  1. my opinions are based off facts

So therefore my opinions are facts. That's logical, right?

This site would be best served if each and every member were to put you on ignore.

That is my opinion based on the fact that I and many others find your posting style to be insufferable.

Therefore, my opinion is a fact.

  2. That was a great story.  I especially liked these words by Andrew:

“The fans were very open and accepting,” Luck says of Indianapolis. “I figured, if people are going to accept me to let me be me, then work your butt off, show up early, keep your mouth shut and I think I’m lucky to be surrounded by great teammates.”

As for soccer, I love watching the game and am looking forward to the World Cup.

  3. Whether or not she marries him it has no bearing IMO , The video of him dragging her out of the elevator will go with the Video of her receiving a upper cut which is battery no matter how you slice it . Unless there is equal evidence proving she used equal force there will & cannot be a not guilty .

I'm don't disagreeing with you whatsoever.  All I'm saying is that this woman will likely not say anything to support a case against Rice and may even try to defend him.

In the case of Pac Man, he was charged with assault.  According to Jones, two women approached him asking to have a photo taken with him.  Yet, the video clearly showed that he approached the women who didn't even seem to be aware of who he was or that he was even there before that point.  And, witnesses have said that he was telling these women that they were fat and ugly.

Jones said that another woman threw a beer bottle at him.  Yet, the video never showed that bottle leaving the woman's hand . . . just the beer.

Jones said that he then turned and slapped the woman which knocked her down.  Yet, the video never showed him turning around.  If he had, he would have been striking air as there was no one behind him on the other side of the fence.

However, he was found not guilty of assault by a judge which is why I wouldn't be surprised if this thing with Rice doesn't go anywhere even though I am in total agreement that it should.

  4. Given that Pac Man Jones was found "not guilty" of assaulting that woman at a bar last summer even though witnesses and a video refuted his claims, I wouldn't be surprised if this also comes to nothing especially since I have read that this woman still plans to marry Rice.

  5. While the emphasis does seem to be on the N-word, the article does say:

Newsome also said the committee talked about other slurs coming under any possible new rule, including homophobic slurs.

However, I am curious as to how they will decide what is offensive and what is not especially given the controversy over the Redskins.

I am also curious as to whether "slurs" also includes other derogratory words that have nothing to do with race or sexual preference.

  6. I was there during my military years. Worst food on the planet. The most gloomy climate on the planet. The most pale and spindly women on the planet. The moat frustrated men on the planet.

Seriously?  Isn't it enough that you have been doing your best to diss Peyton and the Colt's fan base?  Now you have to diss an entire country.

  7. Baby is 6 months old and pushing 7 months.  He learned how to whistle for a little while but seems to have stopped that.

Had a really good time last night with him.  Wife had to go to bed early so it was just me and the munchkin for the night.  He was in a good mood and was laughing at me and was entertaining himself by feeling my face and trying to take the glasses off my face.

Don't expect to see him in a Colts uniform though.  It does feel somewhat hypocritical but as much as I like to watch football I'd never let him play.  I'll teach him to play basketball or pretty much any sport he likes that won't lead to him getting Alzheimer's before I do.

I got him a little stuffed animal for Valentine's day, partially because I feel sorry for him cause he had to get vaccines that day and they feel the pain from those for 2 or 3 days.  (It really does break your heart a bit when you know they are in pain.)  Wife took some pictures of him in a basket with his present.

And here is one from Christmas that we are both wearing our Colt's gear.

Thanks for the pics.  Your son is adorable.

Now, it's never to early to start working on getting him to say, "Go Colts".

I worked with my grandson for a long time until he now calls any horseshoe a "Go Colts".

  8. Ok here is the update. Looks like this Colts fan will have to be a Colts cheerleader and not a player. Isabella Marie you don't know what you are in for. You're daddy is a Colts freak and hopefully you are crazy about the Colts as well.

Isabella is a beautiful name.  Congratulations on your upcoming Colt's cheerleader.  :cheer:

  9. While everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion, if you don't like the Beatles at all you are either deaf or out of touch with reality in my opinion. Just the production that was done along with George Martin has still not been done as well with today's fake digital sound. If you choose to overlook the impact of Rubber Soul, Revolver and Sargent Pepper and ending with Abby Road it is your loss.

haha  So since I don't like the Beatles, I am either deaf or out of touch with reality.

I also don't like potato salad, squirrels, and watching golf on TV.

What does that say about me?

  10. I don't think that's ugly

Makes me think of the Jared jewelry ad where the guy is thinking about giving his girlfriend a glittery jersey and his buddies talk him out of it and convince him to buy her jewelry instead

my daughter and I saw that ad........looked at each other and said "I'd wear that!"

    :offtopic:

Sorry to go off topic, but your post reminded me of how annoyed I was by some of the dumb stuff Kornheiser said on

    MNF.

Like when Jake Delhomme completed a pass to Dwayne Jarret and Kornheiser said, "Look, he went to Jared."

  11. I mean...this is good I guess...but what's gonna happen to The Big Bang Theory!?!?!?

The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular shows.  So, I can't imagine CBS canceling it just to make room for TNF.

My guess is that they will move it back to Monday night or some other day/time slot that they feel is more advantageous.

  12. I know that SW, but that's not what this thread is about (as I was trying to point out).

This thread is flat out about asking Peyton to take a pay cut, which it sounds like you agree is an absurd proposition. Contract restructurings are about playing games with the cap - the player involved NEVER ends up with less money in their pockets as a result. In fact they virtually always get EXTRA money as part of the restructure. I also tried to point out that the BRONCOS don't appear to be interested in robbing peter to pay paul by creating large future dead money obligations. It's the TEAMS who do these things, it has precious little to do with the players.

And again, this was started by AM, and the motivation is to imply that "Brady has made a sacrifice, therefore he's better than Manning". As FX alluded to with a ;) in his reply, we've talked the Brady contract around in circles until we are all dizzy, and I don't believe that it was a sacrifice on his part in the first place. It's the most cynical kind of cap manipulation. The fact that the Broncos haven't stooped to the same level is admirable. The reality is that Peyton is ALREADY accepting perhaps $8 million or more less per season than he could get if he was putting his own financial interests ahead of winning. He's getting a fair contract.

Once again, it's a job. Players aren't fans, they are employees. All businesses are competitive. I'd love to find a person on here who is interested in reducing their own salary in hopes of improving their employers chances of competing and profiting. No, you obtain the most money that you possibly can, work as hard as you can, and when you leave the employer moves on. The Broncos owner is concerned with his own ego and profit, is he making a sacrifice for Manning? It's a business - period.

This all comes from people looking at their own paychecks and thinking "ah, he's rich, he doesn't need it". That's not their decision. Any employees LIFE revolves around how much money they earn. The job is simply what they do to earn the money. Why in Gods name would anyone expect an athlete to give away money to help the team? They pose it as a moral issue, but in actuality fans who suggest this are suggesting that a player swap one human failing (greed) for another (ego) because it benefits THEMSELVES. There is no moral high-ground here, everyone involved is thinking of themselves - such is life.

    What?

Are you saying that Brady wasn't being "selfless in every aspect of the word"???  ;)

  13. My sincerest & heartfelt condolences shecolt. A broken heart just like Humpty Dumpty just never fits or feels the same way again.

That's kind of you, SW1; but I don't remember my little teeny bopper heart being broken that badly as I think I quickly turned my affections to Davy Jones and Leonard Whiting.

It will probably take me longer to get over being compared to "Humpty Dumpty".  ;)

  14. Look, any forum member has a right to start any topic they wish, but asking who will play in the next SB after we just concluded this one is like showing up at a beloved members funeral & scanning the room to speculate as to which family member will die next. It's way too early to even guess about that situation yet.

Just give us all time to soak up & digest what just saw about 6 days ago. Thank you. JMO.

I know that I can be dense at times, but I just don't get your analogy.

It would make sense to me if the topic of this thread was which team will have the worst record next year.

But, I think that any owner, GM, coach, player, fan would be thrilled to think about their team being in the SB; but I can't imagine that too many people would be thrilled to be the one chosen to die next.
