  1. I've been a Colts fan since 1957!!  I was born and raised in South Dakota, and in my small home town we could only get 1 tv station.  That station carried the Bears, and I got so tired of hearing Red Grange brag about the Bears I was going crazy.  Then I saw this young qb, John Unitas, who I thought was incredible even then.  I loved the uni colors, the uni look, and of course the 'shoe'.  Never got hooked on a city, but totally hooked on the Colts....  Damn, I'm almost to middle age!!

  2. Not necessarily. If he had made that missed kick to put the score at 17-12 as IndyTrav said, then that would have been a boost to the Colts morale knowing a TD would have put them ahead of the Ravens. Therefore, they would have played better. For our team of rookies, being behind by more than one possession is demoralizing, which may be one reason they fell off late.

Uh, nice try, but football doesn't progress along a linear line.  You have no way of knowing if they would have played better, and just an aside, they were behind more than  one possession other times during the season and still won.  Good effort tho...

  3. They were missing Dwayne Bowe today. If they had him plus the 2 million yards Charles had today this would be a different forum topic we'd be talking about.

Luckily we weren't missing anyone, it's always good to have a full roster when the other team has someone not playing..  Please...

  4. We are 4 games into the season, Luck has beaten the Vikings, their only loss, beaten the Packers, considered one of the best teams in the NFL, gave the team the lead against the Jags in the last minute of the game, and yet there is the need to complain about his completion percentage? Good Lord, talk about ticky tack!! I'll take wins over completion percentage any day of the week. I find this topic hard to take seriously. ( Shakes head in disbelief )

  5. The players that do make the final 53, and are basically 50 - 53 on the list, better not get too comfortable, 'cuz I think we'll be picking up some new players off the waiver wire. The thing I really like about Grigson, is, he's not afraid to pull the trigger if he thinks a better player is available. And I think there will be a few better players available late tomorrow. Can't wait to see who it might be..

  6. but we can't be making these comments after 1 preseason game. teams are running basic defenses and not showing anything they would bring in the regular season game. and it is just one game. you always see a player that could have one fantastic game.(such as david tyree) but be terrible in other games. do not make these comments until the bye week of the regular season.

    1) Huh, you're saying we can't be making these comments after 1 preseason game??

    2) What exactly does David Tyree have to do with people wanting to be happy with what they saw, one game or not?

    3) I'll make any comments I want as often as I want, before or after the bye week.

Just a heads up, don't read my posts as few as they may be, 'cuz I know they won't meet your criteria of Colts fan comments. Just sayin'......

  7. I think this draft effort was one of the best I've seen in years. I have no issues with who or when they were selected. There may have been a pick or two that didn't ring quite right initially, but after I did some additional reviewing of them, I'm good to go. All the woulda, coulda shoulda's in the world are nonfactors now. I'm going to let it play out and see how it ends... Grigs totally impressed me..

  8. Question for you guys....When we drafted Peyton, on draft day they already had the #18 jersey ready when they called his name.

Is this because he signed a contract before the draft?

Nope he wasn't signed, 'cause he held out for a day or two when camp opened..

  9. This was my favorite comment from PFT:

"From what I saw of his pro-day he sure did seem to lock in on one receiver and stare them down a lot."

    I assume he's kidding...

Don't know what PFT expected, he was throwing to one receiver as they went through a scriped passing session? I don't take a lot of what PFT says real serious, always trying to come up with something to chew on. The kid's a stud, he'll be an oustanding NFL quarterback for the Colts, end of story....

  10. This doesn't bother me at all. We could always count on him to drop an easy pass in critical situations. I'll never forget that drop in the Super Bowl!! He better use his money the right way, 'cuz I have a feeling this will be his last big payday. Also heard he wasn't the easiest person to coach or work with. Glad he's gone..

  11. I’ve been a Colt’s fan since 1957, I’ve see some incredible players leave the Colts, And now another one.

I’ve had time to wrestle with the emotional side of this Colts goings and I asked myself 2 questions. 1) Would I like Peyton to win another Super Bowl or two? Yes I would. And, 2) Do I believe that the current Colts roster will be a viable option for that to happen? Nope.

For this fan, PM has been the best thing to happen to this franchise in decades, sadly that time has passed. Now I to look to the next exciting Colts era that should begin with these words, ‘With the first selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select Andrew Luck, Quarterback, Stanford.

Thanks for bringing the ‘Shoe back to football respectability Peyton.
