Question for Colts fans: Would you have preferred Taylor Decker over Ryan Kelly? (Note: Decker was taken first and the Colts did not have a chance at getting him.) I'm just wondering because before the draft, many did not want the Colts to draft Decker. Kelly was a very popular draft pick.

That was my first year really getting into the draft. Living overseas I wasn't exposed to CFB and the draft process until the internet coverage improved. I was a big fan of the Kelly pick but don't remember Decker during the draft process at all. We wouldn't have needed him really though as we had AC.

  2. I would love to sign Isaiah McKenzie. Very surprised he was released but they must like Khalil Shakir a bunch.

I still don't understand paying Dulin 9.5m for 2 years and not paying Campbell what he got. Maybe he just wanted out.

    Other FA that interest me:

    Shaquill Griffin

    Rock

    Risner

    DJ Chark

    Frank Clark

We can't assume that we will fill all starter spots in the draft. We need a few more FA. This is the period of FA where Ballard shines.

I remember he didn't play last year, no one signed him. Lot of people drafted him in the last round of the bestball leagues I did, and he never played an NFL game. Even someone I know who plays high stakes bestballs drafted him a lot and got burned. Was very surprised he remained unsigned all season last year and still remains unsigned to this day.

I've always been a fan. Speed and size.

I’ll take a guess as to the possible (probable?) issue with Isaac Seumalo, this is what I think the holdup is….

The guy has played 6 seasons, and in those seasons, here are his rough snap breakdowns from PFF..,

    — 2 seasons of 1100+ snaps

    — 2 seasons of 500-600 snaps

    — 2 seasons of 100-300 snaps.

So he has played only 2 full seasons out of 6.   And 2 half seasons due to injury.  And 2 fractional seasons due to injury.   2 out of 6 good seasons. And he likely wants 10m+ per year.

That may be why we’re wrapping up Day 4 and a guy viewed as the top guard is still out there — unsigned.

    Just food for thought….

    Far too much sense!

Thanks. It seems that he turned down a lot of money. Teams have to put their foot down. There is just so much they can give. If they give more, it hurts other teammates.

They also have to escrow every cent of GTD money the day the contract is signed. So if the owners don't have surplus Cash, its hard to do.
E.G. Irsay is rich, but not cash rich so handing out a biiiiiiig contract with gtd money would be tough.

He turned down 3 years 133mil fully guaranteed. He said it himself.

Probably wants 5 years 250mil guaranteed. Security.

He should be saying they should just take who is there out of four. He should be pounding the table after what he has said last few years.

    Yes, thats true.

We should just take QB at 4 (whoever they like best out of who is left) and Hooker at 35. Balls to the wall.

What is holding him back from re-signing with the Ravens? Is it just money? It seems perfect for him.

Guaranteed money. Watson set the standard for big contracts and Jackson wants to be next in line.
I THINK I remember hearing that they offered an acceptable contract, but he wanted it fully guaranteed and they weren't willing or couldn't afford to do that.

Oh now Kevin wants colts to not take a QB at 4 and take Anderson. Same guy who said colts just need to take a Chance at QB. I can’t wait until draft is over.

I guess we have different interpretations of what he is saying.
I heard 'IF' the Colts choose not to take a QB at 4. and 'IF' the QB they don't like is the only one available at 4.
I listened to his podcast this morning and he was saying we need to move up to 3 if we want to have a chance at getting a QB we like. He is still very pro Draft a QB.

Kevin Bowen and JMV still crapping on colts. They need to stop and breathe. We are in a transition phase. We weren’t going to go all out before we even have a QB to build around. Local media had been insufferable.

What has KB been saying? I dont have the ability to listen to JMV but KB's podcast is generally quite level headed.
