  1. I think it’s the weakest group. Kenny is the only one we’re sure of. Juju looked decent, but he played about half a season. Jones did okay, but we can’t continue to say “for a late draft pick”. Draft position no longer matters, play does. Flowers has started something like 5 games in two years. He also showed promise. But we don’t know if teams will expose him like they did Jones once they see his tendencies. So, yes, I think a veteran CB is a huge need…and safety isn’t that far behind.
  2. I don’t know much about Worthy, other than his speed being his greatest asset and his size his detriment. But, as you said, if he can play like TY…. But we have Downs in the slot so is that a needed player? One thing Pierce doesn’t get a lot of credit for is is blocking. Not sure if Worthy could come near that. I’m with you on my choices at 15, Bowers or BTJ. I loved hearing about their passion for the game. They talked about Thomas Jr sprinting 75 yards down the fired to throw a block for another receiver. And how Bowers came back from an injury much sooner than they wanted him to because he wanted to play. Get the D backfield in free agency. We already have young guys there. Get the receiver at 15.
  3. Every team is going to have them, it's going to happen. What are our weakest positions when it comes to depth? Here are my priorities in order: CB - The third starter, Jones, is weak already, we have a small sample size for Flowers, and we're counting on JuJu to continue to improve. Don't have a backup slot. We really need help here. WR - I like Pierce, and hopefully his talents will be used more with AR. If Dulin is back, he can be a decent X or Y. MPJ and Downs are legit. Very weak group. S - They have to sign Blackmon or a vet here. Very inexperienced group. Interior OL - I liked Pinter at C but he's not on the team, French may be decent. RB - If JT goes down, I think we can survive with a committee. IMHO, we need to get a veteran CB and S. Hopefully we get a WR in the draft.
  4. Well, that may be generous. Yes, they all started but the book is still out on Brents and Flowers. They could be good but I'd still like to have someone with experience besides Kenny, lined up with one of them. And their injury histories is concerning. You saw how teams started figuring out Jones at the end of the season. To be fair, he's a late round pick and did a good job. I just don't know if we saw his best or he'll continue to grow. Like you said earlier, you can only get experience by playing.
  5. Agree somewhat about Pierce, I guess he ran more route yards that anyone in the league, so he's probably in good shape. But I think Thomas Jr. is basically him but an upgrade. I love the kids attitude as much as his talent. If Bowers is there at 15 you have to take him, the kid is a baller. The TE room is good, and big if Ogletree and Woods can play. But I'd still take Bowers. I think we need a veteran, besides Kenny, at CB. Brents looks good, Jones was getting exposed at the end of the season, and even if they're counting on Flowers, it's a thin group. Sneed would fit in nicely. If we don't re-sign Blackmon, they need an upgrade. Nico Collins streaking down the field was enough to see that's true. So my draft board wish list would have Bowers, Thomas Jr., and if they're gone an Edge like Verse or Chop. But I'm kind of expecting to hear "The Indianapolis Colts have traded the 15th pick..."
  6. No. Ray Davies. The Kinks. I know, it’s a stretch.
  7. Kinky! (You’re probably too young to get the joke)
  8. Hull is a different kind of RB than Moss. Sermon was more in the Moss style. He was decent last season, I’d go with him again. But 2nd and 3rd tier RBs are a dime a dozen in the draft. Moss was a 1a, I doubt we’re drafting a guy that good.
  9. https://www.stampedeblue.com/2024/3/11/24097922/colts-speculated-as-trade-suitor-for-bears-justin-fields-as-backup-qb-option
  10. You’d probably last as long as the other Jimmy G.
  11. I checked my Magic Eight Ball. It said “Are you on drugs?” So I’m guessing…No.
  12. Ballard really needs to pick up a veteran CB who's a steady presence on the field and in the locker room. Not sure who that is, but there are a few available. Plenty of Safety's out there too, but I like our group if he re-signs Blackmon. I think that's the only real "need". Every other position would be "nice to have" and I'm sure would improve the team. But that CB room is awful thin.
  13. Nothing personal against Sam, but I'm not sure why he's on the roster. Maybe he's really good in the film room and on the scout team? He's never going to be an NFL QB.
  14. Hey @NewColtsFan, remember the discussion we had regarding where Minshew could possibly go? I went back and looked at it and we agreed that the Raiders were the most likely possibility. I wonder if Gardner's agent read our comments, lol!
  15. I’m a Buckeye and I still wouldn’t want to pay that price. Now, if he really wants another junior on the team, there’s Thomas Jr. But when it comes to the 15 pick I’m expecting to hear “The Indianapolis Colts have traded their pick…”
  16. I’d love to have him, but I just can’t see Ballard spending $40M+ on two WRs. There are a bunch of WRs in this draft. I’m not giving up on Pierce either.
  17. Produced well too, and has stayed healthy. Some guys (TY) know how to get down and avoid the big hits.
  18. Oh, I'm sure there are baseball diehards that watch entire games on TV. I just haven't met any, lol! Not to get personal, but are you either very young (under 20) or and old guy (like me)? It seems like the MLB audience is more and more the metamucel and geritol crowd.
  19. I've asked this question to several people and have yet to get a "Yes" answer: Can you sit through an entire MLB (non-playoffs) game on TV? In a way, the regular season NBA is about the same. The only thing you have to watch is the last two minutes. But I don't care what anyone tells me (and my kids played) I will never understand why soccer is popular.
  20. I had a little rubber gorilla that hung from the mirror in my car. My girlfriend at the time knew how much I liked Curtis and she made a little Colt's shirt with his 32 to put on the gorilla. In retrospect, that may have not been very PC if he wasn't a white guy.
  21. Wow, we have a lot in common. Even though I’m from Ohio, I became a Colts fan. Johnny U, Tom Matte…. I also became a Bullets fan because Earl Monroe was my favorite player. I laughingly tried to model my game after him. And for some reason I’m (was) a Tigers fan. Al Kaline, McLain, Lolich… I think some of it has to do with all of my friends being Cleveland or Pittsburgh fans in every sport and I wanted to be different. But now, like you, I’m all Colts and Buckeyes.
  22. Then we have the same wiring. What has changed for me over the years is - I used to be a huge MLB, NBA, and NCAAB fan, now I couldn’t care less about them. (Never cared for hockey or soccer) Colts, NFL, and college football occupy all of my sports time. Dont really even keep up with the others anymore.
  23. I think if Austin was playing with the newer rules protecting players, he would have had a longer career. Although, a cheap hit like the one that took him out, could always happen. I just think it's so cool that he and Shane played together in high school and are still friends.
