Had some lapses on defense particularly in that 1st half but I actually saw effort in that 2nd half. Defensively we lacked effort prior to tonight's game. I would still bring Young off the bench because if he isn't scoring he is just useless cause he don't rebound and play either Christmas or Seraphin for defensive purposes or at least play them 15 minutes a night for rebounding. Bring Young off the bench for a scoring punch. To be fair to Thad he really is much more a SF at 221lbs and more of a jump shooter

Thad has really played poorly in the last few games.  Loved Big Al last night.

Turner needs to try and take over...and PG needs to quit with the refs and play basketball.

He's taken a back seat because we have so many shooters. Offense isn't the problem. We cant guard the pick and roll or pick and pop game or rebound. I think what needs to happen is Young needs to come off the bench and move Turner over to PF and Jefferson needs to start because he is our best rebounder. Thad is not really a rebounder, He averages less that 6 a game for his career. Bring Thad in when we need an offensive boost

He isn't a defensive player period and offers no rim protection. He would add a much needed scoring punch off the bench and in theory Jefferson would clog the lane on defense and get rebounds. We would still have Turner as a rim protector to. Holding other teams to 1 shot and done is key. Right now we can score with anybody no matter if your name is Golden State or not

Turnovers is also a problem right now but I expect that to go down a little bit as players get to know each others tendencies on the court. We rank 17th in turnovers given away. 6th most turnovers forced however. Rebounds and getting back on defense is the real problem. With our running we would just have Al would stay back on the defensive side of the court to guard against any chance of fast breaks to the basket. He would go down the court on offense as needed or when we wanted to draw up a play for him

I could live with that buddy.  I could see Big Al as last man down for a sweet 15 footer too.

So you read the Tuesday Morning QB as well. I got a warning for using the Moo Cows on here a few years ago, someone complained. But I'm a good boy now.

No you aren't!!!  We need you to stay YOU!! :)

No no no  Whenever I think of 'fatherhood' in relation to Indiana...my mind goes to the old question - "Hoosier (who's your) daddy?

HAHA!  I think I would rather be a Hoosier than a Dingus..."  Just say'in.  :spit:

I am personally tired of hearing my friends say this just because he played at IU. He has shown nothing to prove he deserves an NBA roster spot. He is too short and does not have the skills to overcome his size in my opinion.

Yogi was a great leader for IU  He can dominate some of the CBA teams I have watched.  He deserves a chance 'somewhere.'

I have been one of his critics along the way.  He can run the break very well.

Anybody we get would be considered an extra draft pick. Yogi went undrafted. We just picked up Ben Bentil who actually was selected one pick after George Niang. He has a better shot to be someone than Yogi does.

Bentl can rebound, shoot well especially from corners and can run the floor.  That was a great pickup IMO.

Larry sees what he has seen with Robinson II.  Look at Providence clips from 2015/16 season.  The Big East tournament was a good showing for him.

Sometimes there's this thing call playing time that corrects issues.   Young player who I think has a lot of talent.  Just needs more time in there I believe.

    Totally agree.

As for blocking, AC has more whiffs than I have seen in a long time.  OK...back to TE. :)

Oh know I didn't take it that way. I was just explaining why I posted what I posted LOL. JR re-signed with the Cavs anyway so it's a moot point. I do love our team as constructed. Teague was a great addition and Turner I think will have a huge year.

After reading what I wrote, I kind of felt like a bum.  The ire for me was directed towards JR's antics through the years.

The Pacers have a far better chance at a championship than the Colts do.  The Pacers have a competent person in charge (Larry Bird), have lots of talent (the entire starting 5 has All-Star potential and Paul George has MVP potential).  The NBA season is really long, so I don't follow it as closely during the regular season; I view it as "play good enough to get into the playoffs, but don't go all out and try to win 65+ games each year".  Use the regular season as a stepping stone to make it to the playoffs, then go all out in the playoffs.

So don't get frustrated if the Pacers have a 3 game losing streak at some point during the regular season, or if the team isn't 10 games above .500.  But they have the talent to challenge the Cavs for 1st place in the East, could have the size to give Golden State some trouble, and are likely to be a top 3 team in the East this upcoming year.  The only question mark is the head coach.  Nate McMillan has some previous head coaching experience, but it's hard to know how things have changed for him since then.  Either way, there's a lot of excitement for the upcoming Pacers season.

My philosophy is that you give your best every night.  These days guy are only playing 22 minutes or so.  Of course more minutes when it call for it.  You go out there and beat people up every night.

This will indeed be an exciting team.  I personally would trade CJ Miles at this point and play Glen Robinson in his place.

Glenn Robinson looks good..he clearly has worked on his shot....

But its his defense against small forwards and big guards that's going to matter..

Mighty Joe Young looks improved....George Niang is suprisingly effective against subs

I love Al Jefferson but he's not a great fit with us....

I like him against certain teams..Havent seen CJ Miles yet at all..is he hurt  or just doenst want to waste himself on the pre-season

    Knee on CJ.  Precaution.

We have scored a lot of points with Jefferson in the lineup.

Agreed on Mighty Joe and Niang.

it was great for Robinson to guard Wade last night.

  11. Nobody wants to mention Al Jefferson leading a second unit each time out and making Stuckey look good?  Ellis is not playing well?  Damn guys you are very weak at analyzing if you do not give him positive remarks.

I would never want JR Smith on my team.  He is just a time bomb waiting to happen.  I am a great dad too, but I go back to being a **** in a moment's notice.  Just sayin' and I am not proud of it.

This team looks like a winner as is.  Let the boys play.  On nights Ellis does not play well or feel well, Start Glenn Robinson.  We have some fantastic interchangeable parts.
