  1. Okay, I've had that        haha

I will re-phrase my question.   The above story aside......    Many posters have stated that ALL teams file these false injuries, from time to time....  My Question is STILL  ~  what would be a benefit of reporting a false injury..??    Still makes a no sense a to me

I'll take a stab at this, but bear in mind that I should have been born a blonde.

Let's say you and I are on opposing teams.  You have a bum left leg, but your team files a false report saying that it is your right arm because they don't want anyone targeting your left leg.

I want to take you out of the game, so I target what I think is your bum right arm.

Of course, you and your team run the risk that I could also injure your right arm leaving you with a bum left leg and a bum right arm.

However, it would be more likely that I could further injure your already bum left leg rather than injure your healthly right arm had I know that it was your left leg that was injured.

Now, if you were perfectly healthy and your team said that you had a bum anything; I agree that would make no sense and I can't imagine why any team would file a false report saying that a player had an injury when they had none.

  2. Welker kind of mumbles anyway, lol...

I thought the OP meant, like, friends/family were reporting it. Which would be bad for Wes.

Thanks for the info though Blood.

To be fair to the OP, I think the "Pickle" also wrote something about it . . . and we all know that's a credible source. ;)

  3. How is this a non story? forget about pats hate or whatever. its about Players saying that what their former team report regarding injuries is false.

    how is that not relevant?

I'm with you on this one and I don't care if we are talking about the Patriots or the Colts or any of the other teams.

I don't understand why putting out false injury reports wouldn't be a big deal if proven to be true.

  4. Isn't obvious why they are selling? They could not afford it given Brady took a below market extension last off-season. (j/k)

I don't think there is much mystery here. Brady is tied to Robert Kraft as if he is his fifth son. The Kraft's are powerful people here in NE so probably best not to stray too far from the owner that gave you your chance and will pretty much help make happen anything you want in your life going forward. There has been some talk as well that Brady may want to get into politics after he retires so that may be another reason. And of course, the schools in Boston are much better then anything he could find in LA for his kids. ;)

Now, am, you are just being humble this morning.

The word on the street is that Tom is moving to be closer to you.  ;)

  5. The place looks sophisticated & regal at night all lit up & reflecting off the water. I like the exposed beams look in the kitchen. A very southwestern feel to it. I prefer that kind of architecture & adobe wall style actually.

The enclosed outside room was a cool summer retreat room too. But, at the end of the day, all I would really care about is a great chef who can make me whatever I want at 4 A.M. in the morning & a kick caboose home theater room/recording studio.

You know you've made it when you build a haven like that, walk away from it, & still have an endless stream of cash at your disposal like you only lost minor pocket change.

I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one who looked at all the pics of the home.

The lifestyles of the rich and famous has always fascinated me and I used to avidly watch Robin Leach's shows.

My favorite was the one with the guy who had a gold-plated toilet.

  6. Just wanted to give all of you a heads up so that you can get your bids in fast.

I'd buy it myself, but I'm not fond of moats . . . although I would love that pool.

This is really shocking ... the incredible European country estate Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen spent 4 years and $40 million building is on the market ... less than a year after it was completed.

Our real estate sources tell us ... the couple wants out of L.A. permanently and will be living full- time in Boston, where they're building another ridiculously big estate -- a 14,300 square-foot house on 5 acres.  The estate is listed for a cool $50 MILLION!!!

  7. Many are making excuses. Re-read the posts. Old sports injury...yada yada yada. People need to take responsibility for their actions. I hope he never takes another drink or drug again but I don't feel the least bit sorry for his situation.

Injuries are reasons as to why a person is put on prescribed medicine which may have led to his abuse of such meds.

I agree that people need to take responsibility for their actions and I have no reason to think that Mr. Irsay is not accepting responsibility.

I don't care if you own a sports franchise or are the garbage man I just don't condone this behavior under any circumstance. You guy are entitled to seek your own moral level and I'm perfectly fine with that. I wouldn't think of attacking you for your honest opinion.

Again, where is anyone saying that it is okay to drive while impaired or to become addicted to drugs?  All I have seen is fans offering their support.

So you think this time it will be a life altering event for him and I don't. I'm not going to insult you for your opinion.

It's not a support thread but a thread about him checking into a facility. A standard move in my experience.

You don't know for a fact that it will not be a life-alerting event for him anymore than anyone knows that it will.  All we can do is hope and pray that it will.

No they are not. I hope Mr. Irsay rights himself as much as the next guy but I don't feel bad for him one bit. This country has a huge substance abuse problem and I chose not to sympathize with abusers. I see that as a big part of the problem. We make it to easy and convenient for them.

I detest substance abuse and won't even get behind the wheel if I have had anything more than communion wine.

Mr. Irsay is fortunate that no one was injured and the knowledge that someone could have been is something that he will have to live with for the rest of his life.

However, I can sympathize with those who have become addicted the same as I can sympathize with Aaron Hernandez for whatever demons possessed him.  But, that doesn't mean that I am condoning murder.

It merely means that I can love the sinner while hating the sin.

  8. We've become a society of excuse makers. People don't even have to make their own excuses anymore because everyone does it for them. The USA is circling the bowl.

The implication here is that Colt's fans are making excuses for Irsay.

Yet, I haven't seen anyone condone what happened; but merely give their support and understanding.

Btw, shouldn't you be more worried about the latest news regarding the Patriot injury listings?

  9. Why would any fan not be supportive of someone in this situation. I'm a Vikings fan wishing all the best to Mr. Irsay. He is the type of owner that I would want for my team, regardless of his personal failings.

Because not all fans are as kind as you and IcEWOLF.

I haven't been to any other team's boards, but I remember reading some cruel comments on other team's boards after Dungy's son died. So, I wouldn't be surprised in the least to read some cruel comments regarding Irsay.

However, I have read a few tweets and all I can say is that some people are just plain nasty.  The sad fact is that all teams (including the Colts) have fans like that.

And, Mr. Irsay, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I can't even begin to imagine what you will be going through in the days ahead.

Heck, as an x-mod; I'm still trying to battle my "colts.com addiction" and it hasn't been easy.

I'm not saying that to trivialize your situation, but merely to say that you have my support and understanding

  10. Well you can't compare apples to oranges and DUI  is different from DUI and a control substance tacked on.  I can't see loosing a draft pick but I imagine it will depend on what the final charges are and the outcome. What I read is that the control substance is a felony. Let's hope it's just a 90 day suspension so then he could go to rehab and get better.  I'm sure his daughters can run things until he can get back.

Yes, it is different; and I agree that it will depend on what the final charges are.

I would think that the severity of the outcome for possessing a controlled substance will depend on the amount he possessed and whether or not he had a prescription.

Until today, I didn't know it was illegal to carry a controlled substance that was not in the actual prescription bottle.

As many here know, my husband has been blind for some time.  He is currently on Ativan and Vicodin (after a recent eye surgery).

Tomorrow, we will travel to Indy again and I would have put one of each of those pills in my purse as I have done before just in case he needed them without even thinking that I was committing a felony by doing so. :Yikes:

  11. I have not read through this entire thread, nor do I care to because I am sure that many people have jumped to their own conclusions.

But, I have read enough to know that some of the conclusions that have been made are wrong.  According to the IndyStar:

    1.  Alcohol was NOT involved.

    2.  Irsay was arrested at 11:41pm . . . not at 3am.  He was booked at 3:07am.

    3.  Irsay was not driving like some maniac.  The article that I am linking said that he was driving at a very low rate of speed and failed to signal a turn.

    4.  The drugs in his possession that were not associated with any prescription bottles were Schedule IV prescription drugs which may have been prescribed.

However, he still failed to pass several roadside sobriety tests according to the arresting officer.

  12. Is there any on this board?

I've only met a few from being from PA.. But is there any on this forum?

Given that PA has both the Steelers and the Eagles (both of which have been around since something like the 1930's), I'm sure that there aren't many female Colt's fans in PA.

But, there are a lot in IN and several on this board . . . although we are greatly outnumbered by the males.

  13. Meh, doesn't bother me in the slightest. Anyone who truly knows and understands Belichick knows that even if he felt that way, he'd never say it that way.  ;)

You'd think he'd go with Shane's quote, which is 100% legit. I know that's what I'd be using if it was the other way around, lol...

I'm glad it doesn't bother you, but the thought that anyone would post a false quote bothers me as it seems unethical or something.

  14. people quote heinous people from history all the time it doesnt mean you support them.

is everything anyone ever says online?

No, everything anyone ever says is not online; however, you are making a broad generalization that covers everyone from me to the homeless man on the street to the POTUS.

But, unless you spoke with Belichick privately; a comment such as that in your sig would be found online.

Peyton did make a similar comment regarding Belichick which can be found easily and the same should be true if Belichick had publicly said what you have quoted.  So, it should be easy for you to provide a link.

Hopefully, you did not post an erroneous quote as I would think that would be a violation of board rules.

  15. Can you tell I'm a rookie at posting. I assume all I had to do is upload the pics instead of choosing to add them to my post

Awesome gifts.  So awesome, that I'm taking the liberty of re-posting your pics to make them larger.

If that's not okay, please ask a mod to delete them.

  16. If the Colts think that Martin is a good fit, I have no problem with him being on the team.

And, I'm not worried about any media circus as I seem to remember that being one of the objections on this site to Manti Te'o after the social media hoax (or whatever it was called).

Yet, I can't remember reading much about that this year when he played for the Chargers as he seemed to blend in well and just go about business

And, I have no reason to think that Martin wouldn't do the same.

  17. As I read through this thread, I am somewhat confused because it sounds like some think this is a new rule; but I thought that the "taunting" section of Unsportsmanlike Conduct already included abusive or insulting language directed at another.

Back at the start of the season, I think there was a Seahawk's player who received a 15 yard penalty for something that was said to a Panther's player.

And, then there was a ref (whose name escapes me) who was suspended without pay for one game because of something he said to a player.

I just don't understand why there is so much emphasis on one word.  I suppose it's because that one word is used much more frequently, but there are numerous slurs that are just as bad IMO.

For example:  I know several guys who would let such a racial slur roll right off their back; but if someone were to use a demeaning word(s) to describe their mother, wife, sister, etc . . . those would be fighting words.
