Maybe the Colts should pull a Boise st and make the whole field Colts blue or white!? Better yet, black and blue for the Indiana nights game!🤪

(ot:btw, sry if this has been talked about in another thread, but what happened to all the colts style emojis? All im getting when I click on the smiley face above are the regular iphone keyboard emojis!?)

I don't think they can.  According to an article back in 2011, NFL owners meeting they encacted a rule, based on the Boise St. field color.

      https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2011/3/22/2065924/nfl-owners-field-turf-green-boise-state

"At the NFL owners meetings on Tuesday it was announced that a new rule had been enacted that eliminates the possibility of blue turf.  NFL teams must have their field color approved by the league and it has to be a shade of green."

The receivers weren’t great, not trying to debate that.

But he didn’t help them his fair share as well. Granson definitely helped him out. That ball he caught at his ankles was a really good catch. It was hard and low and didn’t need to be.

I’m definitely excited about his potential. Strictly referring to his passing ability…does he have the widest gap from ceiling to floor ever? When it’s good…it’s really good. When it’s off…it’s way off.

His deep ball is absolutely beautiful and it’s refreshing to see a QB who can make those throws after the last few we had. If he gets his mechanics straightened out, watch out.

From what I saw, that low throw to Granson looked to be on purpose.  The defender was flying in could have either intercepted or batted away the pass.

Silly question : why is Hall of Famer before Ring of Honor? Isn’t the HoF a higher honor league wise?

    not criticizing just curious

I think since this is a Colts Forum, so Ring of Honor is more Colts related.  Just my guess.

  4. Congrats!  At first I was confused what the ring of honor was, and someone explained it in the thread, now I see it.  Im still practice squad lol, even though I joined this site in 2011.  Although, I read mostly and don't post much.  This site is where I get most of my Colts news.  At least I have bragging rights for the Elite Fantasy League 2 time champion.  Looking forward to a new season!

Difference is you are a lover with those love handles, and Raimann has to be a fighter. :)

You and Michael Jackson can sing along...I am a lover not a fighter.... haha

sad keanu reeves GIFKeanu Reeves said otherwise.  He said "If you're a lover, you have to be a fighter. Because if you don't fight for your love, what love do you have??"

For those who are watching, you are witnessing a massive switch - from the Old Plan to the New Plan.

What was the Old Plan?  The Old Plan started in 2018.  When we made a franchise-defining choice to draft a generational guard and big play off-ball linebacker.  And our oft injured start quarterback came back healthy, and played.  To that, we added a new, first-time head coach.  And we won games.  And went to the playoffs.  And won against the Chiefs!  With the quarterback's superman cape blowing in the breeze.  And we believed we were on our way to the superbowl.  And then....  Our star quarterback retired.  And we replaced him with an aged veteran with a history with our head coach.  And we went back to the playoffs.  And then that quarterback retired.  And then our left tackle retired.  And our tight end.  And we released our WR1.  And that became the theme of the Old Plan:  desperately trying to plug holes left by valuable players, while trying to get back to the playoffs.  Until last season, when that collapsed in an ingnomineous heap.

This year, we have initiated the New Plan.  The theme of the New Plan?

"Give the young players the experience they desperately need."

We hired a guy who had never been a head coach before, and gave him a 6-year contract.

We hired a guy who had never been an offensive line coach before, and gave him a chance.

We drafted a young quarterback with only 13 games played, and isn't even old enough to drink.

We released a veteran DE, who was the quintessential LEO for the defense, and instead we're going to start the guy we drafted in the first round to be our starting DE.  In fact, we're gonna start both DE's from that draft.

I expect we will start at least 3, and possibly even 4 of the rookies we drafted by the end of the season.  Slot receiver Downs and cornerback Brents are already as good as, or nearly as good as, the guy who occupies their positions.  And our quarterback?  How long is it before he'll be better than Ehlinger or Minshew?  I expect him to be starting before the end of the season.  Blake Freeland is a Tackle.  Not an interior lineman.  How long will it be before the Colts toy with the idea of starting him at right tackle, and moving Smith inside?  Even rookie nickel corner Darius Rush might get into the action.

I also expect us to start 2nd year player Nick Cross at strong safety.  He has the talent.  And can play.  His problem?  He needed experience.  Well, this is your lucky year, Nick.  Because that's the theme of the New Plan.

I don't expect us to win a lot of games.  Sure, we'll win some.  With the talent on this team, we cannot help but expect to win some.  But winning games is not the goal of this year.  Getting the young guys the experience they need is the theme of the year.

    Welcome to the New Plan.

Who was the first round DE from this year?  I thought we drafted the QB not the DE in the first round.

EDIT:  After re-reading it, from "that" draft, I forgot we drafted Kwitty Paye first round two years ago, my bad.

Through 3 seasons, in the short to mid-range game, Lucky was very consistent throwing late, high, and to the wrong shoulder, while using the only throwing angle (straight over the top) he had.

Compare him to the current top QB's and he would be a terrible example.

Now he was superb standing strong in the pocket  (Umpff- nice hit), but was actually great moving in the pocket and escaping pressure (this the only reason) he was a above .500 QB. Well okay, that and being 16-2 against Jaxs. Chuckle

Don't forget undefeated vs the Titans
