  1. Colts unfortunately lost their second straight preseason game and are 0 and 2, not the result we wanted again tonight. Colts next play the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday, but they may have an advantage. Colts have an off day on Sunday, and the coaching staff expect see and scout the Steelers, as Pittsburgh is hosting the Atlanta Falcons Sunday afternoon, and televised on the NFL Network. I'm sure the Steelers Vs. Falcons game at Pittsburgh will impact the Colts game preparation next weekend. Third time and game might be the charm, as Indianapolis is trying to avoid being winless, before their regular season finale with the Cincinnati Bengals on August 31. We also might hear further news in the other developing story if Andrew Luck is healthy physically to clear himself from the PUP list, and be ready to play the regular season opener at the L.A. Rams, if not later, for the season opener at LOS when they host the return of Bruce Arians, and the Arizona Cardinals. Enjoy another week in the meantime between Colts game, we will see you here as the Colts travel again at Pittsburgh, and their goal is to win to next two preseason games to even their record at 2-2 and .500. Stay Colts Strong, and GO COLTS!
  2. Hi, Colts Nation! Our Indianpolis Colts try to rebound from the preseason loss last week, as they are in Arlington, Texas, to play the Dallas Cowboys. Gametime begins after 7:05PM Eastern Standard Time from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. No injuries, try to win preseason game #1, and GO COLTS!!!!! http://prod.static.colts.clubs.nfl.com/assets/docs/gamereleases/2017/gamerelease-pre02.pdf Colts @ Cowboys Live NFL Preseason Game Centers: http://www.colts.com/team/game/2017/preseason2 http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2017081/953/2017/PRE2/colts@cowboys#menu=gameinfo&tab=preview
  3. Folks, the Colts did not do too well in today's game. Colts next game is away from Indianapolis when the play the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. If the Colts have an edge. Cowboys running back Ezekel Elliott won't play because he has to seve a six-game suspension. Let's keep this game in the past as the Colts continue their training camp as the Colts coaching staff watch game video, review and evaluate their game performance and team player personnel, so they can make adjustments for the Dallas game. Enjoy your week, see you here again next Saturday Night for the Colts @ Cowboys in Preseason Game 2, Stay Colts Strong, and GO COLTS!!!!!
  4. Ryan Fitzpatrick from the New York Jets who now backs up Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay and replaces Mike Glennon in Chicago who replaces Jay Cutler who went to Miami to replace Ryan Tannehill who is injured.
  5. Greetings, Colts fans and Colts Nation! NFL Game Day is finally here for the first time in more than seven months, as our Indianapolis Colts begin their quest and journey in their enduring 2017 NFL season. Colts are playing the first of four preseason games this afternoon as they host the return of Head Coach Jim Caldwell, and the visiting Detroit Lions in both team's preseason openers played at Lucas Oil Stadium (the building), in Downtown Indianapolis. I also begin my sixth year starting the Colts Game Day Threads in the Colts Strong Online Fan Community Forum, along with participating in-game in the GDT, and I hope all of you appreciate the info I provide and post prior to each Indianapolis Colts game. Colts missed the NFL playoffs for the second straight season, with their 8-8 regular season record. Colts were also 3-3 playing within AFC South opponents, and WR T.Y. Hilton, and P Pat McAfee were named to the 2017 Pro Bowl in Orlando. FL. Both the Colts and Lions played two intrasquad practices in the Colt's Indiana Farm Bureau Training Center. after the Colts arrived in Indianapolis, the first time players from either team are practicing against an opposing player across the line of scrimmage instead of a teammate. Lions Coach Jim Caldwell returns for the second time this afternoon to coach against his former team. Caldwell coached the Colts during the 2009 through 2011 NFL season, including the dismal 2-14, 2011 regular season when Peyton Manning never entered the playing field because of his neck injury. Both Indianapolis and Detroit are also playing their preseason game together for the first time since 2009. Today is the 22nd all-time preseason meeting, with the Colts leading the series with 13 wins, 7 losses, and 1 ties. Lions defeated the Colts 18-17 in the last preseason meeting and finale, played on August 29, 2009. Colts also leads the all-time regular season series after 43 games with their 21-20-1 record, a rivalry that began with the Colts defeating the Lions 45-21 in their first NFL game played at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, MD, back on December 3, 1950. Between the Colts and Lions, the Baltimore Ravens hired Caldwell to be their QB coach in 2012, then promoted to offensive coordinator in 2013. Caldwell eventually earned a Super Bowl ring, with his Ravens defeating the 49ers 34-31 in Super Bowl XLII in New Orleans. Caldwell then was hired by Detroit to be their first african-american coach in team history back on January 14, 2014. Caldwell's Lions defeated Coach Pagano's Colts at LOS with the score of 39-35 on Week One of the regular season, back on September 11, 2016. Colts veteran QB Andrew Luck is currently on the PUP (Physically Unable To Perform) list still recovering from his shoulder injury he still suffered from last season. Colts had a busy offseason as far as player personnel changes. First, Colts front office replaced Ryan Grigson, and hired Chris Ballard as their new General Manager. Then Ballard, Coach Chuck Pagano, and Colts owner Jim Irsay then signed veteran players that the Colts re-signed that played and were on the 2016 Colts roster includes WR Quin Bray, CB Darius Butler, TE Jack Doyle, TE Eric Swoope, and RB Robert Turbin. Veteran free agents who played previously from other NFL teams, and the Colts eventually signed after the free agency began on March 9, includes S Mike Adams (Panthers), IL Jon Bostic (Lions), OLB Chris Carter (Redskins), DT Jonathan Hankins, DE Margus Hunt, DE Zach Kerr (Broncos), ILB Josh Mc Nary (Jaguars). OLB Barkevious Mingo (Browns), OLB Barkavious Sheard, OLB John Simon, ILB Jon Spence, and NT Al Woods. Bostic will see and play against the Lions today, since he signed with the Colts during free agency. OLB Robert Mathis, P Pat McAfee, and OT Joe Reitz decided and announced their retirement during the past offseason. Today the Colts 2017 NFL Draft Class enter the field for live game action in 2017, including in draft order, Colts #1 draft pick from Ohio State, FS Malik Hooker, CB Quincy Wilson, OLB Tarell Basham, OT Zack Banner, RB Marlon Mack, DT Grover Stewart, CB Nate Hairston, and ILB Anthony Walker, Jr. A unique change this year in that there will only be one major cut for the Colts and all NFL teams. There will be no roster cuts during the preseason games are played. Hence, the Colts must cutdown from the up to 90 man preseason roster to the 53-man regular season roster by September 2. Colts and NFL teams in the past would abide by the league to cut from 90 to 75 players after two preseason games. Retaining 90 players in all four preseason games benefits the players so they possibly receive more playing time and the coaching staffs to evaluate them more during all preseason game. However, I am sure later it would be more radical and extremely difficult for Coach Pagano and his Colts coaching staff to reduce dramatically the 90 man preseason roster to the 53-man regular season roster, plus the following Colts Practice Squad. Don Fischer and Rick Venturi continue their tradition of announcing all televised preseason games, including this afternoon's Colts/Lions game, seen simulcast locally and internationally from flagship station WXIN FOX Channel 59, the Colts Preseason Television Network, and The NFL Network, all media seen live on HD. Veteran play-by-play broadcaster Bob Lamey, 'The Voice of The Colts,' and game analyst Jim Sorgi are also announcing the live radio gamecast, simulcast on flagship stations WFNI ESPN SportsRadio 1070AM, WLHK Country 97.1 HANK-FM, and the Colts Radio Network in the Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky region. Sunny and clear skies at 77 degrees is the game forecast for this afternoon's 1:35PM Eastern Standard Time, kickoff, so Lucas Oil Stadium's roof might be open this afternoon, prior if not later during the Colts/Lions game. Colts are wearing the white helmets, blue jerseys. and white pants, while the visiting Lions are wearing their silver helmets, white jerseys, and blue pants. Lead referee Jerome Boger and his officiating crew are assigned by the NFL to supervise today's Colts Vs. Lions during game action at LOS. NO injuries, great luck (no pun intended) to the players as they begin to earn and stay in the upcoming regular season roster. Stay Colts Strong, today's game, and every game, LET'S GO COLTS!!!!! 6. Thanks for sharing your sentiment, folks! Just for the record, the event and ESPY Awards show is happening at the Microsoft Theatre, formerly Nokia Theatre, in Hollywood, CA., a short distance down Sunset Blvd. from the Staples Center, the L.A. Live Entertainment area, and the ESPN West Coast Studios. Also, while ESPN, The Worldwide Leader In Sports, stands forthe Entertainment (And) Sports Programming Network, The ESPY Awards is the acronym for Excellence In Sports Performance Yearly Awards. http://www.espn.com/espys/
  7. Hi, Colts fans! I just saw the promo that former Colts QB legend, and likely forthcoming PFHOF inductee Peyton Manning is to host the upcoming ESPY Awards next Wednesday. I don't know if he will be the sole primary presenter during the show, but I am sure in an award program and event like the ESPY Awards, there will be a rotation of various presenters handing out awards to the winners during the ESPY Awards. I look forward to watching Peyton on stage, probably even wearing a tuxedo. If any of you remember Peyton in the past hosted NBC's Saturday Night Live while he was a Colt.
  8. Shazam! I marked my calendar! Cleveland Browns as a team are indeed going to visit Indianapolis to play our Colts during Week 3 of the upcoming 2017 NFL season at Lucas Oil Stadium (the building) on September 24! I wonder if there will be reacquintences between Grigson, Jim Irsay, Chuck Pagano and the players and personnel? Probably look awkward if that happens in Pre Game.
  9. Patriots on a comeback. First Brady to Martellius Bennett for 25-yards, then Brady gets sacked by the Falcons D.
  10. Hi, Colts Nation! The NFL's enduring 2016 season finally concludes tonight, when the New England Patriots play the Atlanta Falcons to see who will also earn and win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl LI being played at the NRG (Energy) Stadium, in Houston, Texas. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Erin Andrews are announcing the game worldwide for The NFL On FOX, including locally in Indianapolis, on WXIN FOX Channel 59, live on HD. No injuries, but I want to see the Falcons Rise Up, and win their first Super Bowl for Atlanta! http://www.nfl.com/super-bowl http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_LI http://www.footballdb.com/ Super Bowl LI - Patriots Vs. Falcons - Live NFL Game Center: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2017020500/2016/POST22/patriots@falcons#menu=gameinfo&tab=preview
  11. Hi, Colts fans. Time Warner and Home Box Office are actively seeking an NFL team to follow and film their annual 'Hard Knocks' Sports Documentary for 2017. Hopefully the Colts will not be selected nor be in the running for the series. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/here-are-the-eight-nfl-teams-eligible-for-hbos-hard-knocks-in-2017/
  12. Our Colts concluded the 2016 NFL season, defeating the Jaguars 24-20, and again as in 2015, finished with 8 wins and 8 losses. A bright sign that tour Colts concluded their 2016 schedule, and began New Year's Day 2017, with a win over the Jaguars. Now the long offseason begins since the Colts were eliminated since their road loss at Oakland last Sunday. Andrew Luck was healthy most of the season, but the Colts were still short of making the postseason. Colts management will evaluate the past season, and make the inevitable changes, such as which players re-sign and retain, and those who will be waived or released as free agents. Also if the Colts are going to retain General Manager Ryan Grigson, the scouting staff, and Head Coach Chuck Pagano and his coaching staff. Not only will the Colts sign veteran free agants beginning in March, when the NFL calendar year begins, but before March, the Colts management will be at LOS (the building) after the Super Bowl 51, where college players are invited for the upcoming NFL Combine. Player interviews prior, and into the 2017 NFL Draft, then the Organized Team Activities (OTA's) in May and June before the Colts 90-man roster reorts to training camp in the summer. Colts 2016 campaign and being eliminated from the NFL Playoffs is just a temporary setback for now.. But I am sure the Colts braintrust will staff the talented team before opening week in September that will represent our city, and compete with the 2017 Indianapolis Colts. My pleasure preparing the Colts Game Day Threads, and my sincere appreciation and gratefulness again for Nadine and the rest of the moderating team allowing me to start these threads. I also like to thank the rest of the registered members here on the Official Colts Fan Forum Message Board here on http://www.colts.com/ along with myself, for participating and posting your threads and narrating the action throughout the course of each game. Colts also have a new rival to reckon with, in the Houston Texans, who are on a three-game winning streak over them. Not only have they achieved their first road win at Indianapolis in their team history back in 2015, but the Texans also swept the Colts for the first time in 2016. and both last and this season won back-to-back AFC South Division Titles. Colts should find a way to staff a Colts team to win more games and both reclaim the AFC South, and dethrone the Texans in 2017. Thanks for participating, let's do it again in the upcoming 2017 NFL season. Stay Colts Strong throughout the offseason, and as always GO COLTS!!!!!
  13. Happy New Year, Colts Nation! But not entirely happy to Colts fans everywhere, as our 2016 Indianapolis Colts are unfoturnately out of the hunt to reach the NFL Playoffs in 2016, since their loss at the Oakland Raiders on December 24. Colts will try to defeat the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars, with interim coach Doug Marrone at LOS. A Colts victory would also equal their 2015 regular season win total at 8-8 again in 2016. Colts in the past won the AFC South Divison titles with identical 11-5 records in three consecutive seasons, but could not crack beyond 11 wins since the 2009 Colts team won 14 games. This afternoon will also be outside linebacker Robert Mathis's last game as an Indianapolis Colt, announced this past week his retirement as an active player in the NFL. Mathis was drafted from Alabama A&M in 2003. Among many of his achievements was earning an NFL championship ring with the Colts team that won Super Bowl XLI, and both earning and awarded the AFC Defensive Player Of The Year after the 2013 NFL season, and setting the team record with his 128 career sacks. Mathis is a popular player to Colts fans and and I felt he earned, and certainly deserves his name in the Colts Ring Of Honor, and perhaps the NFL Pro Football Hall Of Fame, for both his service and achievements. Well done. Robert! LOS's roof is closed for the 1:05P.M. Eastern Standard Time finale, because sunny skies at 40 degrees, feels like 36 degrees, is the game forecast outside the stadium area in Downtown Indianapolis, along with 0% precipitation, 65% humidity, and mild southeastern winds at 6 miles per hour. NO injuries, a pleasure posting the Game Day Threads for the 2016 Indianapolis Colts Preseason Schedule, Happy New Year to the Colts Nation as we all enter 2017, win one more game to even your 2016 NFL regular season record again at 8-8, and for one more game, GO COLTS!!!!! http://www.colts.com/team/game/2016/regular17 http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2017010103/2016/REG17/jaguars@colts#menu=gameinfo&tab=preview http://www.colts.com/team/injury-report.htnl http://www.jaguars.com/team/injury-report.html http://506sports.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Mathis
  14. Hi, Colts Nation! Our 2016 Indianapolis Colts are unfornately out of the hunt to reach the NFL Playoffs in 2016, since their loss at the Oakland Raiders on December 24. Colts will try to defeat the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars, with interim coach Doug Marrone at LOS. A colts victory would would equal their 2015 win total at 8-8 again in 2016. 15. Hi, Colts fans! Our 7-7 Indianapolis Colts are still in the hunt for at least an AFC Wild Card Playoff Spot, as they are in Oakland, California, to play the 11-3 and AFC West Division leading Oakland Raiders, in the Colts first visit to Oakland in nearly six years. Interesting game in a showcase of young NFL quarterbacks attempting to thwart their opposing teams defenses, featuring the Colts own Andrew Luck playing opposite the Raider's Andrew Carr. Indianapolis have an opportunity on Saturday afternoon to even the all-time series with Oakland with beach team at eight games apiece, in today's 16th meeting. Peyton Manning threw the game-clincher with his 7-yard touchdown pass to WR Pierre Garcon, with 7:38 remaining in the fourth quarter, to help the Colts defeat the Raiders 31-19, back on December 26, 2010. Colts have not lost a regular season road game at Oakland in more than 21 years. Raiders last home over the Colts was a 30-17 at the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum back on October 22, 1995. Peyton Manning was still a QB at the University Of Tennessee in Knoxville that year. Raiders still may clinch the AFC West division title on whoever wins the Houston, Kansas City, and/or Pittsburgh win their games this weekend, and at the same time eliminate the Colts this weekend from playoff contention. Jim Nantz and former New York Giants and Moorehead State QB Phil Simms, along with sideline reporter and interviewer Tracy Wolfson, are announcing the live TV game commentary for The NFL On CBS's primary late doubleheader game, seen live on HD in most of the USA, including locally in Indianapolis on WTTV CBS Channel 4. Sunny skies at 51 degrees, feels like 47 degrees is the game forecast inside the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum, for the 4:05PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, along with 0% precipitation, 58% humidity, and northwest winds at 13 miles per hour. My Christmas wish is for the Colts to stay alive for another week, and with help and luck ( the definition of good fortune, not Andrew Luck), Indianapolis survives these last to weeks and through chance earn a playoff spot. NO injuries. let's see our Colts go for their eight win in 2016, defeat the Raider in their Black Hole, and GO COLTS!!!!! http://www.colts.com/team/game/2016/regular16 http://www.colts.com/team/injury-report.html http://www.raiders.com/team/injury-report.html http://506sports.com/
  16. Colts are already leading 17-0, and once upon a time the Vikings were 5-0,,,,,before their Week 6 bye week.
  17. Hi, Colts fans! A battle of NFL teams alive in the playoff hunt for the postseason, as our Indianapolis Colts are in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area to play the Minnesota Vikings. Colts are playing their first road game in Minnesota for the first time in eight years, and a win by the Colts over the Vikings on Sunday afternoon, would both even their season record to 7-7, and also stay in the hunt for at least an AFC Wild Card Playoff spot, in both teams 25th all-time meeting. Indianapolis is coming from an embarrassing game they and their fans rather forget Sunday, as the Houston Texans made a season sweep over the Colts for the first time in their history, winning 22-17 at LOS (the building) last Sunday. However, into Sunday's game, the Colts have an advantage over the Vikings in their history between the teams, Indianapolis is on a current four-game regular season winning streak over Minnesota. Vikings last defeated the Colts during the regular season 19 years ago, with their 39-28 win over the Colts, and played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome back on December 21, 1997. Indianapolis leads the all-time series entering this afternoon with 16 wins and 7 losses, including one postseason game (Colts 24-14 win back in 1968). Adam Vinatieri kicked the game-winning field goals for the Colts in the last two meetings. AV kicked his 53-yard FG at Indianapolis with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter to help the Colts win 23-20 on September 16, 2012. Vinatieri also kicked the game-winning 47-yard field goal with three seconds remaining to help the Colts defeat the Vikings by the score of 18-15in their recent road visit, and last road game at the Metrodome, back on September 14, 2008. Also fortunately for this game both the Colts, and Vikings, are also playing inside the the dry comforts, of the new $1.13 billion dollar U.S. Bank Stadium in Downtown Minneapolis, at the same site and footprint where the Metrodome stood. By the 1:05PM Eastern Standard Time gametime, the weather forecast outside the U.S. Bank Stadium is sunny skies at minus -14 degrees, feels like minus -30 degrees, along with 5% precipitation, 64% humidity, and southwest winds at 6 miles per hour. NO injuries, stay Colts Strong for your seventh win, and LET'S GO COLTS!!!!! http://www.colts.com/team/game/2016/regular15 http://www.colts.com/team/injury-report.html http://www.vikings.com/team/injury-report.html http://506sports.com/
