  1. I know we have Luck but it seems like the Patriots are getting all those lucky breaks. That Havili int was big since we were driving and could of cut the lead to 2pts. I mean I still believe we can pull out the win but defense isn't getting of the field on 3rd down they are not playing horrible but not good or great either. Come on Colts dig deep and pull out this win

  2. this team is a cook duck. We started the season on a positive note with a few road bumps here and there, but unfortunately injuries and lack of talented back ups have killed this team from being competitive. People will blame coaches and schemes, but I won't blame them since at the end of day the players are the ones that make the plays, tackles, blocks, etc. Personally I don't like this heavy run scheme that Pep runs I saw it first hand living in the West Coast, but that was college(which it work perfectly) and in the pros you have to be a little more creative and daring. I'm not sure what happen to the defense today or the past couple of weeks. From what I can see its the same players minus a few guys here and there. I wondering whether the bad play from the defense is a result of a bad offense or simply the defense is bad in general and got lucky in the games it has played. I still think the Colts will win the division and make the playoffs, but I expect it to be one and down. I'm not even going to touch the TRich situation since I won't fully judge him till next season when he gets a full off-season to get acquainted with the team. While this season started of really good sadly it will end most likely with a one and down in the playoffs this assuming they can win some of there remaining games. Still love my Colts but its unfortunate the season is turning this ugly.

  3. This article talks about the Colts saying they would trade for TRich again and I also notice that Edge is mentoring him and he's going through a lot with the transition. So it sounds like TRich is not 100 percent comfortable with the trade. Also for the record not sure if this post belongs with the pinned topic on TRich

  4. First thing is we got the W so I'm happy for that.

Kelvin Shephard the LB is horrible we really need Conner or Angerer back asap. He seem too slow or lost at times.

I hear a lot of AC played horrible comments remember guys he sprained his knee 2 weeks ago I'm shock he was out there to begin with.

Laundry was all over the field should I dare mention who he reminds me off

The run D wasn't as bad as people say they I look at the stat line 100 yds were Pryor running around like Vick if it wasn't for that stat line would show under 75yds earn for the Raiders

We will improve understanding read option QB its week 1 after all. Patience is what we need as fans.

Run game shows signs of improvement Ballard had a stat line of 10 carries for 50yds at one point during the game. Havali really does help improve the run game

Werner is still learning but I see potential just like I saw it when he played at Florida state

I'm happy with the win and I see big things coming. Let's Go Colts!

  5. Man talk about a week to week difference. The score would be so different it certain plays went are way. The only things that annoy me is when Luck throws deep and its like 3-2 or 3-3 and he breaks the pocket open grass in front of him and he throws the ball deep and we punt. Just run for the 1st down and we will go from there. Those 1st downs would of kept atleast 2 or 3 drives going... and the defense isnt the same without Mathis and Moala. Atleast hughes is pretty active....

  6. Can someone explain to me why the Lions were given an opportunity to counter the Titans made Field Goal??? yet the rest of the OT games were final once the first points were scored ex. jets over fins chiefs over saints

Unless the playoff rules apply in the regular season I don't know why the game continued

  7. In another thread, someone asks, "how could we lose to the scrub Jags...." Fair question.

The answer is this.... the Jags aren't the 2011 Colts. Even as a poor team, there's a fair amount of talent on that roster. And, here's the key thing......

The difference between winning and losing in the NFL is so small, so incredibly small, that if you're not on top of your game, it's not shocking when the lesser team beats the better team.

Look at what happened this week alone in the NFL!

-- Tenn UPSETS Detroit, 44-41 in OT, both teams are 1-2.

-- NYT barely beat Miami 23-20 in OT, the Jets could have been 1-2

-- Dallas barely beats TB 16-10 at home, the Cowboys could have been 1-2

-- SF is UPSET by Minn 24-13, the Vikings (2-1) only loss is to the Colts

-- KC UPSETS NO at home 24-23, the Chiefs are now 1-1 and the Saints are now 0-3

-- Cincy beats Wash at home, 38-31, the Redskins are now 1-2

-- St.Lou UPSETS Phil 27-9, the Cards are now 3-0 with terrible QB play

-- Arizona beats SD on the road 27-3, the Falcons now 3-0

-- Denver lose at home to Texas, 31-25, the Broncos now 1-2

-- Pittsburgh is UPSET by Oakland 34-31, the Steelers and Raiders both 1-2

-- NE is edged by Balt 31-30, (and blow 9 pt 4th quarter lead) the Patriots are 1-2

Every outcome in those games is a surprise of one level or another. Even if the favorite won, it wasn't by much. Or it was by far more than expected on the road. Or the favorite was upset. That's 11 games. 11 out of 16 with some measure of surprise. Notice I didn't even list our loss in the group. That would make 12 out of 16!

The margin in the NFL is so incredibly small, stuff happens. It makes the NFL a great game. But it makes it infuriating sometimes too.

-- We gave up nearly 180 yards to MJD.

-- We suffered more than 100 yards in penalties.

-- Our running game wasn't good enough.

-- Our passing game wasn't good enough.

-- We missed a critical make-able field goal.

-- Played horrible defense on the last drive.

Do those 6 things to a lesser team that was 0-2 and desperate to win and you saw what happened.

And who knows, maybe they're not so bad after all? Maybe they're better than everyone thinks?

After all, many here think we're pretty good. If we can be better than most think, why can't the Jags?

Finally.... apologies this was so long. Much to say on the day after a disappointing loss.

You got some of the games mix up. Arizona didnt beat San Diego...it was Atlanta which you mention as Falcons and St Louis didnt beat Philly it was Arizona

  8. The refs didn't make some calls for us but we played most of the 2nd half. Plus that last TD was Bethea and Brown fault. Bethea went the wrong way going to left and Brown simply lost his man and even shook his head once the guy made the catch and took off for the score.

  9. So after watching the game and watching Manning play last night and reading everyone's comments. I decided to give my opinion on the situation regarding the Colts...

As bad as everyone feels the Colts played. I personally felt the momentum change after Vinitari miss the field goal before half time. Once he miss the field the confidence they had made for keeping the game competitive at the point went on the window. If he makes the field goal its a touchdown lead with Colts receiving the ball in the 2nd half and they could of had a different outcome from that point, but we all know what really happen. Andrew Luck was awesome as we can tell. I knew watching him play SC all these time in Cali he was going to be special. Sure he didn't win like RG3, but RG3 has more talent on offense and defense as well. We are still trying to find an identity on both sides of the ball. There are some things I like....

    1. Andrew Luck - his numbers were identical to Manning 1st game.

    2. Coby Fleener really step it up - I knew I drafted him for a reason in fantasy football.

    3. Reggie - Its Reggie enough said

    4. Defense wasn't too bad IMO- Time will really help in the long run. Sure we won't be a Top 10 defense, but I see the potential. I'm pretty sure the talent will be brought in next season.

    Things I hated

    1. The O-line- some plays the look real good and others they just plain suck. We need talent on the O-line for sure and we can all agree with this. Linkenbach was just plain bad every time the pocket collapse it was coming from his side for the most part. 2nd most would be up the middle.

    2. Freeney getting hurt in 2nd play on D. I'm not sure if he would of made a difference on the field, but even without him Mathis got 2 sacks so that tells me more about Mathis who will transition well into the 3-4.

    3. Hughes - Preseason he was great. Live action not so much. I will say he does seem more involve, but he will need more time. With Freeney hurt we will be able to tell if Hughes is for real or bust in the system he played at TCU which was a 3-4

    4. Missed opportunities - They failed many times to make this more competitive. The missed field goal really hurt the most and things fell apart from that point on.

    5. SS - Where was he? I really wasn't impress at all by his play.

I wanted to touch on the Corner play since everyone seems to be slamming on Davis & Powers. Personally of the two I feel Powers played worse. On many plays he seem out of position might be new scheme he is learning and other plays he was at the right place, but Marshall just made the play. I expected it since he is like 6'+ (Marshall) and Powers is under 6'. Next game I feel he will play much better. Davis did well for only knowing the scheme for two weeks. He had the same problem covering Marshall, but for the most part I think he did well. I do see the potential in him and I feel Pagano will bring out the best in him. Both Davis & Powers just need the time to work on the scheme. Things will get better. Also keep in mind most teams don't have tall corners most corners are under 6' or maybe 6'1". The only corner I know who is tall and good/decent is the corner from the Seahawks #25 Shurmur or something like that he's 6'3" I believe.

The most important thing we need for this season is time!!! However, for the future and long term we will need some new talent. The potential is there.....
