  1. I have and not as much disappeared as I had hoped. When you block a super high volume poster, you still see them constantly when everyone quotes them in their posts.
  2. This is an extremely deep WR class. So need and talent overlap perfectly in this case. If they come into the season with the same WR core plus some day 3 picks, I think they are failing to give Richardson the best chance to succeed this year.
  3. I don't see it. Ballard said in the end of season press conference the team needed more explosiveness on offense, and considering they never were going to add any explosive elements in FA, that will have to be in the draft. If you take him at his word that they really do need to add those type of playmakers on offense, I don't think he can possibly sell anyone that it was adequately addressed using all day 3 picks. There will have to be a WR/Bowers added somewhere on Day 1 or 2.
  4. No, wasn't talking about any players specifically. Just that I'd rather have an elite kicker than an elite RB. Moss is probably right at average, which I am very satisfied with. Would much rather have him making next to nothing than JT making $8m.
  5. Very true, they are different roles, but its debatable which is actually more important. In this day in age, give me an elite kicker/below average running back pairing over an elite running back/below average kicker pairing.
  6. The one grab he had was great, but the contested catch he didn't make at the end of regulation that would have put the ball inside the 5 was not. Definitely not an easy catch, but you need a WR2 to make that catch with the game on the line. So far he has not shown the ability to make a tough catch when the defender makes a play on the ball.
  7. So many people here, and elsewhere online, were freaking out about Gay missing a short field goal in the preseason. Thought that was laughable then, and even moreso now. A lot of folks like to make fun of kickers and punters, which never makes any sense to me, because they make more of a direct impact on whether a team wins and loses than many other positions on the team.
  8. Yup, took him with the 5th round pick in that trade (Mike Peterson was taken with the 2nd rounder from the trade).
  9. I liked Herron, he was a fun little player and had a great game in the playoff victory against the Bengals. 10 carries for 56 yds and a TD plus 10 receptions for 85 yds and another TD. Someone a bit more obscure, but I liked Brad Scioli who had a really nice year in 2002. He started 13 games and had 7 sacks at DT, which was really great production for interior lineman.
  10. Ok, then how about throwing Pittman a little extra money this year? It's beyond silly to suggest just giving a player more money because he is upset he isn't getting an extension. What a horrible precedent it would create.
  11. Grover Stewart is a good player, he also will be a free agent next year, why not give him some extra cash this year as well?
  12. What does giving Taylor extra money for this season just because he is unhappy say to the locker room?
  13. How many other players are you going to just give extra money to without an extension? Because I'd love to hear them explain to the locker room why he is getting more money for no apparent reason other than to make him feel better.
  14. The look on Ballard's face when asked about why its been so long after the surgery and he still isn't ready to play "He still has pain in his ankle" 🤣 I think those that said they are planning to use the 4 PUP weeks to try to repair the relationship are right, while still leaving options open on what to do with the PUP and tolling the contract by maintaining he still has pain in the ankle.
  15. I absolutely think a RB's pass blocking skills are a factor in if you want to extend a RB. When you can't pick up the blitz, it limits your ability to have them on the field on third down. Taylor is a below average receiving RB, not sure why everyone wants to make it seem like it is anything other than that. He has below average hands and has an extremely limited route tree as a receiver. If you can get him the ball on a swing pass in space and allow him to build up speed he can make big gains, but he is nothing more than a C- as a receiver. If I am paying a RB, I want him to be able to do more than what he is able to do. Taylor is elite in a traditional "take the handoff from the QB" sense, but in all the other ways you can separate yourself in modern football he is below average.
  16. I mean he is not good in pass protection and not a natural receiver. I've seen a lot of pushback here on his receiving...he is fine running screens or short dump offs, but he is isn't running WR routes like a McCaffrey. If I am paying a back, he needs to be like Edge. Great running the ball, elite pass protector and very natural receiving skills. And even when we had Edge, the Colts didn't pay him.
  17. Well it clearly happened, was just responding to the poster who says that hold outs like this happen all the time. Holdouts like this particular one, do not happen all the time. As for the contract portion, I don't want to give him any new contract. Prior to this hold in, I didnt want to extend him. I would have just franchised him after this year and then moved on. I would not give any RB a big contract, and certainly would not give one to an incomplete back like JT.
  18. They waived Isaiah McKenzie? Down to just 3 WRs now lol https://twitter.com/Colts/status/1696951920944873583
  19. Chris Johnson signed his first contract before the new rookie wage scale (came in 2012), but good call on Zeke. But unless there others, that would be only one holdout while on their rookie rookie contract in the 11 offseasons since the rookie wage scale came into place. There definitely may be others, but the point stands that it isn't exactly common for a player to hold out while still on the rookie contract, it usually doesn't come until after their first contract.
  20. When was the last time a player held out while still on their rookie contract? Serious question because I can't remember one in the last ten years? Since the rookie wage scale came in, usually the earliest you get a hold out is right after their rookie deal is over and they had the franchise tag placed on them (like Barkley/Jacobs this year)
  21. Thank you! Its been driving me crazy seeing people equating the Barkley/Jacobs situations with Taylor. Barkley and Jacobs finished their rookie contracts, were given the tag and were unsigned. The teams and the RBs negotiated the little bumps on 1 year deals to get them into camp. Taylor has not finished his rookie contract, he shouldn't be given a single penny more for this season. I am usually all for the players doing what they need to do to get paid since they have such a short shelf life, but not before you finish your rookie deal. That is the bare minimum all players have to do, finish your rookie contract and then do what you need to do.
  22. AR looked a lot better in the first quarter when they were running a lot more RPOs, which is what I expect our offense to look like the majority of this year. He had the string of imcompletions (and drops/fall downs) when they went pure dropback. He is clearly going to need to improve at the dropback game, but outside of hurry up situations, I don't expect them to run it a ton this season.
  23. Pierce really unimpressive in these preseason games, hoping that doesn't carry over to the regular season because I am expecting him to take a big jump forward.
  24. Assuming AR is done at this point, the passing stats (6/14) don't look nearly as good as I thought he played. I feel pretty good about him going into the regular season.
