Sorry, ruksak, wrong on this one. I checked the thread, and there was only one link that said he'd signed, and that was incorrect, as the link I posted was from the official Patriots webpage and said he had signed today, not three days ago as the other link said.
I try not to post old posts---sometimes I miss---but not here!
-
Joseph Addai has inked a deal with New England, but terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The link is below.

Well I will say this, there are still a lot of talented defensive players available. I'd have liked to have gotten a CB already because it is getting slim pikens in that department, but we can still get some good players for the defensive front 7. I'd love to get a few of these guys with our remaining picks:
Josh Chapman
Alameda Ta'amu
Nicolas Jean-Baptiste
Billy Wynn
Marcus Forston (wasn't he considered 1st round at one time?)
Kheeston Randall
Jaye Howard
Nigel Bradham
Keenan Robinson
Malik Jackson
Ronnell Lewis
Travis Lewis (did he put on weight? I thought he was closer to the 220 lb range but he's listed as 246 lb)
Darius Fleming
Jerry Franklin
James Michael-Robinson
There are quality players available, sure, but we have no picks in the 4th. Many of these may be gone. Time will tell, however.
-
Of course you're in the minority! Just kidding, of course.
Hey, none of us know what the future holds, right! You are dead right to be excited about your team and also to stand behind them. Others, like myself, see some areas that we feel could've been better addressed, or picks that were perhaps taken out of priority, but we are excited about the team, too. I hope that these picks pan out perfectly. And even if they don't, "Go Colts!"
Keep up the positive thoughts, Mr.Debonair. It's something we could all use a heavy dose of.
-
I guess, but there are some 5th round wide receiver in this draft that could become starters.
That's true as well. The WR depth this year was pretty good. I am concerned about finding defensive depth in the later rounds this year though. I doubt there will be much worth taking now.
-
There are a lot of starters that have been found in the 4th and 5th round... Do you want me to name you some?
True, Andy, but wesurehavesomeLuck is probably speaking in terms of percentage, in which case he is correct.
-
Do we still have this years 5th?
Yes.
-
I dont mind getting him but why trade up to get him?
Right. No need for the trade, in my opinion. No need for the pick, either, but that's a different ball of wax all together...
-
He and Fleener and Avery... speed kills!
Yes. But who?
-
We don't pick again until the top of the 5th. I have a feeling there will be no quality defensive players left at that time. This was not a good pick, in my opinion.
-
Looks like the colts traded up
Correct, with the 49ers.
-
Didn't see this anywhere else already, so I figured I'd post a link to the story. Sad to see him go, but he was getting older. He was a great player.
-
I think a line has to be drawn with this whole player safety thing. Yes, it's greatly important that we protect the players as much as possible. But let's get real, football will always be a violent sport by nature. If we're this concerned about injuries, why don't we make it two hand touch? Or guys running around in big foam cylinders? You can only do so much.
I needed that, Vance87... This was just great! If I wasn't on the Colts' board, I'd reward you by saying: "Go Texans!"
-
Peyton Manning has a running game again...Yoda's best NFL years in INDY revolved around EDGE & Addai...The Broncos are about to break out of their stable & make some serious noise this year.
I want Peyton to take 1 good hit early, jump back up, say I'm still here, "The Monkey's off my back now", let's go to work & dissect this secondary like the precision surgeon Yoda really is.
Be nice if that was an exultant chest bump with Coach Fox...
-
Didn't see this mentioned anywhere in this section, so I thought I'd share the link. It's been pretty quiet on the Manning front recently, so this should get things 'stirred up' again...
Just kidding, of course---I can't stir things up---I belong to a peace movement!!!

Do we need another one of these?
"Moderators, please merge if necessary," are the first 5 words of this topic.

Good article and nice find. Thanks for sharing.
And thank you for trying to bring a positive look at things back to the forum.

He never had happy feet. It's sad that so many people do not understand that concept. If you want to see happy feet watch Vick when he fails to read a defense and gets confused and bails on the play. That is happy feet.
Manning's chopping/pumping of the feet is a flawless technique that allows him to throw at any given second.
Agreed. A commentator who was just plain SAD came up with that phrase. No disrespect intended to the OP, by the way. Here is a good article on the 'happy feet'.
-
I'm talking about from a CMP %. Of course yards will go up with more attempts, will TD's, INt's, etc. 70% of 100 is 70 just as 70% of 200 is 140...
I meant the same, firejimcaldwell, I meant the numbers, but completion percentage wise... Sorry for the lack of clarity.
-
I'm saying a WCO/Run and Shoot/Spread offense will inflate a quarterbacks numbers as apposed to a pure pro-style offense or even a pure WCO as opposed to the Stanford Hybrid WCO.
The fact that Stanford had more rushing plays than passing plays is irrelevant because he still threw the ball quite a bit. It's not like he threw it 10 times a game.. He wasn't in a pass happy system like Keenum in Houston but he was still putting the pig in the air 30 times a game.
I agree that a college level WCO will inflate the numbers. But I do not agree that the pass-run ratio is irrelevant. Other teams have a more pass-happy offense, and because of this, can have numbers that are inflated in the passing game even more so than other teams. Yes, Luck was still throwing 30 times a game, but others were throwing even more.
-
I can't picture this actually coming to be.
Neither can Parcells, apparently...
-
By the way, firejimcaldwell and UndecidedFrog---it's good to see you both in ruksak's group! Glad to have you both...
