  1. With all of Hull (knee), Downs (knee), Flowers (Achilles) and Dulin (knee) coming off of injuries I wonder if CB will target a WR or DB who can be a returner and provide depth? The guy that comes to mind for me is Donovan Peoples-Jones. Thoughts?
  2. Based off of the attached list of free agent QB's............if you squint REALLY HARD you could possibly see a Joshua Dobbs or a Tyler Huntley as possibilities? But even THAT is a stretch! Joe Milton in the draft seems like a natural back-up to AR5 as they are similar in skill set and similar in measurables........
  3. JT Hull Sermon Goodson That is a versatile backfield ESPECIALLY because JT is a bellcow and the other three will get minimal reps anyhow
  4. I may be late to the party, but, I really like the re-signing of Big Grove and now the even bigger Raekwon Davis. CB has Re-signed all the key free agents that are needed for stability/continuity and now has addressed an obvious weakness in the depth of the defense -all in the first two days of free agency! I read that Blackmon has deleted his Colts content and/or unfollowed the Colts so I’m guessing a new safety will be signed soon enough as well….. Perhaps Kamren Kurl, CGJ or Jordan Fuller? I mean if he shot for the stars and signed Simmons that would be awesome too!
  5. Posing this Madden style question….. In your own opinion would Moore as a Safety be better for the overall performance of defense than Moore as the Nickel? He did play a lot of safety at Valdosta State in College. Makes me wonder if all of Brents, Jones and Flowers could handle the outside and slot if the defense would be better with Moore as a safety? I’m not suggesting this is what the team will do, or should do……just a question for you gurus out there! 😊
  6. Ahhhhhh that time of the year when the very definition of insanity rears its ugly head again, and again, and again….. Find another team to ‘cheer’ for if you are that upset and miserable about how this team is ran. Bye…..don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya!
  7. Well deserved for a solid player and it’s a nice AAV over the next 4 years! Now he just needs a backup to play on third and passing downs that is more of a Safety that can cover backs, tight ends and zones!
  8. He wouldn’t help make the Colts a contender? Like at all? I would say he puts us closer to contenders at the very least?
  9. We will have a healthy JT, a presumably healthy Hull (well balanced runner/pass catcher/blocker) and a full off-season for Tyler Goodson to learn the playbook. That is a good mix right there. There is no need to draft a back nor spend money on a FA when there are bigger holes to fill. The main reason is JT will get a majority of the carries so outside of keeping a Trey Sermon type on the PS I just don't see the FO investing much capital in the position outside of a couple UDFA's. Just my $0.02...
  10. We ALL pretty much know this won't happen........... BUT... What if Chris Ballard pulled it off?
  11. We might be able to, for sure. But that whole familiarity and we pay our own thing comes into play.
  12. Sneed is up there…..I mean he just came off a season in which he gave up one TD the entire season (including the post season when it actually happened). I’d say that’s pretty dominant.
  13. Below are our UFA's and what I COULD see the team doing and is strictly my opinion: S Julian Blackmon - Not Re-signed (largely due to better offers elsewhere AND injury history) - draft pack compensation DT Taven Bryan - Not Re-signed (Tomi will take his spot) LB/S Ronnie Harrison - Re-signed to a new 1-year deal DE Tyquan Lewis Not Re-signed (largely due to better offers elsewhere AND injury history) DE Jake Martin - Not Re-signed (Titus Leo will take his spot) WR Isaiah McKenzie - Not Re-signed (Ashton Dulin regains his spot) QB Gardner Minshew II - Re-signed to a much too large contract for a backup QB CB Kenny Moore II - Not Re-signed (will get bigger money elsewhere) - draft pack compensation (Jones takes his spot) RB Zack Moss - Not Re-signed (will get bigger money elsewhere) - draft pack compensation (Hull takes his spot) C/G Danny Pinter - Not Re-signed (French already took his spot) P Rigoberto Sanchez - Re-signed to a modest 3-4 year contract DT Grover Stewart - Re-signed to a 2 year contract with the thought of drafting an heir apparent.
  14. I have not read all the comments but dismissed with prejudice means it is closed and cannot be retried. Funny thing is I posted in the previous thread that is locked that we should not rush to judgement when a lot of folks were crucifying him. Not saying I told you so, but rather reminding folks that we’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty - including in the public court of law! 😊
  15. I look at it like this - I would trade almost any first round pick for a 3-5 year player who has proven themselves in the NFL as a good to great player like Sneed, Burns and Buckner prior to this year. A pick, even a first rounder is still a lottery ticket……
  16. Ballard has a precedent on the roster in Buckner. He traded number 13 for Buck and extended him when he could have stayed put and taken the rookie Javon Kinlaw. If the plan is to draft a CB then trading number 15 for a PROVEN CB makes just as much sense as the Buckner trade. Sneed just finished his 4th year in the league just like Buck when the trade was made. I would do it in a heartbeat if that was a one for one swap!
  17. My takeaways from using his own language as he usually always drops nuggets that end up coming true: Deep WR Class - so I'm betting that unless MHJ drops we will be drafting one in the 2nd or 3rd round (or later), but not the 1st. Someone like a Malachi Corley, Xavier Leggete, or Brendon Rice Blocking TE - start looking at TE's that are more known for their In-Line Blocking with the capability of short are route running (like Ken Dilger, Jack Doyle type) 3rd Down Defense (LB's especially) - another hint to look for those hybrid LB/SS types capable of covering the short zones and the middle of the field (I'm thinking someone like a James Williams from the U). He has a position in mind for number 15 - that is code of if our guy is there we draft, if he isn't we trade back. Personally, I believe it is an elite pass rusher - edge or interior doesn't matter.
  18. I'm excited to see Jake Witt in training camp after he had a 'redshirt' year doing film work, walk-throughs, getting into a pro strength and conditioning program, a pro nutrition program and all the mental reps he's had!
  19. Fair enough - that is assuming we re-sign Blackmon and sign Elliott as a FA. I can see your thought process with a true number one CB - though you don't see Brents developing into that number one? I don't see CB splurging on one FA? So you think a guy at number 15 is going to step in and be that guy? Wiggins? DeJean? Or either of the Bama guys?
  20. Correction...............had Gilmore wanted to stay.
  21. I agree 100% and that is why I do not see us using number 15 on any of those top corners - and I agree on Tampa as an option later in the draft as well as Cam Hart (Notre Dame) and Khryee Jackson (Oregon)
