Pats won't go after Stafford. If Pats go after a FA it will be Dalton and they will draft a QB in the first. Dalton could bridge gap for two years while their rookie develops or if Jimmy G becomes available Pats could go that route, but it won't be Stafford. Stafford is going to want a 4-5 year deal. That's the key here. Stafford won't agree to play out the remaining two, he will want restructure. Pats won't do that

He doesn't have a choice.    I'm sure his new team will give him an extention,  but the new team doesn't have to grant it

That's why they won't trade him there.  In conference?  What if he wins a SB there?  The Lions fans and ownership will never live it down.

You just said the owner wouldn't send him to a bad situation,  then turn around and say they won't trade him to a good situation.     Is it about a good landing spot for Stafford or what's best for the team?   It can't be both

I have read where she is very close to him.  It happens when you are the owner and know someone and his family for 12 years and he's the face of your franchise.  I don't think she will let her new people do him a wrong just to squeeze out another pick. I don't think he will go anywhere unless he agrees to go there.  I would bet that is what the two sides greed too.

She is 95 years old.   I'm sure her last worry is where Stafford is going to be playing.   She doesn't have any day to day dealings with the team anymore either.

I will say as much as we love Ballard to not prepare for the QB and LT last season was pretty bad. He had a LT who was thinking about retirement and a 39 year old QB. How were neither of those positions better planned for in 2020.

I'm guessing the global pandemic may have played a role.   Just a hunch

It's based on him being a FIRST ROUND pick. Just like Haskins. A first round pick evaluation fair or not.  Whether he pans out or not who knows, but as of now he has not shown well based on his draft selection placement

He hasn't played yet.    Also,   Google search turned up nothing about him being bad in practice in green Bay.   I think your blind dislike for him has altered your reality

In regards to Love? The GB media, Rotoworld, and PFT. Love has not progressed anywhere near what would've been expected from a round 1 selection QB, albeit late round one. This info was relayed like halfway through the season prompting most to assume it was going to be years until he got to a point to succeed Rodgers if at all. Love is and has always been a project. As a matter of fact, rotoworld made a point of stating something to the effect that Love was terrible and highly over rated when the blurb was posted of the inactive players recently in the GB divisional rounds. Hell just two weeks ago on moving the chains Pat Kirwan brought up that Love has not been what was expected and might have been a bunk pick when him and Miller were discussing and or reflecting that Rodgers didn't have wide out help and how GB was in position now without that added help etc. Seriously, common knowledge that so far Love sucks

I can't find anything saying he "sucks". Perhaps you can provide a link.

Meh i would listen to Gus Johnson any day before Romo he's just more lively

Gus Johnson is a play by play guy.   Romo is color commentator.   They don't have the same job.    Both are very good at what they do,  but they do different things

One of the choices in the poll is trading 3 first round picks and more for Watson. That is more than what it would take to move up for Fields. There is also a choice in the poll to trade 2 first round picks for Wilson. That is about what it would take for Fields. Given those two options in the poll, why is Fields not an option?

I wouldn't trade that much for Fields.   Lawrence yes.
