  1. From my perspective Ballard has some "hard" rules to building a roster 1) Build the lines FIRST 2) Resign own FAs 3) Draft talent / dont pay for someone elses top FA 4) Build depth (bottom of the roster) through FA (some draft)
  2. Kool aid may slide to second round I need to research the second guy I like Cam Hart Cooper Dejean Khyree Jackson TJ Tampa Are all CBs that could play our zone defense If we go CB in round 1 I hope it Cooper DeJean (After a trade back)
  3. Thanks for sharing draft, these are always fun to read Nate Wiggins would be a great press CB This defense in almost all cases doesnt play a press defense from their CBs In our press defense, the CB HAS to be able to play the run as well as the pass zone Wiggins came in at 173 lbs, thats at 6' 1" He will give up 30-45 lbs to running backs and TEs..... that sounds like an injury waiting to happen I dont think our defense fits Nate, though he is a blazer The spec is off a CB that is 6'1" with long arms, and weighs 200 to 210, runs a 4.5 40 can be excellent in this defense These TYPES of CBs can be had in round 2-4
  4. Respectfully. Paye has improved every year My hope is that he takes the next step this year Remember….. he is still on a rookie contract, if he takes a step back this year, then I would consider not offering the fifth year option
  5. great point I get Ross vibes who killed the combine with speed but let the Bengals team down on the field
  6. I don’t think we take Worthy In this offense the offense needs the WR to block a bit He is thin as a rail that will have issues pushing anyone The drops were 10% in 2022 and 6% in 2023 so doing better I would MUCH rather have the OTHER Texas WR AD Mitchell
  7. I don’t really know what Ballard thinks as I am usually wrong He has stated belief that he needs to build the lines first Verse should be a consideration as he has many pass rush moves He is poor against the run, which makes no sense as he seems like a very strong kid. He had a better year in 2022 so not sure if he was hurt in 2023 Robinson has all the tools but he didn’t really produce in college He also was a liability on running downs at Penn State He will be a pass rush specialist I believe. Which may move him out of round 1 Latu at least used to have medical concerns but that seemed to have been resolved He is great vs pass and really good vs run I also like ELLIS out of Utah in round 2 if we go WR in round 1
  8. Maybe Latu is pretty good if he makes it to us For whatever reason this team isn’t bad on sacks but we are very poor in getting pressures Our DBs in this defense are greatly assisted by a pass rush Also I truly hope we add a FS FA I would not wish to put our trust in a rookie to play this pivotal role I could see the Colts going DE WR CB or WR DE CB I love the speed of the CBs in this draft, but some of the slight CBs will get beat up in run support
  9. Man..... be nice to Chloe....... Is she wrong some times..... yep (Just like us)
  10. In some ways I agree with this We have LESS in the safety group than last year, as of today We did gain depth at DL backup FA isnt done yet of course and we havent drafted yet
  11. Yep Lets hope it comes together this year, and we get some improvement...... maybe 2 more wins..... A playoff entry goes a LONG way toward keeping the "band" together
  12. I get that...... But at least so far we havent filled any of the top holes, before the draft Which means we HAVE to hit on 2 or more players in the draft
  13. Ballard has some guts........ He is standing by his approach If we have another year of no playoffs, if we go back even 2-3 wins, if this defense is bottom 5 again Ballard could well be fired....... as well as the DC Many years..... no playoff wins, At some point its on the GM
  14. Agreed He is not an all pro He is not a pro bowl (I believe he was added after the fact) He wants to be paid MORE than the ALL Pros....... I get it I hope we can get one (or two) of the many FAs at FS, and head into the draft
  15. They have some huge contracts coming together over the next 2 years It appears that they are keeping enough talent to win the Super bowl..... again....... This year But they WILL have to pay the piper at some point The Rams made a run, adding FAs to get the SB win, then they had to reload again Its about timing Going into this year, and in the offseason, its clear that the Colts DONT see this year as the year to make that sort of run. And maybe that's ok. I'm an impatient person. (One of my many flaws) At some point, if you don't have the players at the key positions, your chances to win the SB are less The Chiefs have drafted well. They have the stars without FA to win it all (And have done it) My hope is that we get the needed players in the draft, so next year, we take the swing at any holes that we may have to make the SB run. This team today, is missing - Playmaking FS - DE that gets pressures as well as sacks If I remember the article, D Hunter had 80 pressures last year, along with the great number of sacks which is well over 2X what Kwitty Paye had (I think we need "that guy" to make THIS defense work) Kwitty is improving, but he doesnt really keep the OC up at night - WR that can take the top off the defense, at any time. - Lastly a second, high impact zone CB If we are lucky, we can get 2 of these 4 in the draft If AR can stay healthy and grow as a QB, I think he is that guy at QB Its a good team...... I hope we can turn the corner this year, get in the playoffs Maybe the following year, we can take the big step after that
  16. I would be very happy with Latu or Brian Thomas in round 1
  17. Don’t let folks get under your skin….. I always appreciate your posts…
  18. One report from the talking heads have the JETS taking Bowers Who knows
  19. He is a locker room guy that will support AR (Flacco has won in big games) Think of him as a coach that also plays If Flacco is starting he will can win us a game or two
  20. IMHO he could play either role He has great ball skills, but hits like a LB
  21. If they can somehow open the check book for Simmons (or another FS) It will make our draft strategy a bit stronger
  22. Hey man…. This guy is a good watch on DE in this draft
