  1. It truely doesnt bother me as a fan what the talking heads say, if I were a coach I would be perfectly content with what the media is suggesting. For the first time in a while we dont have a definative bulls eye on us, for a change we may be under estimated by teams, its so much easier to win when no one expects you to have a chance. As long as our players dont buy into the media nonsense, which with our track record for winning I doubt they will. Then perception of our o-line doesnt matter. As long as qb has time and they can create creases for the rbs.

If I am picking something to worry about or that will hurt us, its our sp. Teams play, and our secondary holding up on those long grinding drives.

  2. I would just think that kind of proven experience and knowing he may ve losing a step would make him a little more apt not to gamble plus hes seen it all I think he would be an upgrade for depth at either safety position

  3. I have said it once and I will say it again, other than Bethea our secondary is rather unexperienced, and that is what this guy brings he is smart enough to compensate for his "knees" and would say on passing downs this guy can read QB's and plays better than most cordinaters. I would TAKE TAKE TAKE!

  4. Man... to think we call ourselves fans yet say,'you know we have a pretty tough schedule this year, I sure hope we can somehow muster enough courage to fight off the dawg pound from Cleveland when they show up...I think they will whoop our behinds!'???? What's up with that? I puked in my mouth while sarcastically writing this...wow

...and I think my IQ fell 20 points reading this, being honest has nothing to do with fandom!

Atleast IndyTrav knows where i'm coming from

  5. That 51 yarder in the playoff game, I still don't blame him for. Was terrible clock management.

I didnt think it was quite that far but...

I was more refering to every pressure kick he took after that, didnt he miss everything including jerry jones' ego (which is pretty hard) until he ended up back in the cfl... But for a while he was better than good just glad it was for us

  7. Out of remaining FA's, who would the fans like to see as a back up safety to Melvin or in rotation with him?

I think Bigby and Ndukwe are both still FA's, could bring Giordono back...

And out of remaining FA's who do we want to see picked up at corner?

I think Litto Sheppard and Kiwaun Ratliff are still FA's

Just Curious on thoughts for adding depth, at these spots

  8. What makes everyone so certian he couldnt play safety on 3rd and short or goal line situationally and be a special teams all star?

No one but he and the 49ers know the truth of his situation, he may very well be coachable with the right staff, if he does get cut and we can sogn him for minimum or if we can trade nothing for him, a team can never have too many impact sp. Teams players, and we alll know our kick coverage and return teams could use some help!

  9. I was at that game in the north west corner... Cant remember section but I think (or at least felt like I was) the first person to scream fumble because I saw the ball drop to his waist before he was hit... Had so pats fans yelling at me from behind about my 21 jersey and him not playing.... Make fun of my injured colt... I preceeded to verbally lash patriots fans all around throught the amazing comeback...

    Loved every minute of it!

  10. He'd make a great special teams cover guy, and he's not bad as a backup safety. But the knock on him coming out of USC was that he's not good in coverage. He slipped into the second round despite being a ferocious hitter and a great athlete, maybe the best in the draft. Pete Carroll didn't want him at #6, and he wasn't worth that high a pick. I think name recognition had him projected in the first round, but he's not a complete safety at this point.

Playing safety in a Cover 2 would be good for him, as long as he's not asked to play hook zone coverage and is primarily playing deep. He's fast, he's big, he's athletic, he just can't turn and run with receivers in man coverage. Coach 'em up, and he could be a really good player.

Doesn't surprise me that Harbaugh doesn't want him. He's allergic to all things SC.

    +1 agreed
