  1. To be fair, most of the reporters are Eagles reporters. So limited information on anything the Colts may have done well. Eagles are one of the best defensive teams in the league and they've only added weapons, so I don't expect us to easily score on them. I'm interested to see how everything goes in the actual game. I don't think we should take too much away from this practice other than our team is young and has some growing to do.
  2. Yea I've read the "mileage" thing but I don't subscribe to that at all. Age matters more IMO. It's all about how you body bounces back and heals from injuries. Younger = better and faster recovery. JT isn't at the point that he's getting slower because he ran more yards and took more hits over the last 4 years.
  3. Brain injury? Can he not just say concussion? Brain injury gives me bad vibes it's more than a concussion lol.
  4. I don't disagree. I think it's a win-win for the Colts either way. They let him play his cards and talk to the teams. If he doesn't find a suitor it's validation for him that what he wants doesn't exist at the moment or he finds what he wants and pushes to get a deal done. Good play by the organization honestly.
  5. I'm not sure if you point was more so the Colts are price conscious so would be hesitant to eat his salary or if you meant that other teams would be more willing since every million counts but JT's contract is already counted towards our cap. If a team gave us a 1st to eat this salary for one year, it'd be done in a heartbeat.
  6. Maybe a bit unrealistic but I still think that's what it will take for the Colts to trade him. It all depends on what JT is honestly asking these teams for in a contract extension. Which we've only heard rumors on. Cook is 4 years older and hasn't been a season rushing leader. I think a better comparable is Barkley who is getting paid ~11 million this year. If JT is honestly asking for ~16 million then no question, no team in their right mind is doing that. However, if he's requested extension is more in line with the market, I could see teams willing to pay picks & player.
  7. If a team was willing to give the Colts a 1st round pick for JT I'm sure they'd be willing to eat the whole salary this year LOL. Not like they need it this year.
  8. Totally agree, Colts have a floor in their minds that will not be moved but I do think teams that are willing to trade for/pay JT can get creative to give us the value to hit that floor. I could see a 2ND + player, or something like two 3rds + 4th/player. Ballard/team has always been great in the 2nd-3rd rounds too, so we shall see. Either way, we either get value we are comfortable with for him or he plays for us this year and tries to play well. I just don't see him sitting purposely as an option.
  9. I think the 1st round ask is just the starting point. In no world do I think that's the only thing the Colts will accept. In any negotiation, you start high and work your way down to something more reasonable so both parties feel like they made out on the deal. He's a first round talent and still young but I think the Colts would accept quite a bit of different combinations of picks/players. To your point, I could see him still playing for the Colts because teams may not even want to negotiate anything more than a 3rd considering his contract situation and the "health" concerns. I don't see him sitting the year. It's not beneficial for him to do so. That would turn far too many teams off of him, add another year removed from when he was playing well and would do absolutely nothing for him contract wise come next year. If he wants the money, he plays well this year for the Colts or gets the trade he's looking for.
  10. I agree. I was just telling some friends I don't understand why the Colts are allowing this to go on. I don't blame the guy for wanting to be paid but hold out away from the team instead of bringing in a toxic attitude to a very young team. If he's not going to hold-out and away from the team like he should be doing his "injuries" give him the perfect excuse to stay away and "rehab". It's all a show. The only thing I can think of is that the Colts are allowing him to be with the team in hopes of salvaging something but honestly, he's doing more harm than good IMO.
  11. I think Lenoard will continue working his * off to get back on the field. The dude is trying, you can see it. He loves football and I don’t think anyone wants him out there more than he himself does. JT will be interesting. I don’t buy the whole he’s not healthy story. I think this is purely contractual. He basically was a fake “hold-in” to save face but it’s backfired. He doesn’t get fined but this whole thing has been a mess. He’ll play this year. He wants to get paid he’s got to put some good tape out there. Dude would be 2 years removed from his best season as a free agent. He needs to show up and show up well if he wants the money.
  12. Maybe it’s a one way trip and we’re trading him to Philly 🤣
  13. I think he got injured one of the days in training camp if I recall correctly.
  14. Dulin on IR and I’m guessing this isn’t good news for Strachan who appear to tweak his groin.
  15. If you watch his TD catch he grabs his groin quickly. Looks like he pulled something.
  16. If AR breaks Manning’s rookie INT record, this coaching staff has not put him in the appropriate position to play to his strengths. No way he should come close to that.
  17. I get what you’re saying but don’t be bummed. I don’t think it means we’re giving up on the season. I actually think it’s confirmation that their faith in him has only intensified and not just the front office but his teammates. One could argue we have as good or better chance winning with him starting then Gardner. Picture being this dudes teammate, his style of play can energize and elevate the rest of the team. Of course there will be growing pains but I think you’ll get a lot more buy-in from the guys knowing the carousel has stopped.
  18. I agree with this. All of these RBs are basically crossing the picket line to come back to work now. The only other notable holdout RB outside of JT is Josh Jacobs, who basically has a guaranteed ~10 million from the franchise tag. He's probably trying to work a 1 year deal similar to what Barkley did. Hopefully these guys take a look at the Le'Veon Bell situation and learn from it. I want JT to get paid but he didn't read the room too well, I feel for him. He was far too verbal in April about playing out his contract then did a 180 which did him no favors in public view. Best he can do is come out this year and ball out to earn his money next year with the Colts or someone else.
  19. JT isn't hurt. I think his ankle is just a convenient excuse. This is purely a contract hold-out. He wants an extension, Colts don't want to give him one or one of the caliber he feels he needs. Is what it is. I'm glad they got him away from the team once they realized he's more of a distraction than anything else.
  20. Can't imagine it was Saturday. Saturday had Shaq shut it down. He would've done the same with Taylor. My guess is, people were trying to save their jobs. Didn't JT get hurt early in the year as well? EDIT: Just checked, Taylor injured his ankle in week 4 (first game against TEN). I could certainly see some plausibility to him being encouraged to play by the staff. We were 1-1-1 when he got injured.
  21. It's wrong to "attack" a player without a doubt, but it's appropriate to criticize their behavior. Sometimes those can be a fine line and fans just take it too far. Any job is open to criticism though, or at least should be. I think this could have been handled by the team and Taylor far better. Fan's aren't mad that Taylor is just attempting to "provide for his family". That in itself is a little out of touch as even on rookie deals these guys are in top % of lifetime earners. I'm all for him getting a fair deal, when the time is right. Now is not the right time. Coming off a poor season for himself and the team makes the timing just feel ridiculous. Taylor's recent 180 is pretty jarring to a lot of people who are looking at this from the outside in. One minute he was committed to play out the contract, the next his tune changes big time. Can't fault the team for not accommodating his requests.
  22. I think ARs as advertised so far. Some really awesome flashes of potential but consistency isn’t there yet. This is all good so far, we know he will take some time on the passing front. I think he’s probably actually doing better than expectations overall, at least those who had realistic ones. He will shine brighter when he has room to be creative and take off. I’m betting we see some lightning during preseason.
  23. I read it as people don't' always get what they want. It is what it is and life goes on regardless. His comments definitely don't help but honestly...he's not wrong and it's refreshing to know that "no" still exists. JT thinks he's doing what's best for him and the RB position. JT is under contract, play it out or not. Colts have always rewarded their own. Look how Pitt is handling this season. Way different than Taylor.
  24. Pittman and AR will be a good fit. You have a guy with AR's arm strength you want big WRs with strong hands that can catch rockets on the cross. I think our WRs/TEs actually compliment AR incredibly well.
