  1. I think this can definitely be the case, just in a different way then Peyton did it. Peyton knew everyone’s role as good or better than they did. He held the team to an expectation and forced them into spots/windows. Very cerebral and knew what he wanted. AR, at least initially I think will help the team take advantage of off script and creativity. Allowing players to work zones and run routes that we haven’t seen since Luck. We have so many tall receivers that I think they honestly have a chance to shine with ARs strong arm. This young team will feed off the flashiness of some of the stuff we’re about to see this season. I expect an energy to this team we haven’t seen in awhile.
  2. Anthony dwarfing Bryce and Levis on his tippy toes in the back.
  3. While it can't be proven, I feel strongly that a team would have taken Richardson in the first had we not. His potential ceiling at the most important position is too high for 32 teams to pass on him completely, especially with the added hype of his combine and measurables. I actually don't think he would have made it out of the top 10 honestly. Seahawks would have grabbed him or a team would have traded up. I don't think the noise about him strongly being considered by the Panthers as a #1 pick was inaccurate.
  4. This^. Colts are not getting that money or cap space back. He can do what he wants after the cut and all of that is still locked in. His post says it's not retirement but I can't see who would pick him up unless it's in a backup role for a young QB.
  5. I don’t mind it. Gotta prove we are exciting and now if I buy the YouTube package, I don’t have to deal with any local blackout nonsense and will get basically every game.
  6. No doubt, Luck was truly something else. I don’t want AR to try and be anything but himself though. He has skills Luck didn’t have and vice versa. As Ballard has said, he doesn’t need to be superman for us. I think we can win games with him and it’ll be far more fun than what we watched last year. I definitely don’t think 11 wins is realistic but show me .500. Show me at least 3-3 in the division. LFG
  7. Exciting times! I think this roster is better than 2012s roster. Just need AR to show us a little magic and we can be .500 at least.
  8. From out of state, so 1 @ LOS is always a tradition. Usually go for the Jags game. Never been to a season opener though, pretty excited. The other may be a trip to watch them play Cincy.
  9. I don’t disagree. Without a doubt a lot of questionables but every team has that. I don’t agree that this is a bottom 3 roster. No way in hell. On the defensive side we will be better this year than last. Our pass rushers have another year of growth and I’m feeling a breakout. Dayo will be healthier after another year of recovery. Buck and Grover still giving us one of the best rush defenses in the league. There is talent there. They kept us in games we had no business being in almost all year including beating the SB champs. Not even including Shaq. I don’t see any scenario that our offense is worse this year then they were last year. Regardless of which of our QBs start.
  10. I’m a bit more optimistic. I think with his deep ball and our YAC WRs he will get 3000. 3100 passing yards 25 passing TDs 13 interceptions 800 rushing yards 8 rushing TDs
  11. Geez. I really didn’t think we’d be that low. I don’t feel like our roster is terrible at all. Obviously some big questions on Offense but our defense has the capability to be very good IMO.
  12. Agree. He's plenty fast. Downs had one of the quickest short yard bursts at the combine. I think that will jump out most, hit him on a slant and he's going to push through quickly.
  13. Top end speed is overrated IMO. I rather have a precise route runner that has great quickness and acceleration who can find the gaps in the defense. That is going to give you more consistent production and moves the chains. EDIT: To be clear, I am not saying it's not a good trait to have. I just don't think it's the defining factor in creating a great player.
  14. He definitely seems to be laboring more than normal. The other odd thing with Irsay was the clip of his call with Richardson. Ballard and Shane talk to AR using the standard landline but then you see Irsay using his iPhone. With the other draft picks you see Irsay using the landline. Maybe they didn’t catch all of what Irsay said to AR and had him reenact it? Just a weird inconsistency I noticed.
  15. Definitely a rebuild year. With that being said, this team wins more games this year than they did last year and I’d be happy to make a large bet on that. At least 6 wins.
  16. We are already kinda into the final phase of free agency. You’ll see movement as vets get cut/released during training camps and cap structuring for the rookies. I don’t think we should expect too many signings at this point but maybe a few. Could see a trade or two also as the roster begins to take shape. E.g. MAC getting traded for a pick or a player.
  17. IMO, Reich got at least two of the QBs he wanted while he was here in both Rivers and Wentz.
  18. I definitely agree that there are some old school football guys that want these young men to show up, throw, and compete, even at the combine. Pat had a big segment about this during the combine and the consensus across the former players was basically, yes, get your * out there and compete. Make throws, measure out. In reality, all of it is a business decision for these players. Richardson’s measurements are incredible, so of course he would show them off for all to see. He put them on display for that reason. Young on the other hand is probably exhausted about his measurements being in the limelight. Why would he want to only reinforce and create more chatter about it.
  19. I think Reich was a huge part of us getting Wentz and Ballard supported his coach. Not sure we would have ever won with Reich, even with a better QB.
  20. I don’t think it’s you. I think Twitter is just down.
  21. Can someone link me to the Levis comments? I saw the piece that he was throwing in the combine because he’s got a “cannon” but I didn’t see the piece where he says putting touch on the ball doesn’t matter. I’ve actually seen Anthony Richardson has said similar things this week when being asked about touch. That it doesn’t matter and his WRs need to catch it.
  22. If we draft Anthony Richardson, I think the chance Matt Ryan stays one more year is significantly higher. If you want your young QB to learn from a vet, what vet are you going to bring in that makes more sense than Matt Ryan. One more rough year for Richardson to grow, hopefully exponentially. Who knows, maybe he comes in late in the season and balls out. Mahomes sat for a year, Rodgers multiple years, Brady multiple years. Maybe it's the way we go.
  23. Yep, if they loved one of the QBs go grab them. Next years first is meh to me. Unproven, unknown. The player we trade would dhave to be right. If it's Kenny, I'd do it all day. Buck, not so sure.
  24. Lol misnomer is definitely the wrong word. Basically, Ballard was saying that even the great teams that win still have weaknesses/gaps/lack of positional depth on their team. He was being questioned about depth if I recall. To me, many fans have a misconception that the teams that make these runs in the playoffs don’t have weaknesses or are significantly better than our roster. Sure the teams are built different than Indy and I think that’s what gets to some fans. They see a specific strategy working well for a few years and it becomes easy to assume you can’t win another way. I just don’t follow that line of thinking, I think there are a couple of different ways to make a run and I think Indy is down one of those paths. Strong defensive play with high turnovers, efficient spread offense with a featured run game.
