  1. I think we are going to find that the NFL as a whole is going to be relatively quiet until the league allows players to come back into team facilities to be checked by the team's medical staffs. With the NFL barring players from coming in right now teams are less likely to commit to new deals with players. If you look at the Colts official website they haven't announced the Philip Rivers signing yet because he hasn't been able to come in yet and take his physical. I truly believe that Ballard and his team are working as hard or harder than they normally would this time of year.
  2. 17 game season doesn't start until 2021 at the earliest. This season is a 16 game schedule.
  3. Has anyone else noticed that JB is no longer on the banner for season ticket sales for the forum and team website? The Maniac and Big Q are now on the banner. Anyone else think this means anything?
  4. When I saw the title of this thread I thought that perhaps the Rivers family had another child. This made me laugh and a great way to start a new day!
  5. And surely Houston wouldn't trade one of the top 3 receivers in the NFL for an injury prone running back with a bloated contract and a 2nd round pick. Personally, I agree with you that Houston under normal circumstances would never trade Watson especially to the Colts, but something ain't right down in Houston. Bill O'Brien, who is mediocre at best as a coach, is looking like a buffoon as a GM. Buffoon may be putting it lightly after what Minnesota was able to get for Diggs and he is nowhere near the receiver that Hopkins is. Of course I'm personally hoping that they let O'Brien continue to run the Texans into the ground down there. Fingers crossed!
  6. Does that seem like a lot to anyone else?
  7. Wow! By reading some of these posts one would think that this was the forum for the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Bucs, the Washington Football Club, or Arizona Cardinals. I imagine most of those franchises would gladly trade to be in the situation we are currently in. Solid O line, young promising players on defense, a decent coaching staff, a scouting department that over the last 2 drafts has proved to be one of the better ones in the league, a GM who is smart with the salary cap, and an owner who lets the GM run the team. Does it suck that Andrew Luck retired? Heck yeah it does! Does it probably push the timeline back for Super Bowl contention? Probably does. I know personally I would be thrilled if we were to win a Super Bowl in the next 3 seasons. Super Bowls are not easy to come by but you don't have to have a Mahomes, or Watson, or Manning, or Luck, or Brady to win one. You can win a Super Bowl with a Rypien, a Johnson, a Dilfer, a Flacco, or a Foles if you build a good ALL AROUND TEAM! That is what CB is trying to do. Would it be great if we had a top 5 QB? You bet! Is it a necessity? Not if you build a good all around team. I think Ballard is doing that and will continue to do that.
  8. Of course the Panthers are intrigued by next year's QB class. If they were able to get the #1 pick and draft Trevor Lawrence that would be a great thing for their franchise. The kid already plays for Clemson in the heart of their fan base. I really wouldn't be surprised to see the Panthers "Tank for Trevor" this season. To be honest, it would probably be in their best interest to tank this year.
  9. That looks better. Not sure why you would quote me to say what you did other than to troll me because I called them the Washington Football Club. For myself, I have come to the conclusion that I will try not to use the nickname of the Washington Football Club because I feel like it is a racial slur. Not trying to force my viewpoint on anyone else but it is just something I feel for myself is the right thing to do. Not that isn't hard to stop using their nickname after years of doing so, but for myself that is a word I would like to eliminate from my vocabulary.
  10. The hat that was shown in the article is still better than the ones that say "Colts Forged". Whoever came up with that should be fired!
  11. The Washington football club doesn't want Tua. They want the Dolphins to think that they want Tua. Everyone knows that Haskins was Dan Snyder's pick last year. The coaching staff may want Tua, but there is no way that Snyder is going to give up on Haskins with less than a season's worth of games played. I'm not saying a trade to 2 won't happen because Miami has the draft capital to easily pull it off, but it won't be because they think the Washington Football Club want Tua.
  12. The only problem with this is that Dwayne Haskins was from most accounts I've heard Daniel Snyder's choice. He wasn't Jay Gruden's or Bruce Allen's pick. This was the guy the owner wanted. I don't know how quickly Dan will be willing to admit he made a mistake. So they could end up with the number 1 pick and not keep it or use it on Trevor Lawrence. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/10/04/redskins-are-verge-lost-season-so-what-do-they-do-with-dwayne-haskins/
  13. Since this is so far before the free agency period begins and the draft happens it is really hard to tell what direction teams are going to go this upcoming season. What if the Chargers aren't huge fans of any of the QB's in this year's draft and don't want to be saddled with the huge contract of one of the free agent QB's? They could easily ride this season with Tyrod Taylor who could very well lead them to a #1 pick. This question, in my opinion, is better answered after the draft, but if forced to make a selection I would say it will be the Bengals or Chargers depending on what they do with their QB situation.
