  1. Hi, Colts fans! Our Indianapolis Colts are in Landover, Maryland, outside the Washington D.C. area, to play the Washington Redskins in their second straight preseason road game.. Both teams are 1-1, each seeking their second win in the 2012 NFL preseason.

Today's preseason game is unique, interesting, and should also be entertaining featuring the top two quarterbacks and selections in the recent 2012 NFL Draft playing opposite each other on the football field. Colts Andrew Luck, selected #1 overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft from Stanford,, and the Redskins Robert Griffin who won the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner while a student athlete at Baylor, and makes his FedEx Field debut tonight. Indianapolis will also see former Colt Pierre Garcon, who signed with the Redskins in the off-season late March.

Colts currently lead the overall preseason series over the Redskins both in Baltimore and Indianapolis by 15-12-1. Redskins however, has won the last five preseseaon meetings, including their 16-3 victory over the Colts at Indianapolis back on August 19, 2011.

Colts also lead the overall regular season series 19 games to 10, and have defeated the Redskins in their last visit to Washington during the 2010 regular season, highlighted by Peyton Manning's 57-yard Iong TD pass, Joseph Addai's 13-yard TD run, and Adam Vinateiri's 33-yard FG to break the tie, and win for the Colts on Sunday Night, October 17, 2010.

Indiana broadcast veteran Don Fischer announces the live TV game play-by-play, along with former Colts QB Jim Sorgi providing the game analysis, and sideline reporter Jeffrey Gorman both simulcast locally over-the-air on WNDY My Network 23 in Indianapolis and Marion, on national cable for the NFL Network, and worldwide to our US military personnel on the Armed Forces Broadcast Network.

Bob Lamey, our 'Voice Of The Colts,' and Will Wolford will also announce the live radio game play-by-play and analysis, along with sideline reporter Kevin Lee, simulcast in Indianapolis on flagship stations WFNI ESPN SportsRadio 1070AM, and WLHK Country 97.1FM, and the Colts/Vectren Radio Network.

Scattered thunderstorms and partly cloudy skies at 77 degrees, feels like 79 degrees, is forecast for the 4:05PM Saturday afternoon kickoff from FedEx Field at Landover, Maryland, along with 64% humidity, 40% precipitation, and east/northeast winds at 10 miles per hour.

Colts will wear their matching white jerseys and pants as the visiting team, while the host Redskins will dress in their burgundy jerseys, and gold pants.

Both Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, and the Colts and Redskins starting offense and defense units will play opposite each other through the first half, before the reserve players, drafted free agents, and signed veterans and free agents enter and play on the field the second half. Colts and Redskins coaching staffs will evaluate their players in the remaining course of today;s game as the reserves continue to audition, and showcase their talents on the field of play to earn themselves to the the final 53-man roster or practice squad. All NFL teams first major cutdown is from 90, to 75 players on Monday afternoon.

NO injuries to Andrew, RGIII, and all the Colts and Redskins players on the field in the battle of the 2012 NFL rookie quarterbacks and their teams, and Coach Chuck Pagano and the Colts try to win their second preseason, and road game by tonight. 2. Andrew Luck threw two costly interceptions, and Steelers unfortunately defeated our Colts 26-24 Sunday Night, as Indianapolis preseason record is 1-1 .

Colts move on back to the East Coast to Washington D.C, for the battle of the top two rookie quarterbacks on Saturday Night. Andrew Luck vs. Ropbert Griffin III (RG III)!

  3. Hi, Colts fans! Our Indianapolis Colts are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to play the Steelers in a nationally televised game for NBC Sports. Colts will try another strong performance on the field to win their first road game of 2012. :steelers: Rookie Andrew Luck faces a bigger challenge as he leads the Colts offense at QB opposite the Steelers 'Big' Ben Roethlisberger.

Colts wrapped up their training camp at Anderson University on Friday as new Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano and his coaching staff reportedly accomplished all of their preparation for their 2012 NFL season. Past three weeks of practice during training camp also built relationships and solidarity between the coaches and players, as they carried their off-season Organized Training Activities (OTA's), and further learned football fundamentals, skills, and their playbooks, as they continue to prepare for the regular season in September.

Indianapolis currently leads the all-time preseason series entering tonight over Pittsburgh 11-9, and both the Colts and Steelers meet in the preseason for the first time since 2000, when both teams traveled and played a preseason game in Mexico City, edging Pittsburgh 24-23. Steelers though, won the recent regular season meeting over our Colts, also on Sunday Night Football, during Week 3 by the score of 23-20, at LOS back on September 25, 2011. Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham broke the tie to kick the game-winning FG for the Steelers.

Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth will announce the live national TV game play-by-play and analysis, along with sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, for NBC Sunday Night Football, including WTHR NBC 13 in Indianapolis, and worldwide to our military personnel on the Armed Forces Network all on HD. NBC's 'Football Night In America' precedes the network game coverage at 7:30PM Eastern Time.

NFL Network will also replay the Colts @ Steelers game at 3:00AM Tuesday morning, Eastern StandardTime.

Our 'Voice Of The Colts,' Bob Lamey, game analyst Will Wolford, and sideline reporter Kevin Lee are in their sixth NFL season together broadcasting live radio coverage of Colts games on flagship stations WFNI ESPN SportsRadio 1070AM, and WLHK Country 97.1FM, and the Colts/Vectren Radio Network, with complete game coverage beginning tonight at 5:00PM Eastern Time.

Partly cloudy skies at 76 degrees, feels like 78 degrees, is forecast in Heinz Field for tonight's 8:05PM kickoff, along with 52% humidity, 20% precipitation, and very mild south/southeast winds at 6 miles per hour.

Colts will dress their matching white jerseys and pants as the visiting team, while the host Steelers will wear their black jerseys, and gold pants.

Colts and Steelers starters in the offense and defense may play most of the first half, before the veteran reserve players, rookies, and signed veterans and free agents enter the field to showcase their talents, and set the course the rest of tonight's game, while at the same time are evaluated by by both coaching staffs before rosters are cut to 80 players on August 28.

NO injuries to all the Colts players, as they and the Steelers will also be with the replacement referees. I also wish Andrew Luck another great performance on the field, and keep the Steeler fans from waving their 'Terrible Towels.' Let's GO COLTS!!! :cheer::1colts::coltslogo::coltshorse::colts::coltsfb::coltshelmet::blueshoe::D:cheer:

  4. Folks, today's game thread on the Colt's win and Andrew Luck's debut as a Colt will remain open in case Colts fans would like add additional comments during the 9:00PM game replay on the NFL Network. I also checked NFL Network's program schedule this week but unfortuantely, NFLN is not replaying again the Colts/Rams game after tonight.

  5. Not a problem....Mr Lucas Oil Stadium added good info too.

By the way we should all thank LOS for a superb game day thread! Thanks again. And thank you to every fan that joined in to usher this new era in! Great job and great comments guys!!!

    Thanks again LOS......

And Gavin: you got your INT!!!!!!!!! :)

You're very welcome, BrentMc11. Hard for the expectations to continue with just one preseason game. Today's game was the battle of the two of the youngest teams in the NFL in 2012, the Colts and Rams. Maybe Colts management wants the team to be younger as a whole in the next few seasons to come, so the players we have now can gain NFL experience, and help the team become playoff-caliber again.

Andrew Luck's potential could be endless. I did have reservations when Jim Irsay waived Peyton, but this is a new generation of Colts players we are seeing transpire on the field, and my hopes and expectations are gradually getting high and confident, one play, one game at a time. Just my wishful thinking.

38-3 win today. Colts have a full practice week to prepare their next game against the Steelers. GO COLTS!

  6. Stanton played for the Jets, previously didn't he? That would mean he's familiar with Brian Schottenheimer's offense, right? Wonder if he's passed along any tips to the D?

Stanton demanded and insisted to be traded because the Jets already acquired Tebow in a trade with the Broncos, who signed Peyton Manning as a free agent. Stanton signed with the Jets after leaving the Lions as a free agent himself. He only was a Jet for a week or two before he came to the Colts.

  7. Andrew Luck will start and get to play the first two or three series, at least in this first preseason game with the Rams. I wouldn't be surprised if Drew Stanton comes in and takes the majority of the snaps today. Harnish shoould enter the field no later than the fourth quarter.

  8. Welcome back everybody as our Indianapolis Colts finally start their 2012 NFL season! Colts begin their 60th season in the National Football League, and 29th season in Indianapolis., as they host the St. Louis Rams in a nationally televised sold-out preseason game at LOS. :rams:

Colts enter today with the most turnover in personnel between seasons, both front office and players, since the team arrived at Indianapolis since 1983. A new era begins in earnest with new Head Coach Chuck Pagano, who helped lead the Baltimore Ravens to the AFC Championship last season as their Defensive Coordinator, and new General Manager and Indiana native, Ryan Grigson, who was the Philadelphia Eagles Director Of Player Personnel last season. Both men were hired by Colts owner Jim Irsay to replace Bill and Chris Polian, and Jim Caldwell and his entire coaching staff respectively, after the 2011 season.

Colts subsequently filled their new coaching staff to support Head Coach Chuck Pagano with Bruce Arians as the new offensive coordinator for Andrew Luck, Greg Manusky as the defensive coordinator, Marwaan Maloof special teams coach, Roy Anderson, James Bettcher, Brant Boyer, Clyde Christensen, Gary Emanuel, Jeff, Fitzgerald, Joe Gilbert, Mike Gillhamer, Frank Giufre, Harold Goodwin, Alfredo Roberts, David Walker, Brad White and Charlie Williams. Roger Marandino and Richard Howell were also hired as the Colts strength and conditioning coaches.

Colts also named T.J. McKreight, Director Of College Scouting, and hired Dave Razzon and Ahmad Russel as area scouts.

Colts finished their 2011 NFL season with a 2-12 record, winning over Tennessee and Houston at LOS in December, and earned them the #1 overall pick in last April's NFL Draft. Colts owner Jim Irsay decided to release fan favorite Peyton Manning to save from his $26 million option had he been retain to play in 2012. Peyton also was inactive from the field the entire 2011 season because of his neck surgeries.

That move paved the way the Colts still were proceeding in a reloading and rebuilding mode, using their #1 over pick in the 2012 NFL draft to select highly coveted quarterback Andrew Luck from Stanford. Colts also selected Andrew's teammate from Stanford, tight end Coby Fleener. Other rookies drafted by the Colts include Dwayne Allen, Justin Anderson, Vick Ballard, LaVon Brazill, Josh Chapman, Tim Fugger, Eugene 'T.Y.' Hilton, and QB Chandler Harnish, the 254th pick and last selection drafted in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Colts.

Reggie Wayne is the the only Colt veteran to remain and re-sign with the Colts, now the senior player on the team roster, as he re-signed to a three-year extension on March 13. Reggie is entering his 12th NFL season, and will remain a Colt through 2014.

    .

Colts also signed veteran free agents Kris Adams, Justin Anderson, Donnie Avery, Vick Ballard, Josh Chapman, George Foster, Jerrell Freeman, Dominique Jones, Deji Karim, Justin King, David Legree, Mike McGlynn, Brandon Mc Kinney, Kyle Miller, Matt Overton, Cory Redding, Samson Satele, Jason Shirley, Andre Smith, Zane Taylor, Trevor Vittatoe, and Tom Zbikowski.

Undrafted free agents signed by the Colts after the 2012 NFL Draft include James Aiono, Chigbo Anunoby, Steve Baker, Jerry Brown, Cameron Chism, Kevan Eagan, Antonio Fenelus, Jason Foster, Chris Galiappo, Hayworth Hicks, Buddy Jackson, JLarry Lumpkin, Matt Merletti, Ty Nsekhe, Micah Pellerin, Jabin Sambrano, Brian Stahovich, Latarrius Thomas, and Griff Whalen.

In off-season player transactions, the Colts acquired QB Drew Stanton in a trade with the New York Jets, traded CB Kevin Thomas to the Philadelphia Eagles for LB's Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd, traded FB Chris Gronkowski to the Denver Broncos for DB Cassius Vaughn, and claiming Zane Taylor, and Korey Lindsey off waivers from the Eagles, and Arizona Cardinals.

Veterans also departed and cut from last year's Colts roster besides Peyton Manning include Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark, Jerome Fulton, Pierre Garcon, Anthony Gonzalez, Dan Orlovsky, Curtis Painter, Jeff Saturday, Jacob Tamme, and Blair White on offense, and Jamaal Anderson, Gary Brackett , Melvin Bullitt, and Jacob Lacey on defense.

Rams defeated the Colts in their last preseason meeting down I-70 at St. Louis 19-17 six years ago back on August 10, 2006. Rams also lead the Colts in the all-time regular season series 22-17-5 since the rivalry started in 1953, and is tied 3-3 in games played at Indianapolis. Rams are also in a new era with new Head Coach Jeff Fisher, who was away from the NFL in 2011, and coaching the team that defeated his Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV.

Colts Vs. Rams will simulcast live both over-the-air on WNDY My Network TV Channel 23 in Indianapolis and Marion, and on national cable TV on the NFL Network on HD.. NFL Network will also replay the Colts Vs. Rams home game again tonight at 9:00PM.

Legendary Colts broadcaster Bob Lamey enters his 26th NFL season as 'The Voice Of The Colts,' with the live radio game play-by-play, with former Colts and NFL offensive lineman Will Wolford providing live radio game analysis , and sideline reporter Kevin Lee, together begin their sixth season announcing Colts games, simulcast on flagship stations WFNI ESPN SportsRadio 1070AM and WLHK Country 98.1FM, and the Colts/Vectren Radio Network throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. Colts nine hours of game day radio coverage begins this morning at 7:30AM Eastern Standard Time.

Colts also begin their fifth NFL season playing their home games at LOS, and the roof may be open today for this afternoon's 1:35PM kickoff because sunny and clear skies are forecast at 80 degrees, along with 41% humidity, 0% precipitation, and southwest winds at 6 miles per hour.

NO injuries to all the Colts players, especially Andrew Luck and the rookies, as all the Colts play their first game on the field in their 2012 preseason. GO COLTS!!! :cheer::coltshelmet::coltslogo::colts::coltsfb::coltshorse::1colts::blueshoe::helmet::cheer:

  9. Hi, everybody! I hope it's still timely to post more news, and pictures, on Chandler Harnish's visit to Southern California last week as he was honored as 'Mr. Irrelevant.' for being selected the 254th, and last draft pick of the 2012 NFL Draft last April by the Colts.

Chandler was able to meet the Mr. Irrelevant creator, Paul Salata, and participated in local activities around Newport Beach and Costa Mesa, including a parade, a pony show, and a banquet in his honor that evening by the city of Newport Beach and local businesses, as Mr. Irrelevant. Chandler was even awarded the traditional 'Lowsman' trophy, compared the the Heisman, as the last player picked in the 2012 NFL Draft. Chandler even tried on a Colts jersey with the number 254.
