    Nice to see.

What a contrast to Luck being so secretive and the type of football he was throwing rehabbing.

Maybe we could merge this with the thread "Peyton Manning Throws a Football Off A Skyscraper" and title it "AR to Throw Manning Off a Skyscraper". That would really make the news!

Yes but not until AR5's shoulder fully heals. :funny:

Since I can't give you a laugh, you get a like and this response.

I think taking away the sad and confused emojis is a good thing. Too many got carried away with posters they didn't like.

But I like to make jokes sometimes and not getting a laugh emoji will now put a dampner on my wannabe Fantasy Standup Comic  career. haha

Well...you said the Colts would win 4 games this past season and they won 9 and almost won the division so you were only 5 wins off.

    I said 10 wins ,so I was 1 off

My early prediction is 10 wins again...I may up that total depending on what we do in free agency and the draft.

Nice prediction last season. My prediction last season which I like very much repeating, and repeating, Lol, was the Colts and Texans would both contend for the Division with about 9 wins.

    .....not bad Haha .....

So far for 2024 I haven't made any predictions, but the lack of adding FA talent(which we never do) and the Texans having a good off season kinda raises a red flag. But nothing really different this off season than most others.

I'll see how the draft goes and if ballard drafts that TE from Ohio St. or a Uber talented WR for AR5 then that should make me more optimistic about '24.

I’m not taking issue with your points, which are well made. I just think Ballard’s timeline may not be tied to AR’s performance alone. Because the kid needs more talent around him. And if that talent shows itself to be as insufficient as I think it currently is, you’ve got to have issues with the guy choosing that talent.
I do hope that (1) the current crop of youngsters gets dramatically better, and (2) that this draft is a game changer. I’m just not very confident about either one.

    Hope I’m wrong.

I doubt this draft will be a game changer.....as in adding several high impact players that will contribute at a high level immediately.

I do think that AR5 will be a elite QB and be similar if not better than Josh Allen type.

But I don't have confidence that AR5 will have the supporting cast to make this franchise a legitimate SB threat year after year. I fear he may have to carry this team on his back and lack the players and coaches that the upper tier teams have and he will be going up against.

Of course we can always hope its our turn to win, but if AR5 will be as good as I think he should be, our turn should be a regular occurrence with the proper support.

The NFL is a multi multi BILLION dollar business.   The league has EVERYTHING to lose and NOTHING to gain by fixing games.   And all it would take is one former league executive to confess.  Just one, and the league’s credibility would implode.  And yet it hasn’t happened.

The opinion of a guy like Bubba Smith is worthless because he offers no proof, just an opinion.   And it doesn’t help his cause that the next year heavily favored Minnesota lost to KC.  And no one from the Vikings says they lost because the game was fixed for KC.  They accept that they got outplayed.   So Smith just looks like a sore loser.

The idea that the NFL is somehow equal to WWE is beyond silly.   One is theater, sold as entertainment.  The other is a game with top athletes and coaches who are as competitive as anyone on the face of the earth.

There’s no upside to fixing games, only downside.

I really don't want to beat a dead horse and tired of the same ole same ole. But there have been plenty of people talking besides bubba smith.

Like the CB from the Bucs (Smith) who was SB MVP and said they knew the plays before the snaps which is why he had like 2 interceptions according to him......The HC's from the Brownies & Dolphins that admitted they were paid/offered $$$ to lose..... ex players and SB participants and HOF's like Jerry Rice, Marshall Faulk, QB Warner etc.... etc....etc..... Not to mention numerous books written on the subject. Even you spun a "conspiracy" theory on the colts last year(but you was wrong lol)

Some choose to believe, some question what they see and some don't see or play naive to it.

Regardless to what group a person is in , it should be viewed as Entertainment to those that still watch and many of them gamble on it and try to guess the script and profit on it..

No reason to get all defensive about something that you don't have anything to do with and that more and more people are steadily increasing the opposite opinion that you are "saying you have".

So lets drop it ok and agree to have different opinions.

  7. Yankees took a loss the other night. I had a feeling we wouldn't go UNDEFEATED this season.... Its better our streak ended in April to avoid the pressure of staying undefeated during the season. Lol

Actually, several Yankee bats are cold. Judge started cold but did get a HR and a double in last game. Stanton,  Rizzo, Torres, Verdugo all not in a groove yet. Soto, Volape, and Oswaldo Cabrera carried the Yankees the first week along with the help of Astros errors and shaky bullpen.

Can't expect  Cabrera to do it most of season so some cold Yankee bats need to heat up. I think Volape will build on his rookie campaign and be a solid player in '24.

I liked what I seen from SP Gil......consistently upper 90's and touched 100 mph once.

“you think the season isn’t scripted like so many do now…”

Define “so many do now”.    Who are these people and how many of them are there?

    51.976 % .......Lol

Its a lot that believe, exact number I have no idea. But not just on internet but many float their ideas wherever/whenever people talk sports.

I think some books like authors Brian Tougy and what fans have seen in recent years watching has opened their eyes or at least has them watching from a different perspective than before.

Regardless, its still entertainment for many, like WWE, and something to try to enjoy and not take so serious regardless of someones belief or suspicion.......like a movie or tv show on HBO.

    :goodluck:

What I would like to know is,  some folks like yourself think the league is rigged.    How can Ballard succeed in your opinion if they aren't the chosen team to win?   How can you claim the league is rigged and then complain that the GM is failing?   Quite the conundrum

That's could very well be true and Ballard may not be totally the blame. However, since you think the season isn't scripted like so many do now  AND everything is legit, what's your reasoning on being a Ballard supporter amid his 8 seasons of failing???

How do you support losing for so long?

the prior general manager wrecking a generational qb. The success rate of the majority of GM’s. The wins this franchise has had with mediocre qb play, and a different qb for every single season opener of Ballard’s career. I just want to see what his teams look like with above average, and most important stable, qb play. I want to see 2 seasons of what his qb can do. I’m betting we get it too.

Well, since he's the one responsible for the roster,  its on him having a different opener at QB every season.

You really want to form an opinion about anything based on the comment section?!?    The comment section?!?!?

    I sure hope not.

So you don't think people's comments who are fans of a certain team matter??? The ones who watch every Sunday for years and years???

....but my opinion on Ballard isn't based on other fans comments, it based on his lack of success going on 8 seasons and him still operating same as before. And I will say that the fans leaving the negative comments are basing their opinion of him with the same criteria as me.

What I'd like to know is the fans that have a favorable opinion of Ballard is "what are they basing their favorable opinion on???? .....certainly not a sub .500 record with only one playoff win and zero division titles in what has been a weak division.

  12. Not much coverage on colts for out of market fans like me......so I mosey along YouTube for news. Some guys on there that belong more on amateur hour, lol, so Kent Sterling seems the better of the bunch.

Anyway, if you view his content and click on the comments Ballard really gets bashed by the vast majority of colt fans leaving comments. Maybe his supporters don't view or comment as much BUT most rhat do seem want him fired and expect that this will most likely be his last season.

Weird things happening in baseball so far! The Pirates are 5-0 for the first time since 5 years before I was born, was not expecting that!

The NL Central might be the toughest division out of the gate. I see the Brewers are also undefeated but that’s not exactly shocking.

I heard John Smoltz say he liked the Pirates and the Tigers young pitching staff. So maybe keep an eye out on them too. I also heard him say.the Rockies.and the A's will have rough years(teams to go against if wagering).

Also interesting, the "run line" in MLB has always been when I'm viewing it is +1.5/-1.5. .....But yesterday I seen the Braves were favored by 2.5 over the White Sox. That's the first time I've ever noticed a "run line" not 1.5

  14. Yankees are undefeated so far and the cheating astro's are winless......I LIKE That !!!

Downloaded EA's WRC rally game the other night(I think it came out in November but got Forza and Assetta Corrsa  which we've been playing mostly). I like it very much so far but don't have much time to play it with me again getting the MLB package and games seemingly around the clock everyday. haha

Been betting lightly in first week and doing well.

I'll say it again, if your a baseball fan, the MLB package is such a good purchase.

I mean they had 7 wins last season without Caleb Williams and without Keenan Allen... I think that projection is reasonable.

With Caleb and possibly the addition of Marvin jr./or TE Bowers their ceiling this season is encouraging for their fans.

If it ends up that he was betting on baseball it should mean an immediate ban from the sport. They did it to Pete Rose.

But man, what an absolutely weird story and situation. And so many conflicting accounts from both involved parties.

If indeed he is found to be in violation of the rules then  YES some sort of suspension is warranted.

  17. My moms hometown was Baltimore, so my family had ties to their teams. My brother was a huge Orioles fan back in the day but the organization no longer could compete with the red Sox and Yankees financially and did basically a 180° and became chronic losers so he became more a Yankee fan like I've always been. His favorite players, like so many others, Jim Palmer(who I like listening to him broadcasting), Brooks Robinson, and Cal Ripken.

Its a shame Angelos passed and won't be around to see the team finally good again.

I plan on going to Camden Yards this summer with my granddaughter Emma to catch some Yankee games and devour some Boog Powell Beef sandwiches......and she'll meet her many cousins. Going to Baltimore is much less hectic and less expensive than going to NY to catch a Yankee game, which we may do that too. Lol

    Anyway, my condolences.
