  1. I know that I can be dense at times, but I just don't get your analogy. It would make sense to me if the topic of this thread was which team will have the worst record next year. But, I think that any owner, GM, coach, player, fan would be thrilled to think about their team being in the SB; but I can't imagine that too many people would be thrilled to be the one chosen to die next.
  2. I don't remember watching that show, but I do remember that I was supposed to be Mrs. Paul McCartney. We were perfect for one another. :luv: We even shared the same birthday (month and day . . . not year . . . I'm not that old). But somehow, Paul never got the memo.
  3. I heard a similar rumor a few year's ago . . . although the woman telling me couldn't tell me what had happened because she had heard it from someone who had heard it from someone who had heard it from someone else. Seems strange to me that if there is any basis to this "rumor" that it wouldn't be all over the internet as Deadspin or TMZ would pay big money to anyone with proof that it was more than just a rumor.
  4. Well, that was silly considering that Peyton and the Colts always came out on top of Eli and the Giants.;) Good luck next year!
  5. Just want to thank Andy again, not only for once again organizing this contest; but for sending me a prize even though I told him that bragging rights were more than enough. My prize arrived yesterday and I was thrilled because it was perfect since I don't have anything like it and because "dice" were very fitting as I often had no clue which team to pick and would often just make my picks by "rolling the dice" aka "sheer, dumb luck". Andy! Those dice make my vehicle look sweet!
  6. I also want to thank you for organizing this challenge. Participating in challenges like your's and Andy's makes all the games more fun for me to watch. I may just retire though and not play next year so that I can go out on top.
  7. I was going to say that it was a toss up between this year's Broncos and the '07 Patriots. But, then I remembered this and have to give the edge to the '07 Patriots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rly4BuUKZS0
  8. Go Broncos And, what in the world is Namath wearing?
  9. Why would getting more former NFL players on the MVP selection committee rectify any bias when the problem that I and others are having is that Jim Miller (who is a former NFL player) supposedly voted for Brady just because he didn't want Manning to get the unanimous vote?
  10. I only get Sirius radio when it's free and even then, I usually stick to ESPN. So, I have no clue why Sirius picked this guy over any other hosts. I also would have no problem with him voting for Brady if it was because he thought Brady was more deserving. But, this not wanting Manning to have the unanimous vote is hogwash. BTW, Miller is getting some backlash on FB with posts such as: Sorry Pat, but I will no longer listen to your show (I listen daily) your co-host Jim Miller has proven he is NOT an expert but just a fan with silly opinions that was given a microphone because once up
  11. I'm doing this from memory of an article I read some time ago. So my memory may be fuzzy or things have changed. But, this I what I recall: The AP used to have 3 voters per NFL franchise. But, sometime in the late 90's; it was reduced to 50. Those 50 are a mixture of those whose main job is to cover the NFL on a national basis via radio, TV, the internet, or in print. In the case of Miller, he is a host on a Sirius NFL channel. Some of those 50 do also cover a team which I remember was questioned by a few at the time when Manning and McNair shared the MVP because one of those who vo
  12. I'm not taking anything personally and it has nothing to do with which side of the political fence upon which I may sit as I would have said the same thing if someone had started a thread to say that the Hoosiers should be concerned because the POTUS picked them to win the NCAA championship last year. All, I'm saying is that discussion of politics is a violation of board rules. But, I will bow out now and leave this thread to the discretion of the moderators.
  13. I don't understand why that would be a cause for concern. Hannity and Theisman seem to have been having a little contest. So far, Hannity is 6-0 and Theisman is 0-6. Hannity is picking the Broncos. Theisman is picking the Seahawks. Sounds like it may be more a cause for concern for the Seahawks. http://news.yahoo.com/video/sean-hannity-vs-experts-win-033934561.html
  14. Just adding a link with a little more info: Eli Manning and the New York Giants will wage a battle against what they called a meritless lawsuit filed Wednesday in New Jersey that claims that the quarterback and his team sold bogus “game-worn” jerseys, helmets and other bogus collectibles to unsuspecting customers. “The Giants told me this suit is completely without merit and I have no reason to believe otherwise,” Manning said Thursday as his brother Peyton prepared to play in Sunday's Super Bowl. “The Giants are going to fight it and so will I.” The New Jersey memorabilia dealer who fil
  15. Just wanted to post a little more info on this story: With the game pretty unexciting (the Knicks blew the Celtics out 114-88, and it wasn’t even that close), a few New York fans decided to have some fun at Welker’s expense. A gentleman sitting behind Welker must be a Giants fan, because he took the chance to mock Welker when he was showed on the jumbotron during the game. He first made the choking signal, and then pretended to bobble a ball, making fun of Welker for his big drop in Super Bowl XLVI against New York. http://boston.cbslocal.com/2014/01/29/new-york-fan-mocks-wes-welker-
  16. I think the below may be what you what you were searching for.regarding Irsay's comments at the time. Of course, the doubters are going to doubt his sincerity because that it was doubters do. But, when I read his comments; all I see is a man saying that he wants what he hopes is best for Peyton in the near future and what he hopes is best for the Colts in the long run. It's something where you know to duplicate what we've done in the last 12-plus years, that's very, very difficult to do. You know how hard it is. Peyton and I have talked about it. We all have through the years, how har
  17. I'm sure many of you have seen this before, but this thread reminded me of when Jay Leno had Mo Rocca interview some players on media day of SBXLI. My favorite was the "Saturday" underwear.
  18. I haven't written a blog for a long time and this is one that may only be appreciated by those with young children or grandchildren; but I wanted to share the story of the smile my grandson, Luke, put on my face today. He was told that he could pick out some books at the library and one of the books he choose was "Sport's Illustrated Kid's Football ABC's". Good job, Luke! When he saw a picture of Andrew Luck wearing his Colt's uniform; he said, "Colts". That really made me smile because I have been working for months to get my almost two-year old grandson to say, "GO COLTS". The only proble
  19. The Fort is #10 of the top 20 coldest large cities in the U.S. which makes me feel more justified for my years of moaning, whining, and complaining. http://www.weather.com/news/weather-winter/20-coldest-large-cities-america-20140107?pageno=11

After living in Fort Wayne for over 20 years, I never thought of it as being that cold. With the exception of this year, of course.

    COLTS VS CARDS GAME

Awesome picture! I love the face paint and the blue hair.
  21. I have been staying out of all the forums except for the misc forums for several weeks. But, this thread caught my attention and your response was pretty much what I expected. I have also been a member of various Colt's boards for many years In that time, I have seen numerous Patriot fans who seem to take great delight in bashing Peyton while praising Brady. I have seen usernames that mocked Peyton. I have seen Patriot fans go out of their way to take digs at Peyton. I have seen Patriot fans with sigs that were nothing more than jabs at Peyton. I have seen Patriot fans blame al
  22. Thank you, MAC; but you are being much too humble. I have no doubt that you would have smoked me if you had remembered to always make your picks. And, you should award yourself the "perfect week" prize. I've never been able to do that..
