"I think Denene and I are watching Gettysburg this weekend...I heard it was well done...has anyone seen it?" Yes, I have seen it. Denzel Washington & Morgan Freeman are in it as well. 2 actors at the top of their game IMO. Enjoy the film Brent!

Thank you to all my Forum friends for their kind words of compassion & concern on my behalf. I do appreciate them immensely. Stay safe & secure everyone as the heat & storms of summer linger & progress.

  2. An empty Status Update always says "What's On Your Mind?" Strange. Nothing is on my mind, but there is stuff in my mind though as Comedian George Carlin would say. Never interpret language as literal. It might lead to problems. Just Kidding!!!

I guess I am cut from the same cloth too MCF. I have been known to make a few grammer, I mean, grammar mistakes myself. I have a number of teachers in my family who taught me a lot about somethin' called learnin' too. HA! HA! No worries MCF. I respect you & I knew what you meant to say. It must be all them books you keep readin'. Just Kidding!!!

  3. Keep an eye on Wisconsin Tues. this June 5th, the Badger State will make the National News regarding a landmark recall election...1 way or another the outcome will be unforgettable

  4. SW1 To Gramz: We all value your Colts Forum contributions & insights & your friends need your calming influence to remain here. Stay Strong Gramz...

Well I agree 100% and am a bit sorry to see so many posters take a break because I fear they won't be back. We need more posters like GRAMZ and many others. The good ones take a break and some others keep hanging in there to share much of nothing. JMO of course. I'm not taking a break yet I want to make some miserable. haha Sorry shouldn't have said that. My Bad

Just a friendly reminder to drop Gramz a note & let her know how special she is as a person & how her absence from here not be a welcome sight or void that could ever be filled again. No one deserves to feel pushed aside or alienated. Everyone has a voice & that voice deserves to be heard. For those that have already done so, thank you. Losing a favorite blogger is like loosing a cherished family member. Hopefully, Gramz will make a triumphant return soon. We will wait patiently 4U.

  5. Did you ever notice the expression "To make a long story short" makes it sound like a person did something unflattering or you endured an experience that you don't want anyone else to know about...Hmmm...

A man was umping a high school baseball game for a little extra cash, he neglected to wear the necessary protection "down below" & to make a long story short this man with a deep voice now can hit all the high notes in his local church choir. Just do me a favor & don't mention the "strike zone" in this guy's presence ever again okay. Thanks.

  6. I realize that Lakers basketball star Ron Artest legally changed his name to Metta World Peace in 2011, but to me his name sounds like a United Nations Antiwar Summit riding the world of torture & mass genocide. If you could pick a new name what would it be?

    1. southwest1

      southwest1

Your new name selection can be serious, sarcastic, or odd. I don't care. Just tell me why you chose what you chose though. Names say a lot about a person's personality IMO, especially when you get to decide what it is.

It is surprising how fast a dvr'd game can be watched... :)

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

I have a DVR too MCF & you are 100% correct. It is nice to fast forward through commercials, but there is always the danger of seeing & hearing the final score on TV as you go to the recorded file & hit play...Not to mention hearing the final score on the radio too. The more you try to avoid something; the more that information literally seeks you out IMO.

    4. BrentMc11

I would use my dvr if I ever got a Colts game....Just say NO to the Bengals in Indiana!!!

  8. Yesterday former Speaker of the House "Suspended" his Presidential Campaign, why can't people just say I quit? AKA Political Gamesmanship on Overdrive IMO...

I applaud you Brent. It is hard to stay positive & motivated in the face of a glaring string of brutal defeats. The key is not to turn on 1 another & believe in your team mates through thick & thin. Yes, you are correct. To some, defeat is unacceptable at any & all costs. Fame, fortune, & the limelight never leads to happiness anyway IMO.

"suspend campaign".... another one of those convoluted "pc" word/terms to avoid saying anything real with finality... oi vey!

    4. southwest1

"oi vey!" is exactly right MCF. How can we expect children to grow & become responsible adults when politicians act like spoiled children & brats?

I was watching the Herd awhile ago, and Colin made a great point: He said in Peyton's circle of family and friends, he will be talking about the entire situation and one of them will say something that turns the table. Peyton Manning will then announce between the 3 favorites as the light bulb has been turned on.

Good point Brent. I despise the Dallas Cowboys myself & the Colts under Manning's QB leadership easily qualified as "America's Team" in my opinion. Life after Peyton. Not a pleasant thought. But, like you, I am a true Colts fan & the blue Horseshoe is where my true team loyalty lies. #18 will always occupy a special spot in my heart though. No question.

Humor puts us all on an equal plane of acceptance, approval, & existence right along with everybody else. It makes all human. Case in point: Why is dating a disabled person cool? You get the best parking spots at the mall, restaurant, or amusement park. What do you call s** in a wheelchair? Meals on Wheels. HA! HA! I love that joke & have a physical disability!!!

Here's my favorite "dumb"blond joke Linda: What do you call a brunette between 2 blondes? An interpreter. So bad...it's mildly funny. Linda, you are as sharp as a tack & I would never put you in this unflattering category. LOL Linda. You rock!!!
