  1. An additional note Richard Sherman was a ZONE CB that was one of the best ever. He was feared in the league. He was a FIFTH round draft pick He was 6' 3" with long arms, and you would expect him to run a 4.3 forty..... right ?????? NOPE..... he logged a 4.56 40 time. ZONE CB play does NOT need to be 4'3 40 Who knows what the Colts will do...... I dont But I think we keep thinking that we need a 1st round pick on a man to man CB A man to man CB (Unless we are going to start playing hybrid defenses) Is completely wasted in this defense
  2. Not that it matters but I see a need for DE, WR, FS, CB In round 1 In the draft we could go Thomas WR or AD Mitchell in round 1 Both are EXACTLY what this team needs for dynamic WRs In round 2, Jonah Elliss MIGHT be the answer at DE. He was playing with a severe shoulder injury the last 4 games, and still notched a great sack and pressure total In round 3 There are several REALLY GOOD zone CBs that can fill the need Khyree Jackson (We may have to trade into late round 2 to get him) TJ Tampa (We may have to trade into round 2 to get him) I was hoping that we went FA for DE to add to the room, but not so much A vet FS would be a beautiful thing
  3. I 100% agree to not take a developmental QB with early picks But 5th or 6th? Maybe
  4. I may be looking at this wrong, but I always would like a QB3 with a growth path Someone like Milton has all the tools to be successful, but if gets a little better in the next 2-3 years, he may (Heaven forbid) if AR fails (Possible) he could be the guy. Or...... He will get some time on the field the next two years, and people notice, and we get 3rd round draft offers (or better) for him. Either way, in a QB starved league, having a developed talent can serve the team in many ways If after 2 years, the team is still not thinking that Sam is ready to be even a back up...... maybe time to move on
  5. I understand what you are saying but the coaches see Sam in preseason and can make better judgements on him than the fans This is year 3 and if he was getting better, they probably wouldn’t have paid that much for Flacco
  6. I would love to have Simmons older but plays at a very high level This team needs the vet FS that can mentor the room Simmons is a rah rah guy as well
  7. Not that it matters, but I am in the camp of getting a difference maker at DE This team has been at the bottom in points allowed This defense as zone requires a heavy amount of pressure to be successful The Texans had their way with us, and were down 2 WRs for the game Is some of that on the DBs? Of course… We could have All Pros across the backfield and if the QB has zero pressure, someone, even a scrub WR will get open…… We didn’t land a DE so far, so we may have to go rounds 1 or 2 to get another candidate to put consistent pressure on the QB
  8. They look like the same person....... Joe Milton will need much work, but he could be our 3rd string this year and 2nd next year........ He can run almost the same offense that AR runs That time MIGHT make him a viable trade candidate later
  9. I could see the benefit, but its very tough for a former starter to come in and play behind a player that is not yet as good as Fields is..... IMHO it would be too tough on both of them Fields will be starting somewhere
  10. I cant remember the last time I gave anyone, before today a confused or sad face....... I do give the laugh emoji Life is too short. Some people come on here and are struggling with something, (Maybe cancer or a loss in the family) and this board might be their only outlet....... I would hate to be rough on someone that is going thru something at any point. I cant tell the hurt that they might have. Better to be positive...
  11. And also the reason I responded as well I have always thought that a BETTER response verse a emoji, is a simple dialog...... "I don't really agree with that because............." THATS dialog between Colts fans I personally dont care if someone disagrees with me...... I dont know everything....... Help me to understand your point Use of an EMOJI to try to make you or anyone else look stupid is weak and pathetic........ Just state your case in a professional manner....... I will listen!
  12. I agree. 1000% Sam is 2 years a 3rd string QB. His odds of being a starter…. Ever ……are not good at all I would rather have a rookie QB like Joe Milton in round 5 who has many tendencies like AR AND has the tools to be a backup to AR next year Not sure why that’s confusing or sad to you NewColtsFan
  13. Agreed. We need a 2nd string QB and it’s NOT Sam E Id like a vet QB for QB2 I’d like a rookie for QB3
  14. I do want to move on from Sam E This team needs a late round rookie to be 3rd qb
  15. He is perfect for the Colts and can run the same offense that AR runs
  16. Eight Years THIS is the year that Ballard will get THAT FA...... 7 years.......... SAME SAME Why do I think he will actually do more than build the bottom of the roster with FA?
  17. Nah...... Thanks for sharing.... I like it Im a bit nervous at pick 1 because the guy did not really produce in College I would like him better in the 2nd round Addresses needs at WR Addresses needs at FS (Hopefully) Addresses needs at DE (Hopefully)
  18. Fuller would be a perfect fit here as he is a zone CB CB in FA would be my third choice after FS and DE My fear is that getting Ballard to take a FA chance on DE, FS, AND CB Might be too much to ask......
  19. If you look at Ballard’s history, he has never gone for the big FA I may be in a minority here but if we don’t improve year over year, there is a decent chance that Ballard gets fired. If we are near last in defense again our DC will probably be fired. If I am CB, I am using FA a bit more than normal this year……. (Maybe a lot more) If I am our DC, I am standing on the table for some defensive playmakers that can make THIS defense work IMHO, that means a stud pass rushing DL and a playmaking FS An awesome press CB would be wasted in THIS defense. Because…… we play boring ZONE…. Which works if you have a pass rush. We can add some of these big Zone CBs in round 2-3 On offense, if everyone is healthy we only need a dynamic WR, where at 15, (or later) we will have some WRs to choose from Asking a rookie to be a star, year 1 at DE and FS is a risk….. that’s why IMHO we should tap the FA market for these two roles. Rookie WRs can make a difference year 1
  20. Is he big enough to play 1 tech? If so, I’d would grab Wilkins, but I think he plays 3 and 5 tech today
