My comment about being a Ballard-hater is entirely about him as a GM , and has nothing to do with him as a person.   The fact that you don’t even know this after 7 years says everything.

Im not telling you to like Ballard….  You can dislike him all you want.   But your arguments are predictable no matter what Ballard does.  He’s almost always wrong.

There are many ways I could answer the specifics of your post, but it wouldn’t get us anywhere.  You’re not changing your view and that’s fine.   Plus, it’s the Holiday season so I’ll turn the other cheek and again wish you a Happy Holiday season.

Hopefully the stretch run of the season makes Colts Nation happy, including you.

ballards record with the colts speaks for me. If he was a winner and could turn a team around in 2 years like nick caserio did the texans I would be all for him. I agree with old fan man, ballard has the colts stuck in average and below heading nowhere. Imo we wont have a winner until he is gone. He was a rookie gm learning on the job but he was stuck in his draft building method and had far too many misses in the draft at key positions. you ballard supporters should be able to see that. bottom line he is not good at his job.

lol. Normally I don't bash a depth signing, but we lost isaiah rodgers due to gambling and have 3 rookie CBs outside of Kenny Moore, and we sign him as depth? You could have literally signed Marcus Peters a couple days ago before he went to the Raiders.

Generally I don't mind a depth signing, but this isn't the time to go cheap after what happened with Rodgers. We need a reliable veteran that can teach the young kids.

ballard always goes cheap, one of the reasons that the colts are competing for last place

You're on the record about not liking our roster composition or cap allocation, but I don't think we've been throwing money at players. Truth is, we haven't drafted very well in a long time. We don't have back to back great draft classes that really addressed the biggest positions in today's game. We've generally kept our best players, and that goes back to Polian. I haven't liked every contract -- the JB deal was really bad -- but I don't think we've been wasteful. I think we need to draft better, especially at WR and Edge.

But to answer your question, wouldn't Kenny Moore qualify? Irsay didn't make any noise with that, Twitter or otherwise.

I agree we need to draft better since the draft is ballards main method of roster building

We've only won one playoff game in like the past 6 years or something crazy.

And it was against the Texans...

Just had that thought pop into my mind, and wanted to come on the board and vent about it. Ready for us to do something exciting. Hopefully, Richardson and Minshew provide a spark this year.

we wont beat the texans this season, they drafted the best qb and pass rusher in the draft.

Easily my biggest concern and it’s not close.

what concerns me is not AR.  He may or may not be good.  But that’s no different than any other team.  With few notable exceptions, drafting QBs with any pick is a crap shoot even high 1st rounders.

my concern is CB’s seeming tendency to over value his own draftees and Rockin Jimmy’s meddling.

I hope AR is good he very well could develop that way.  I have no idea of what any QB will do in The League let alone this young inexperienced kid whose CFB team had no success.  The potential stardom is clear from a raw talent standpoint.

But if not, I have little faith in management moving on when it’s appropriate.

We will be bad this year in all likelihood.  If AR isn’t legit, we will be really bad for the next 3 or so seasons.  We should have high picks if that’s the case though.  I’d much rather be bad for a few years and have a chance to draft impact talent with high picks than be a 6-9 win team like we have for most of a decade.

    delayed gratification !!!!

Offensive Line - because they played so badly last year, can they rebound

Defensive Backs - because they're going to be relying on untried rookies from the start

Wide Receivers - because we don't know if our two 2nd-round starters are going to take the next step

Defensive Line - can they generate pressure and get sacks without Ngakue?

Running Backs - was 2021 a fluke?  or a repeatable goal?

Linebackers - will Leonard ever play up to his standards again?  ok, will Leonard ever play again at all?

Tight Ends - can we find an in-line blocker in the bunch?

Quarterbacks - Who is better?  The untried rookie with 13 games, or the veteran sparkplug backup?

Hmmm....  I seem to have mentioned EVERY POSITION GROUP except Kicker.

i agree the whole team is a big if including the rookie head coach

Now that Hopkins was cut by Arizona.  Should we be a player for him?  I know he wants to go to a winner.  But could you imagine him with our core?  How much would that help

    Richardson?

go all out to get him

  8. according to cbs sports john breech the colts have the fourth softest schedule in the nfl. that said we may still get the number one pick next draft. as we have a serious lack of gamechangers and a lot of ifs and unproven cheap talent. will we take a qb if we land the number one?

Colts filled some holes during the draft, but some positions still need work.

RG - I said it in another thread we're most likely signing a vet G after not drafting one. Some Gs still on the market are Gabe Jackson and Trai Turner.

LB - This mostly depends on Shaq, but LBer is thin in terms of playing time after Franklin and Speed. Jojo was good on STs, but depth is lacking.

CB - Yes they drafted three, but we're putting a lot of pressure on Brents and two day three corners to produce especially with Kenny and Rodgers going into their contract years.

LT - It seems Raimann is the LT going forward which is fine, but there's very little proven depth behind him. Currently the only Ts on the roster for depth are O'Donnell and Jordan Murray.

I agree with all and we still need some game changers on defense, pass rushers, and secondary. on offense we need all you mentioned plus game changers at wr and tight end.

Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen are ROCKING THIS DRAFT!!

Filling positions of need - and - accumulating piles of draft capital for depth!!

Just remember folks - NO ONE IS PERFECT - and - YOU'RE NEVER GONNA AGREE WITH EVERYTHING CHRIS BALLARD DOES - but - HE IS DOING THE BEST HE CAN - JUST LIKE THE REST OF US!!

If y'all don't want to be criticized for your mistakes - then don't be so quick to criticize others - even highly paid others!!

i agree he does the best he can, just has too many first and second round misses, could be the reason he trades back for lower round picks. fans dont expect as much from round 3 on down
