now.
What some of you don’t see is that even if Trent’s rushing has not been great (I think it has been ok this year), he still brings something to the team. He has been very good in the other aspects of the game. I don’t think it would be so easy to find somebody that are as good in pass protection, receiving out of the backfield and can just come in and give you a better overall performance.

Like I said, we can talk about it. I just don't think ypc is the way to do it. Especially on a day when no one was running the ball with any effectiveness. First half, Bradshaw had 6 carries for 17 yards. To that point, no one was doing anything on the ground.
The way I see it, Bradshaw has been better, but Richardson has been productive enough to keep defenses honest. And he's had some nice rips on the ground, so no one is going to just forget about him back there. The way we've been splitting time between the two is ideal, IMO, because it puts Bradshaw in position to pick up good gains. He can't carry the load; he'll get hurt. He's at his best as a part of a committee. To me, that justifies Richardson's role in the offense. (He also averaged 13 yards on 4 catches.)
I usually stay out of the Richardson debates, because, like I said, they are powered by people who only want to complain about how bad he's been. He goes for 27 yards last week, and it's about how he should have been gone for a TD. Seriously, I'm not making that up. Like you said, I just want to talk about how he plays, not about how he's "the worst back in the NFL," and "he's a bust" and all that. Unlike you, I don't like using a first rounder on a RB, even if you get good production out of him. I just don't think the players at that position are that important, especially when you have a really good QB. You can find good enough RBs without giving up such a valuable asset. It was a bad trade, IMO. But that's done, and it really never needs to be brought up when we're talking about Richardson's play.
Somewhat related: Collinsworth just mentioned that he thinks if you can run block, if you can push guys off the ball and create holes, you can find a dozen guys who can run through the ball for you. I mostly agree. Guys like Peterson and McCoy and Charles and so on are special, but for the most part, your back isn't going to be the key to your offensive attack. I don't think anyone ever compared Richardson with those guys, though.

I respect your POV k-89 even though I personally believe that some form of last resort spanking of a child is a good thing. Show me a kid who wasn't spanked & I will show you a spoiled brat/narcissistic adult.
Yes, I am admit that there are some wonderful kids who grew into responsible adults who never got spanked, but that is extremely rare. I will also acknowledge that spanking a child won't guarantee a perfect, law abiding adult that's true, but by & large kids who were spanked typically evolve into a positive, contributing member of society who won't embarrass their parents. JMO.
I admit that it is hard to discuss these things when we grew up in different cultures. I was never spanked, none of my parents was, none of my friends was and I don’t really think I have ever met anybody that was. Of course it probably happens here also, but it is not common.
I don’t see any positives from it and that’s what most people here think. It was normal in Norway once upon a time, but not so much the last 50-60 years.
Of course I understand that if you grow up in a society where it is accepted and normal it is normal to agree with that.
but you can whip a horse during a horse race.
Just to show another difference, you are not allowed to whip your horse in a race in Norway.
I admit I was a little shocked because I thought it was a thing of the past most places in the western world. And I didn’t know it was so widespread and accepted in the US.

I have never been so disappointed in this forum and its members as I am after reading some of these comments. There is clearly a big difference in how parenting works in the US from Norway. That so many feel like spanking and otherwise physically disciplining your child is ok and a part of parenting is mind boggling to me.
This is something you cannot do to criminals in jail, officers can’t do it to soldiers in the military, husbands can’t do it to their wives against their will, you can’t do it to strangers and you cannot do it to animals, but to defenseless children it is ok.
I would like anybody to find a study that showed that this was a good thing for the children. And the argument that this is how it was done when I was young is not a good one.

19 ÷ 5= 3.8YPC
Officially he had 6 rushes for 20 yards
If you take out 1 rush for -1 yard you have 5 rushes for 21 yards
21 ÷ 5 = 4.2 YPC

I’m from Norway and started following the Colts after the 2011 season.
Before the playoff in January 2012 I had only watched a couple of Super Bowl’s and seen American football on tv and in movies. I always thought it looked really interesting and I am a big sports fan so it intrigued me. That January I happened to buy a special tv channel for a month (to watch a couple of Manchester United games) and they showed the NFL playoff. I watched some games and got hooked, so I decided I wanted to follow the NFL more closely. I found Game Pass and bought an offseason subscription to try it out. Since I have always enjoyed watching sports more when I have someone to root for I decided I had to pick a team to follow. But I had no connection to any team or city so I decided to find a player first and to start following his team. When I did a little research on the NFL I came over Andrew Luck and saw that he was born September 12. 1989. I happen to also be born September 12. 1989 so then it wasn’t a hard choice.
I have to admit I was really lucky (no pun intended) because of the player Luck is, the type of organization the Colts are and that I could follow the new era with the new coaches and players from the start, it was perfect for me.

I agree about Vickerson and the exaggeration is what I mean when I said "flop". He exaggerated the hit, which drew attention to it and got the penalty. I don't see anything wrong with it but it was definitely exaggerated...ie. a flop.
People react very differently when they don’t expect it. Luck had his back to Vickerson, and he had already thrown the ball, so he did not expect to get hit. I think that is what makes his body language look like he exaggerates the hit. He just got surprised.
