I just felt like compiling a list of solid covers just as good as the original itself or slightly surpassing it. No judgements here folks because imitation is the highest form of flattery & recognition right? Quality is quality. Feel free to add at your leisure of course. All genres welcome naturally...

The song "Apologize" originally done by One Republic has been covered a lot, which tells you how good a track really is...
Here's my personal favorite straight out of Germany from a band called All Ends. The dual female vocalist treatment gives it some teeth. My kinda jam baby.
Country singer Luke Bryan also lays down a decent version of this number as well. [Not displayed here.]

I just watched the debut of NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" & I was not very impressed at all...They gave Conan O'Brien the axe for this guy? Are you serious? LOL!

I like Craig Ferguson because he reminds me of my father meaning you never know what he's going to say. He'd ask the same question to his neighbor, the President, or the Queen of England. He has no filter. He just says whatever pops in his head depending on his mood. Craig is also good at reading people & matching their tempo/body language. Plus, his Scotland stories always crack me up. Craig is comfortable in his own skin & what U see is what U get.

Jimmy Fallon also did a rap song to a Brian William's newscast, but why is this technique only applied to rap & hip hop songs as opposed to rock, blues, reggae, country, or heavy metal? It was clever though. See...

Just for giggles what would be the best & or worse voices to add to your GPS for directional assistance while traveling in a car, truck, van, or other vehicle?

Is it just me? I really could care less about the successful landing of the NASA Rover on Mars. Until human being start living on other planets like Star Trek colonies, I am not enthralled at all personally...

"Southwest is going to be startled when he gets on tomorrow to find all these notifications." I was pleasantly surprised to see such an full fledged debate here AC17. Nice!!! Space exploration takes time & does have a few longterm benefits. However, cost/benefit wise NASA innovations seldom aids a person's daily life. Latest cutting edge technology=only the filthy rich can afford it.

Please do!! I love that stuff. And also people who are into the music thing no matter singing playing instrument etc I encourage people on that. Being a music teacher of a sort, who ever it may be just learning etc I always put myself in their place because I know where I have been. I better quit, I could write a book on the subject. I really could type forever on the music things!! believe it are not, more than Colts. OK OK STop me here.

I was watching my nephew Matthew yesterday. He comes into my room, steps on the bed, gets flat on his back, stares at the TV upside down & asks "SW1 why are we here? What's your favorite cookie? Oreos or Chips A Hoy? & What do you like better the cookie or the creamy center? HA! HA! It made me chuckle. Little ones have a great perspective on things IMHO...

This reminds me of when my daughter was only 4. I was driving down the street and watching her in the mirror, in her own little world in the backseat. She was smiling and starring out the window. I asked her "What are you smiling about?"
She answered ......."candy".
How awesome is that? To be a child again. That simply thinking about candy could make them so happy.

Last night, I was watching recorded episodes of my favorite late night comedian, Conan OBrian, on TBS & he always cracks me up. He will do a joke slamming Dominoes pizza or Corona beer & then find out they are a sponsor selling ads on his show. LOL! Then he scolds his producer Jeff Ross for not stopping him from telling the joke. HA! HA!

I'm listening to Gwen Stefani belt out some classic No Doubt song tracks...I love quality women leading rock bands...Trust me, women are top notch musicians & singers too. Who are some other excellent favorite female led bands out there? In many cases, they are superior to their male counterparts in my estimation. Any other Suggestions?

I know what you what you mean Kayla that Jack Black line is so d*** funny!!! I love it when Jack talks to the smart kid of Asian descent who wears glasses & wants to quit the band as the keyboard player because he thinks he's not cool enough to be in the band & Jack does that pep talk thing & says "Hold out your hand." Does a man running with his index fingers & says "Let's Rock, Let's Rock today." I've been a happy go lucky goofy ne...

Okay, this is a pet peeve of mine especially around Christmas time. Buy $75 dollars worth of our merchandise & get a "free" $100 gift card...The word "free" means you are under no obligation to buy anything right? When will companies understand this factual reality? Sigh...

Staples seems to be the best with their rebates. The last two times I bought something that was supposed to have a 10dollar visa gift card attached to it, it arrived in about 10 days. Sure it would be easier just to knock the 10.00 off at the * and let Staples collect it, but I was able to use it elsewhere so that was a plus.

I was watching the Herd awhile ago, and Colin made a great point: He said in Peyton's circle of family and friends, he will be talking about the entire situation and one of them will say something that turns the table. Peyton Manning will then announce between the 3 favorites as the light bulb has been turned on.

Beware of the Idles of March today...Julius Caesar was stabbed 23 times on March 15th in 44 B.C. by Marcus Junius Brutus...a little history lesson

I just finished watching Ron Wolfley, AZ Cardinals booth announcer, do color commentary in a preseason game vs the Oakland Raiders. I love these freaking guy man. He's absolutely hilarious! He's like those 2 old senior citizen puppets on the Muppet Show was I was a little munchkin. Translation: You never know what the dude is gonna say. He's priceless baby.

Hey there Cs4, Nice to hear from ya brother. Ron Wolfley sounds a little bit like the former Minnesota Gov. & co-star of "The Predator" movie when he gets excited over a fabulous LB collision on the AZ field sometimes.
I only mentioned him since their HC, Bruce Arians, coached the Colts in 2012, while Chuck Pagano received cancer treatments. I usually follow a lot of former INDY players & coordinators etc. etc. I hope you are doing well my man.
Here's a picture of Ron Wolfley BTW:

I usually like off the wall play by play commentators because they don't care what fans think of them. They just wanna amuse themselves, laugh at their own shortcomings, & rave about their favorite team as often as possible.
If I was in Wolf's shoes, I'd be the exact same way. LOL! He knows football though. You can tell.
-
On ESPN 1st Take today, the guest host said "How much does love cost?" He was referring to NBA player Kevin Love who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves & might be traded. I've never laughed so hard in my life. LOL!

If Peyton Manning chooses Denver as his new NFL home, how many former Colts will go there with him & who will they be exactly?

Humor puts us all on an equal plane of acceptance, approval, & existence right along with everybody else. It makes all human. Case in point: Why is dating a disabled person cool? You get the best parking spots at the mall, restaurant, or amusement park. What do you call s** in a wheelchair? Meals on Wheels. HA! HA! I love that joke & have a physical disability!!!

A bank located in Cyprus on an island country in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, east of Greece, south of Turkey, west of Syria, Lebanon, northwest of Israel and north of Egypt is seeking European Union bailout money despite alleged ties to the Russian Mob. I have never heard laundered money called "hot & dark money" before. Have you?

Gramz always talks about the places these status updates often go. "Early withdrawal - I won't go there!!!!!!" "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." --Robert Frost "The Road Not Taken." Sometimes 100GFB, I really wanna go off road away from the Interstate. HA! HA! But I digress... Good one my friend...

I just paid my car insurance online for this month. I have a question: How does an insurance company calculate the value of a pet anyway? Income potential/earning potential is out. Is it based on specific breeds & medical care as the dog or cat ages? Are reptiles excluded from insurance protection too? I ponder peculiar items like this a lot. It's how my mind is wired I guess...

" Do they cover "cost of adoption" of replacement children as well? Just rubs me the wrong way." No argument there MAC. It seems condescending & cruel to me too. Well said my friend! When I thought my calico cat named Gypsy had died in the 1984 tornado that destroyed our home, I would have been insulted by a check designed to buy a new cat myself outraged actually.

As all my diehard Horseshoe Blue fans know, I live in Cheddar Head Packer Country & I must endure hearing how great QB Aaron Rodgers constantly is...I will trade in "discount double check" nonsense in any day for Bob Lamey play by play calls of precision Yoda touchdown drives or LB Gary Brackett 3rd down & short, game winning tackles every chance I get on my XM Satellite Radio.
-
Good point Brent. I despise the Dallas Cowboys myself & the Colts under Manning's QB leadership easily qualified as "America's Team" in my opinion. Life after Peyton. Not a pleasant thought. But, like you, I am a true Colts fan & the blue Horseshoe is where my true team loyalty lies. #18 will always occupy a special spot in my heart though. No question.

I'm a huge "Les Mis" fan, and I "knew" that Anne Hathaway would win best supporting actress from the moment I saw the first trailer in early December. Unbelievable. Haven't actually seen any of the contending movies yet, but the Oscars (as always) help you focus and make a list. I'll take a top nomination as a recommendation over a reviewers comments any day.

After 5 hours without power, hail, lightning & thunder, my Badger State home & location is fully restored with no worse for ware to report. Reliving Lincoln's childhood by candlelight, Priceless...

Okay, this is a pet peeve of mine. How come when you are watching a TV Program they break for a commercial, come back on the air, just to say they will be right back? What is the point of this exactly? It's both funny & incredibly irritating at the same time...The older I get, the more foolish TV seems to get. Strange IMO...

Yes Brent, that is extremely frustrating especially when you miss watching down & distance as a football fan. It's like watching a murder mystery on TV. They break to a commercial, come back, & then the end credits roll down the screen. Wait...What just happened man?! Huh? Who killed the billionaire in the study with crowbar?
-
"I was just thinking the same thing while watching a show the other day! It's pretty annoying to me." I know exactly what you mean ColtsSouljah...Sigh...It's like when your download speed on your computer slows down & says "buffering"...You are stuck in limbo & there's nothing you can do but wait, and wait, and wait...and wait.

I was listening to CBS sideline Thursday Night Football reporter Tracy Wolfson talk about Saints WR Kenny Stills having to "tape up his groin" in the 2nd half & that phrase made me cringe because ankles I get, but tape & a sensitive region of the body doesn't sound all that wonderful to me. Enough said.

Did you ever notice the expression "To make a long story short" makes it sound like a person did something unflattering or you endured an experience that you don't want anyone else to know about...Hmmm...

A man was umping a high school baseball game for a little extra cash, he neglected to wear the necessary protection "down below" & to make a long story short this man with a deep voice now can hit all the high notes in his local church choir. Just do me a favor & don't mention the "strike zone" in this guy's presence ever again okay. Thanks.

It always bothers me when women aren't respected as musicians like they are incapable of hanging with their male contemporaries because they are more than just T & A or just another pretty face.
To be honest with you, I just wanted an excuse to post songs from the spectacular band Heart because I revere Nancy & Ann Wilson & those timeless riffs & melodic melodies they created.
Oh, they can bring the house down too make no mistake about that. Am I about to go "Crazy On You?" Absolutely...LOL!
These ladies know how to strum their guitars, connect with an audience, & create vivid imagery with their lyrics & that's not as easy as it looks or sounds. Trust me.

I have never felt the need to express my feelings on how Women should be treated, as I was seemingly taught differently than some that should know better.
I too posted a tribute to the Wilson Sisters with the heading of, "Yes, girls can rock too!", a few weeks ago. These songs show that despite anatomical differences that we are all in this together...
-
I must have missed your Wilson sister tribute awhile back. My apologies if I stepped on your creative toes brother. It was not my intension to undercut you or minimize your tribute to these 2 iconic siblings in any way my friend. I will go back & check it out. A lot of mesmerizing musicians come from Seattle AKA 'Emerald City' BTW.
It's cool I get it. When you grew up dictates your vocal treatment of women either thru actions of politeness & kindness or speaking up publicly about the mistreatment of the opposite sex. Yes, I know every guy has commented on a female's attractiveness as they perceive it thru the eye of the beholder. The difference is that unlike 1 Presidential candidate most men I know would never view a woman as a personal possession to mock, ridicule, humiliate, & abuse overall.
Anyway, thank you for your thoughts RR7 & thank you to all who are gracious enough to put up with my music & movie fetishes. Much obliged.
-
You could never step on my toes my Brother! I hope all is well!
And you have my support Sir......I have held women in my arms that felt comfortable enough with me, to have reincarnated the travesties of times past. It was hard not to want to react because actions caused this dilemma...kindness and understanding were needed. Strength is measured in character...and you are one of the strongest people that I have ever had the fortune to call my Friend!
