I trust Ballard if he believes in love then I do. If he doesn't and passes I'll respect that ,but will be mad if he is good.  I rather take the risk of a young qb then jacoby who has been in the nfl for 5 years and hasn't improved and played two full seasons and had 5 years working with nfl trainers to improve .  Jacoby hit his ceiling he is a middle of the pack qb like Jay Cutler.  It's either take a risk or keep going 8 and 8 at least if we take a risk and tank we can get trevor next year .

Its funny, I disagree with alot of this and feel that he has not reached his ceiling yet.  But, I would also never say he was the same is Jay Cutler.   Cutler was an all pro and was much better.  lol

Well, Simmons tore his ACL and still was drafted in the early 20s.  If this helps him fall to #13 (which I haven’t been predicting), I’d be happy to snag him there!

Agreed.  Simmons was the first thing I thought of.  It this helps him fall to us at 13, then go for it. Also, I would imagine that he is still doing his medical and if anything was major wrong, it would come out.

  3. I wanted to get everyones opinion on this mock draft.  I will say that I could have had Jordan Love at 34 but didn't take him.  I try to make it realistic and I doubt that he is there at 34.  I am very torn about taking him at 13...  So here is my draft

13- Javon Kinlaw- IDL- South Carolina

Getting that beast of a DT that could really make the defense hum.  He seems to check all the boxes as a Ballard guy

    34- Jalen Reagor- WR- TCU

Small and speedy.  Explosive player who, to quote Ballard, can "take the ball and go get a touchdown"  Also doesn't hurt that his father is amazing former Colt

44- Julian Okwara- Edge- Notre Dame

Shoring up the End position.  You can never have enough pass rushers

    75- Jalen Hurts- QB- Oklahoma

I have really grown to like him.  I love his intangibles and during his lone season at OU, he showed the ability to be coached.  I really think he could develop into a Franchise QB under Reich.

112- Chase Claypool- WR- Notre Dame

Getting the huge, big bodied WR.  We know that Ballard loves his ND guys and that he watched several games.  This dude is a mismatch nightmare

    142- Harrison Bryant- TE- FAU

Solid TE that really flashed at the Senior Bowl

    173- Myles Bryant- CB- Washington

    Depth at CB.

    191- Kendall Coleman- Edge- Syracuse

I don't know much but I know that Mathis is very close with him and his training him right now.

    204- James Lynch-IDL

    IDL depth

So what do yall think.  Let me know.

I don’t think this means anything. But he has one with him hugging Kalil Mack too.

I will say that if you look at his instagram, he posted a picture of him vs Chargers(QB needed), the Colts (many say QB needed) and the Bears (many say QB needed).  It is a little interesting.  I would say that he sees the writing on the walls.  If I were him, I would want out of Vegas.  They have made it very clear that they don't want him.  In regards to the Colts, I would think how public the Raiders have been about this has made his value go down in a trade.

I would love to get Carr in a Colts uni if they don't have to give up more than a 3rd round pick for him, and I'm not sure they would.  I think the Raiders are so set to move on they would take about anything really.  If Brady really does hit the market watch out for that!  The only question would be how many others teams would be interested.

Carr is not a superhero.  Nobody is saying he is.  But he is very accurate and can go downfield when necessary.  He had hardly anybody to throw to last year.  His numbers steadily declined the minute the Raiders traded away Amari Cooper, and I don't think that was fair to him.  I'm not even sure what the heck the Raiders are doing as they also got rid of Mack in his prime too.

I guess the other question to ask yourself is who would you rather have: Jacoby Brissett, one of the rookie QB's from 4th best to 6th best, or Derrick Carr?  For that matter, I suppose you could throw in guys like Bridgewater, Dalton, maybe even Stafford.

Also Carr recently came out and said that he wants to go downfield more. The offense has not allowed for that.

IMO he can't. Carr is a supplementary type of QB, not a foundation type of QB. We will need to still build the offense around the run game and build play action shots, RPOs, etc off of that.

So my question is would you take an offseason where they trade for Carr, which in my opinion fixes the QB situation, and then build in the draft with BPA and select FA signing. Or are you locked on Love. Lol

I agree.  People always make reference to the lack of interceptions he throws.  He doesnt take chances or throw into tight windows. In other words, his lack of anticipation is why his interection rate is low.  It makes sense.

Your right, how dare we like a quarterback that doesnt turn the ball over...

BRING ME JAMEIS WINSTON and his 30 interceptions (but at least he takes risks)

  8. I will say that since Colts football is done for the year, I have zoned in in the XFL and picked the defenders as my team.

Cardale has looked really good. He is big, mobile and has a rocket arm. They have made a point of saying he just never really got a chance in the NFL. I would take him as a backup and see what Reich could do with him.

Ballard has shown he will turn over every rock when looking for good players.

IMO if Ballard likes him enough to get him at 13 he will like him enough to jump in front of the Raiders.

Also, the QBs past R2 are huge wild shots. If he takes one, I wouldn't expect much of him and I definitely wouldn't consider him our next QB. I would consider it a lottery ticket.

So the only way that Ballard proves he likes a QB is by trading up or making a bold move?  If he doesn’t trade up they he won’t even take a QB.

  10. So I wanted to play the what if game in regards to Jacoby.  I know that this may get merged but I am very curious to see what the forum thinks about this certain subject.

Lets move forward with the idea that Jacoby is going to be the starter in 2020.  Let also assume that he plays the whole season because we have drafted a young QB in the mid rounds ( Gordon, Eason, Hurts).  From what I've seen this is looking like more and more a possibility.  That Ballard will take BPA during the first few picks.

So, my question is WHAT IF  Jacoby plays well and the colts do well during the season.  I'm not gonna put specific stats but something around 3000 yards, 27 TD and maybe like 10 picks.  Lets also say the colts show improvement and maybe go 9-7 or 10-6.

    What do you with Jacoby?

His value will obviously be up from this year.  Do you Franchise tag him and then trade him.  Do you Franchise tag and see if he can do it again and let the young guy continue to develop.  Do you sign him to a long term deal.  Super curious what everyone thinks
