You know Belichek will sell out against the run and force Minshew to beat them.

53 with the big whiiiifffff
Its crazy how one play makes a hug difference. He makes that play, they are looking at a 3rd and long…defense probably gets off the field.
Instead, it’s a 20+ yard play and they are rolling

Patriots are apparently the only team who hasn’t scored a TD this season on their opening drive…that streak looks like it’s going to end soon.

Leonard needed to make that play

It's super basic. And what's worse? They did the same exact plays last night against the Bears: send the receivers down in a line, have them stop and turn around... Booooorrrrrriiiiiinnnnnnggggggggg.
Nobody is scared of that offense.
Not defending Reich because the QB school video is pretty damning, but one has to wonder how much of those route concepts are due to the Panthers not having dudes who can win with speed, change of direction, etc.I will say that video does illustrate why the all 22 is so crucial when evaluating QB play especially because it does give context as to why Young looked so bad last week even outside of the INTs to Moore.

It all changed when the Panthers adjusted to stuffing the run and said we dare you to beat us throwing. The Colts simply just can’t do it.
Other teams will use this plan as well going forward and their QBs are probably not going to throw 2 pick 6s so a lot to work on/figure out on Steichen’s part

Hasn’t turned the ball over
Very true and that’s about the only positive from his play. Fortunately, it’s a very important component of winning games in the NFL.

Minshew has not been good today at all. That’s at least the 2nd time today he has not even given the receiver who was open a chance on a 3rd down throw

Colts MVP today and Gus Bradley’s best friend Bryce Young?

All game you play not to get beat deep and then you get beat deep…
Exactly, I don’t get it

How the heck was he that open????

Wish we had a couple of guys who would get open quickly for Minshew
If the Panthers ram some of Bradley’s coverage schemes, that 5-7 yard out would be open every time -
Big series for defense here..3 and out could set us up with good field position

Hey Gus you can’t get beat deep inside the five yard line…
That was an odd coverage on a goal line situation…Way too soft

Gus needs to adjust and bring more pressure. Dare Young to beat you

Minshew is so bad.
As long as he takes care of the ball, I’m good with it in this game.

To be fair, Young has one of the worst OL and WR corps I've seen in a minute. That trade up by the Panthers seemed like an awful move considering their roster is really bad overall.
Good point…that obviously can affect how good a QB (especially a rookie) can look

I actually feel bad for CBS having to air this game. Opposite philly Dallas
all of the viewers are on this thread
Makes you wonder why it was scheduled for a 4 pm start. -
Hate to pile on the guy, but Young looks the worst of any Bama QB that’s come in the last few years.
He looks rattled back there. Reading defenses and working through progressions were supposed to be his strong suits.
Moores pick 6 sealed it…as long as we run the ball and have no TOS, I don’t see how Panthers come back into this game

First time I’m seeing Young play extensively…he looks by far the worst of the top 4 QBs taken.
Wonder what Carolina FO saw to take him over Stroud and there be such a wide gap in their play so far.

I don’t get the QB sneak from the 2. That’s weird. Taylor second down call is fine. Bad, bad penalty on third. Third down play, Minshew falls all over himself. This team just can’t help themselves sometimes.
Yeah, I didn’t understand the purpose of the 1st down call there. It was essentially a waste of a play considering they were more than a yard out and basically did nothing formation wise to disguise the intention to QB sneak
-
Panthers look like a real sloppy, undisciplined group so far.
If the Colts don’t make a bunch of mistakes, keep ball in Taylor and Moss’s hands, they should be able to win this going away.

So do I. And that's the problem here. That he was clearly a guy who would need to run to move the chains year one. He's a high end development project so personally I am very unhappy with the Colts for putting him out there early on and risking his future. They should have started the season with him on the bench and made him earn his way by mastering the offense while he works on mechanics and accuracy.
Good post and basically summarizes my frustration with how AR was used this year and him getting hurt.I didn’t necessarily have a problem with him starting. However, it seems to me, as a fan, there was not a properly thought out plan on how to use his playing time this year to properly advance his development.
For instance, It’s a little disappointed that more caution was not used with putting him in read option situations considering the injuries that occurred with those plays in the games he did play

I thought that and mentioned it earlier but he failed so miserably in each place. He did not even complete 2 full seasons with the Raiders. I think Kraft or anyone else would be making a mistake. He has never had success as head coach.
I agree…I think he is done getting head coaching opportunities.

Steichen doing a good job of getting Taylor touches and O-line doing a great job of getting push at the point of attack.
