We could go corner in the 2nd and get the same quality  as the first as we run a zone scheme.  Plus let's  not forget  flowers is an undrafted guy.

I love Flowers as a returner I was the lone person in his corner his rookie year, just not sure he is a true corner at this level, thought Jones played above his draft spot last year but if we can get an elite Zone Corner would help a bunch. I hate zone as do many here and everywhere else but Gus isnt changing.

  2. I think we stay at 15, hope Bowers is there but dont think he will be. With latest update not encouraging that Flowers will be ready seems like Corner more likely to be taken over WR.  First round corner paired with Brents with Jones first corner off the bench should yield better results then last season.

Washington State is quietly putting together a very nice season out west, 2nd fewest NCAA Tournament appearances among power conferences (Also 2nd longest drought)  they sit second in the Pac 12 at 20-6  (11-4 Pac 12) with 7 wins in a row. They are led by Freshman cancer survivor Myles Rice.. here is a very nice read.

Imo we have three elite players in Buckner, Nelson and Taylor.  They have proven themselves.  The rest of the starters which are all being brought back are good to very good.  Picking in the first 15 gives the Colts the best chance to add another potential elite player.  You trade back into the 20’s you probably wind up with good like Paye at 21.  Imo Ballard needs to stay at 15 or move up not back.  Try for elite.  Odds are more than likely pick 46 is good not elite.  We have plenty of good right now.  I hope Ballard tries to get a potential difference maker somewhere in the first 15 picks.  I think this is what he is going to do.  I think he really likes the current team.  That’s why he brought them all back.  I can see him trading up in the 1st round now for the 1st time.   Certainly staying at 15 and not trading back.  No more need for multiple arrows trying to hit the target.  Move up and get a closer shot to a bullseye.  That’s what I’m hoping for.

I think we have 4 with Rainmann as he was was the 8th ranked Tackle in the league in just his second season, I think we have seen enough already to know he is going to be a cornerstone for years to come barring injury.

I just did my final top women's college players list of all-time and she is 3rd IMO.

    1. Cheryl Miller is still #1

    2. Breanna Stewart is here

    3. Clark is here

Clark never won a Championship but went to 2 Finals in a row on a team that really had average players around here, so she still won a lot. She is the all-time leading scorer in college basketball history and won the Wooden Womens Award 2 years in a row. Miller and Stewart won multiple Championships, having said that they were on stacked teams. I would take Clark over Diana Taurasi college wise and Taurasi won multiple Championships, but she played on stacked UConn teams much like Stewart did, but Stewart was a better player than Taurasi.

Ann Meyers was amazing back in the day, achieved a lot of first including first NBA tryout. She was a great all around athlete competed in the Superstars which was a big deal back in the 1970's (won 3 straight years).

I didn't realize it was a polarizing stance to think he was guilty

Probably about 80% think he is guilty I would guess.  Evidence showed enough he was found guilty in the civil trial which says a lot.

Yeah right. It's all based on your opinion really. Ballard has stated on more than one occasion and even recently that they think Flowers is a very good player. All they said about Jones is he battled when he was in there. They like both of them, but the odds thing is really more your opinion than a likely fact.

"We thought he was playing pretty good,” Ballard said. “Getting Dallis Flowers back will be big.”

Flowers gave up eight completions in 15 attempts for 91 yards in four games, according to Sports Info Solutions, allowing a quarterback rating of 71.8 that would have led the Indianapolis cornerbacks last season.

No one said it was based on my opinion, its is based on many opinions thats why people conjecture about different spots being won or lost leading up to the season, if you are offended doesnt really make much sense honestly as you commented with a differing opinion and no one was offened. There is a reason why Colts have been linked in a majority of mocks to Corners in round 1 and IF that happens barring injury that player would be the heavy favorite to start Day 1. One could state that is an opinion but a one in the heavy majority. If a starting vet corner is signed that player would then be a heavy favorite, If neither happens and the spot isnt addressed then becomes more of a dog fight between Jones and Flowers with Jones having the expierence of more playing time. I think most here would be jumping with joy if all the young Corners progressed and we were set, odds are all wont progress to that point but thats the nature of the sport.

Flowers will start most likely. He was the starter before he got injured.

I'd say it is doubtful he starts, last year he was only competing for the spot vs.Jones who was a rookie late round pick . D. Baker won the other starting spot while Brents was injured).  Flowers played solid but only gained 304 snaps of experience and only had 174 in his career prior so a total of 478 snaps.

Baker  played 467 snaps but didnt play well so likely out of the picture unless a lot of injuries hit.

However Jones played 787 snaps and while not quite hitting Flowers performance levels was far behind.

Then we have the likely scenerio of a 1st or 2nd round pick being drafted (Most mocks have it as a 1, though many mocks have WR as the 1).

So for Flowers to start he needs to beat out a high draft pick and Jones and thats if no vet is signed. I'd say Flowers odds are not very good at this point.

  9. Dabo is out of his International exemption so sing or swim time for him. Will be interesting if Harrison stays at Linebacker after spending last year bulking up or if they plan to move him back at Safety,...smart money says he stays at LB but not sure it is 100% etched in stone. I like Cross improved by leaps and bounds from year 1 to 2, was so young when drafted some forget that part. Thomas scares  me, he fell of the ledge last season with all the commotion and his father's arrest surely on his mind, Hope was a 1 year glitch not sure it was.

he looks good. But he’s going to have his hands full on defense. He only played 27 minutes today, while edey played all but about 30 seconds. That may not seem like a big deal to many, but a difference of 10 minutes on the court could be the difference in the game. And it could be a massive difference.

Burns played so few minutes do to foul trouble and as mentioned if Purdue gets him into foul trouble also 100% can alter the outcome and take away their steam. If NC State is able to get Edey into foul trouble that will be a game changer as well, We will see early how tight or not tight game is called and who adjust better to it. A lot of eyes on the tournament this year and a Cinderall emerged just not one from a Mid Major this time.

  11. I have Illinois over Marquette in finals. Shannon playing great and figured if Kolek could get rust off opening weekend they could run that side (Houston was so bad in Big 12 title game couldnt see them making final 4.  I have NC and Tenn. as other final 4. Have 7 of 8 of my elite 8 still going. Sitting in top 15% of all brackets

Samford is playing some very good ball, may be a mid major to advance a few lines on March bracket.  17-2 and have won 17 in a row after 2 straight losses.  Bucky McMillian can coach and Achor Achor will be in the NBA soon. They have scored more points than any team this season avg 90.4 a game only Kentucky comes close.

Gave Kansas all they could handle and caught the national media's attention. Bucky Ball is here to stay this isnt a 1 year wonder team, this program is going to be here for awhile.

Cougars got job done, on to the 32.

  14. Going to be very close for final bids. This site has 103 expert brackets and break down each in depth. Looks like the following

    Last 4 in

    1)Texas A M on 85 brackets,  avg.  seed 10.42

    2)Oklahoma on 95 brackets, avg.  seed 10.12

3)Mich State on 103 brackets, avg seed 10.10

    4)Colorado on 100 brackets,  avg. seed 9.99

    First 4 out

    1)St John's on 75 brackets, avg. 10.63

    2)Virginia on 49 brackets, avg.   10.92

    3)S, Hall on 29 brackets, avg,     10.93

    4)Providence on 12 brackets, avg 11.08

    5)Indiana st on 11 brackets, avg 10.91

So looks to be a 2 team race as TAM is .30 behind next closest team to bubble and St Johns ahead by .29 on next club trying to get in .21 is cutting hairs. Both TAM and St John's on a wide majority will be quite interesting.

I said Iowa and was wrong.  It was Illinois who beat Ohio State.   I think Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin and Nebraska will all get in.  Outside of that, in the Big 10, Northwestern and Michigan State have an outside chance.

I think Mich state is 3rd on Bubble so fairly safe as only 3 bid stealers are left and all would have to win.

I think Oregon is likely over Colorado, UAB and Temple each in semis would need 2 wins to capture America and both have uphill battles vs the 2 Florida powerhouses today in USF and FAU.  Finally NC State with a miracle win yesterday may not have much in the tank vs the Tar Heels but we shall see.

    My Bubble

    1)Virginia- It bursts

2)St Johns-Sweating it but make it

3)Mich St- Sweating it but make it

A lot of good games today, Ill likely be watching that Atlantic 10 mess sort itself out,  Nebraska vs Illini,Marquette vs Uconn and Oregon vs Colorado while flipping for stretches.  As a college hoops fan nothing like these 2 weeks.

I actually like Nebraska, Tominaga the next Japanese NBA star IMO and the Danish Power Forward who came over from Bradley Mast is a very solid complement. Always like Fred "Mayor" Hoiberg going back to his college days, he has turned around this struggling program. We will see how far they got in Big 10 and then the Big Dance but I think Round of 32 with a shot at sweet 16 depending whom they get round 2.

Tominaga is on fire with 18 in the first half and hitting from deep down town.  Nebraska is the only team from the Power 6 in Basketball without an NCAA win sitting at 0-7.
